luanne, one of my former friends was like that. She'd have voted for daffy duck as long as it was an "R".

People like that cut off their own nose to spite their face. They'd seriously rather have any republican no matter how bad they are over a stand up person who has the D in front of their name. Funny thing is these same people would actually benefit from the D-led policies.

amyrs, she will still caucus with the Dems and keep her committee assignments. Don't forget, Bernie is now registered Independent, and Angus King is also an Independent. I believe they both vote mostly along Democratic lines.

At the gym this morning, it was all over Fox News about Sinema (they always keep a TV on with Fox and one with CNN). What's funny is they say it's because she's dropping the Dems and tends to find them way too radical. They may not be totally wrong on that given her voting record, but of course they hyperbolize it with how over the top Dems are these days and of course they didn't mention she was going Independent. They made it sound like she jumped to the other side. She's up for reelection in 2024 I think. I hope AZ voters can just get her out.

Lol. Over the top? Things like, oh I don't know, a woman having control over her own body and future? Women and men having the right to marry the person they love? The freedom to worship the Goddess or God you believe in? The freedom not to believe in a Supreme Being at all? Equal pay? The list goes on but you know what I mean. I'd rather be over the top than at the bottom of a barrel full of sludge.

The explanation that makes the most sense to me is she doesn't care for her chances in 2024 in AZ vs. current Rep. Ruben Gallego, a Democrat. This way unless the Democratic establishment supports her, she splits the vote between herself and Gallego, and the Republican candidate would win. David Brooks described it as holding the Democratic party hostage. Once endorsed by Schumer no other Democratic candidate will get financial support from the party. The Democratic party handles Bernie Sanders the same way, endorsing him and putting paid to any actual Democratic candidate running against him. A case of opposites, since Bernie is far to the left and Sineman is to the right. Politics is a juggling act.

Funny to me how Bernie is considered in this country to be so far to the left when all he wants are for our taxes to go towards the basics that other developed countries have had for years and for the extremely wealthy to help pull their weight.
I agree with you that she doesnโt give a crap what happens in 2024. She got her payouts from corporate donations and can rest comfortably and selfishly for life.

I actually think Biden agrees with Bernie but only pushes what is possible versus Krysten. I think Biden's grandchildren believe something akin to Bernie and Biden haS THEIR ear. Biden did not get rich off his Senate career.

Amy, I agree. I read something that said Biden was also outspoken in favor of gay marriage while VP and this was when Obama would only admit to granting civil unions but not outright marriage, until he later gave in (not sure if that was due to being timid to back it or if he truly was against it at the time).
