Was talking to a dear friend today and when she found out I was still going to WW, she asked if I remembered the "old" pudding recipe from years ago. I have no idea what she was talking about but if anyone knows what "old" recipe there was "way back in the day" when every thing was "tuna, tuna, tuna" as she also mentioned... I would love to share it with her! Thanks!

pbnj I think if we have a little more info we can all dig in our old cookbooks. Maybe a general decade, or flavor would help? *secretly hoping this is a really low point bread pudding recipe*

DebDoesWW I don't think she was referring to bread pudding but something made with gelatin and powdered milk and it was very few calories? We're talking decades ago... probably back in the 70's when nearly everything was off limits!! I don't know when I'll see her again. Dear lady had a heart valve replacement and was finally back in the pool.

Huh, that is a new one to me pbnj . Glad she is back at the pool though *maybe this? “Coffee Carvel” 1 packet non-flavored gelatin ½ cup hot water 1 teaspoon coffee powder 5 teaspoons skim milk powder 1 packet of artificial sweetener 6 ice cubes Dissolve the gelatin completely in the hot water Mix in coffee powder, skim milk powder, and artificial sweetener In a blender, one by one, blend in ice cubes Pour into 4 pudding cups and chill until set. schmeightschmatchers.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/i-love-the-gelatinous-70s/

Oh, gosh, back in the day (early to mid 70s) we made all kinds of "treats" using Knox gelatin, non-fat milk powder, sugar-free cream or chocolate soda, extracts and flavorings. Trust me when I say that, although we convinced ourselves that these concoctions were great back then, having revisited at least one recipe some years ago, they really were disgusting in taste and texture!

I make Pumpkin Fluff-
1 small box of SF FF vanilla instant pudding
1 small box of SF FF butterscotch instant pudding
4 cups FF milk
1 15 oz can of pure Pumpkin (not the pie filling)
Pumpkin Pie Spice
Not too bad on points, and you get that holiday pumpkin pie taste.
Makes about 8 servings if you don't lick the bowl and scrape everything in, lol.

I am an old member of WW. Weight is now well maintained. I loved the original old WW bread pudding receipt. You could make 1 serving at a time. It was simple and fast. It’s way back in the 70s I’m sure. Thanks for any assistance you may provide.

If I remember correctly it goes like this:
4 Slices of bread 4 cups of milk 4 Eggs 4 Packets of Sweet N Low
I haven't made it in years but I remember combining eggs, milk, and sweet n low. Then adding the bread ripped into bite size pieces. Toss gently with egg mixture. You could add cinnamon sprinkled on top of you want. Bake in a nonstick pan at 350 until brownish on top.
That's how I remember it. And I used white bread. But I bet any bread would work. Even raisin bread. Probably even Ezekiel bread for a healthier version.
I think if another slice of bread or even two more was used it wouldn't mess it up. It just wouldn't be as soft I think.
I'm actually going to try to make this with almond milk, JustEgg, wheat bread, and stevia, and see what happens lol
