Ruth, I will have to check out the tilted tiles (if my mind is remembering the name of the stitch) pattern on youtube. Simply amazing how you find all these different patterns.
Heading into work for a short while- then meeting Dd#1 as she has to go for an MRI. We are hoping and praying for good results

Hello Ginny - I hope your DD's MRI has good results It's cold and sunny here again today, feels more like December than November. I went out this morning to run a few errands and even though I said I wasn't going in the grocery store this week, I did stop in for just a few things. Traffic wasn't bad either, but I'm sure it will get worse the rest of the week. I think I've figured out how I want to use the star blocks in a quilt, so I just have to start making them. It's fun to work on Christmas quilts now that it's getting into that season. Hope you all get to do some crafting today

So far today by crafting has only included making chili and spaghetti sauce and looking at crochet videos and crochet patterns.I really need to quit looking at the patterns and work on the ones I already have. Now I'm planning on crocheting for the rest of the day except if I have to go out and pick up a prescription
CJ, yes those red and white blocks are so festive! They will be a great thing to work on during this season. I'm sure your other colors you mentioned will be also.I'm glad traffic wasn't bad so that you could be more relaxed in being out in this busy week. You're right about it being worse the rest of the week.
I'll be back later.

What a long day.
Phyl, glad you figured out what you need to do to fix your mistake, hope you can finish it all in she time you wanted to.
CJ- totally agree that Christmas quilts are so pretty. Glad you were able to run some errands with no difficulty. Like you, my weather has been cold and feels much more like December than November.
Ruth-did you get to spend the rest of the day crochetting? Hope so!!
I actually got some crochet time in this am then the insanity of the day took over. I did get to spend some time with DD before her test, and she stopped in to see me after the test was over.We will know the results before Thanksgiving.
This afternoon I just got off the phone with Walmart regarding a strange mis order. I think I was finally able to explain to them what happened and I have to just take the item back to Fed Ex who will handle the return. Its a very long story, and a very confusing one at that. Just glad that the return is authorized now, its a gift for DGS#3, and he does not need two of this item for sure.
Have a good evening G

Ginny, unless the item was very expensive or the mistake was on your part,I'm surprised they didn't tell you to just keep the item. I did return an item that dh bought but at the local Walmart and that was a huge hassle. I think I mentioned it here. I'm continuing to pray for you and your family as you await test results. That is certainly a stressful time.
I did do some crocheting this morning then did some kitchen cleaning. Now back to crochet. My doctor's office is still insisting that they can't give ,me antibiotics unless I come in and give them a urine sample to do a dispstick test on.The dipstick test is pretty useless actually so I guess it's just another ploy to get more money from insurance companies. I'm still not going to go there esp since it's a holiday week. It's a complete waste of my time too.Three years or so ago I went in and had a dipstick test and it didn't show anything so I ended up suffering in pain and miraculously didn't end up septic and dying because when they FINALLY did a micro on my urine they found that I had had a UTI all along. I just don't trust doctors anymore. And I know my body. I know when I have a UTI and have been right each time....blahhhhh.
Ok,done venting

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well and having nice weather. It was milder here today and sunny, looks like temps will stay in the 50s this week - nice weather. Phyl - Glad to hear your snowflake quilt is coming along, hope you can get it done soon and also hope you feel better Ruth - Sounds like you'll have some good meals with the things you are cooking Sorry to hear about the issues with the doctors office. Ginny - I'm glad you found some time to crochet, I'm sure things are busy there getting ready for the meal on Thanksgiving Sue - Hope you are doing well I cut all the pieces for 5 more of the 12 inch star blocks today, so those are ready to piece. I also made some pinwheel blocks. I'm going to use the excess fabric from the star blocks to make some half square triangles into pinwheel blocks and I need 16 blocks. I'll only get 10 blocks from the stars, so I needed to make 6 more pinwheel blocks and got them done. The last block for the Hometown Charms quilt along comes out and I hope it's an easy one that I can get done so I can get that quilt top together this week. I'm anxious to see how it looks with the borders added. Take care everyone

CJ,it's warm here this week too but only in upper 40's. I'll take it though. I'm glad to hear that you got the pinwheel blocks done. I'm also glad to hear that you're soon going to be able to see the Hometown charms quilt top completed. I'm very sure it will be beautiful
Did you get your turkey breast? I know in past years you've cooked one for Thanksgiving.

Good evening, Ruth, well I’m glad you got some kitchen cleaning done, that’s all stuff that Has to happen whether we want to do some or not. And you got some crocheting in also so it’s good. Thank you for your prayers for my family, my daughter got her test results back and while they did find an abnormality, the most serious problem was not found on this test so that is very very good news. We’re waiting to hear from her doctor how to interpret the test results. Do you feel that you need an antibiotic? I would think that you should be able to get somebody in your doctors office on Friday, although I agree that tomorrow and Thursday would not be good days unless you were willing to go to an emergency room. I hope that you’re comfortable and if you need an antibiotic that you’re able to get one.
CJ, I also hope that the new hometown charm block is an easy one, and one that makes you smile! I hope you have enough fabric and enough half square triangles to make as many pinwheel blocks as you need. Pinwheel blocks are so pretty and for something so simple they always look so cheery!
Well, I got a text from my daughter this morning saying that one of her kids was sick and that she was staying home. So I grabbed a blanket and a pillow and went to lay down on the couch. It was nice watching the morning news even though I did fall asleep during it. I think the Lord knew I needed some extra sleep and I really enjoyed getting that nap in this morning. Then I did some housecleaning and a little bit of yardwork in preparation for company on Thursday this afternoon I dropped off a meal at my daughters house, and got my hair trimmed. I did get some crocheting done while I was waiting at the hairdressers.
Hope everyone sleeps well and has a good evening!

Well I did have a post all written out but dh called me so by the time I got back the little square proving I'm not a robot had timed out.
All I had to say really was that I'm still praying and hope your dd,Ginny, does hear some good news from the doctor. Also that, although we were to have all weather in the 40's this week,it started out there this morning but then I noticed snow on the mountain looking like it was moving down here and it did. We weren't supposed to get this snow today I don't think. I'm glad we don't have to go out in it.
I've been crocheting and trying to get these scarves done so I could go on to making some mosaic hats for family and to donate.. Well dh asked me if I would crochet him a hanging organizer so I'll do that next after the scarves.
Ok, back to scarves

Just got back from the Thanksgiving service at my church. Simple but lovely service. Ruth, thanks for asking about my daughter, she did hear back from the doctor and he does want her to go on and see a specialist. But he is firmly of the belief that all of the problems that she’s experiencing right now with the result of Covid. He also instructed her not to ever get a Covid vaccine. I have not spoken to her this was told to me in a text and I’ll find out why. I just pray that all the difficulties and issues that she’s had will resolve themselves overtime.
That household is all sick, just a general viral kind of thing so they will not be joining us for Thanksgiving tomorrow. But my other daughter and my son will be here along with my sister-in-law’s family. See you tomorrow

Happy Thanksgiving my friends! Thankful for each of you here and the fun and somewhat quirky relationship that we share. Quirky in that we will never see each other, but do share our love of crafting.
Got a few household items to take care of here, and then start cooking for my somewhat smaller crowd. Dd#1 and her family are still sick.
See ya later

Happy Thanksgiving to you all I hope you have a wonderful holiday and that you get to spend it with family and/or friends. It's a pretty sunny day here and 60 degrees right now. Hope your weather is nice too. I finished the Hometown Charms quilt top this morning and I'm happy with how it turned out. I also made some more of the pieces for the star blocks for the Christmas quilt I'm working on and hope to have those blocks done by this weekend. I also hope I can finish the pinwheel blocks. Have a great day!
