WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C75D2, 8 water, 27 points, all ghgs except only Β½ dairy, no exercise, G11 Y0 R1 December.
I woke up at 2:30 AM Monday morning and watched two more episodes of This is Us. It just gets better and better.
Jan β What a lovely weekend you had. Hopefully it wasnβt too difficult getting back to reality.
Edesia β I had the feeling that I had read Intuitive Eating. Turns out I did in 2011. I had deleted it from My Kindle. I called Amazon and sure enough I was able to get it back. Itβs the 2nd edition but that should be ok. The big difference, I think, is the new section about applying her techniques to children. I remember very little about it and will hopefully profit from a second reading. I need something!!!!!
Beth β Thanks for setting us up on the new board.
Louise β I was going to say the same thing to you. I donβt think your binges are anywhere near as extreme as mine. I figured it will take me until the 2nd of January to finally complete cycle 75. Iβve been on this one forever.

Good morning!
Nice to see the sun today. My exercise yesterday consisted of shoveling the porch and the rest of the driveway. Then I worked up a sweat unpacking boxes from Amazon and then breaking them up to put in recycling!
Food wise I'm having lots of successes mixed in with a continued struggle to resist urges and stick to tracking. Not sure why I'm fighting it right now but "why" is not really worth struggling with as well. Just keep plugging! Off to pre-track todays food...
DH is working from home today and is going for an MRI on his knee today. he will likely end up having it scoped after the holidays (something I've had done 3 times so we've got plenty of experience!)
I found a place in my new kitchen to store my food processer, blender, spiralizer AND crockpot! No more hauling those things to and from the basement!!!
Edesia, thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Intuitive Eating book...I typically don't read books about eating but that one does sound good (I did read Beck). I'm glad it's helped you to think about carbs in a different way. I have ALWAYS found that restricting categories of (non-processed) foods is counterproductive for me. When I say restricting, I or course do NOT mean practicing portion control (which IS a struggle).
waves & hugs to all!!!

Morning, BFF's! Nice to see the sun today. Just think, in 8 days, the daylight hours will start getting longer! Nothing much to report. I'm happy there is a break coming up, but scrambling to get lots done before then. TTYL
Beth - You are one of the people I think would find the book interesting, especially since you did Core for so long. It's not a rules book, kinda' the opposite.
Nancy - If I had read the IE book a few years ago I would have thought it was crazy and dismissed it outright because I was in a different place. If you do look it over again, I look forward to your thoughts.
Lori - I haven't tried uploading a pic, yet. My only suggestion is to check the format of your photo. If it's a TIFF or other large format, you can save as a JPEG to compress the file. You may lose some clarity, but the file will be smaller and may work.

Although not perfect by any stretch a much better day and I am calling it Green.
Day started with an appointment at the VA hospital. It was early enough that I wasn't able to go to church. I had to put up with crazy people on the Interstate who were driving at or above the normal speed limit on a road where the 45 mph lowered hazard speed limit was in effect. There was a truck applying sand and salt in one of the northbound lanes. The southbound lanes were backed up with two police cars on the side but I don't find any indication that there was an accident. Even at the slower speed I got there in plenty of time and found parking right away.
Was back home before 10 and the carpenter came to do the work on the back side of the house. He still needs to get the gutter over the front door. The new trim board is covered with icicles though. My wreath also has some of them.
I went out for a walk. Had to be careful, I slipped several times. My fingers were numb when I got back. My gloves have metallic liners in them that are supposed to reflect heat back to your hand. I've always got cold hands though and I'm beginning to think I don't have enough heat to reflect. I have to try some mittens I think. The problem with that is I can't start or stop the stopwatch on my Vivofit. Nor can I do much of anything with my hands like getting the key in the door.
Beth-we had a nice sunny day here today too. I didn't try to shovel a path to the gas meter. The snow there is actually lower than I thought it was although it is a rather narrow path. Nice that you were able to find storage for those utensils. Breaking up boxes for recycling isn't one of my favorite things either.
Edesia-I'm looking forward to the Winter Solstice also. I have my window candles coming on about 3:40 and off around 11:00 PM. So they should be on before it gets dark right through then.
Waving to Nancy and Lori.
