Fred asked me last night if we have to run errands today or can we just stay home? I laughed and said no we’re staying home as I have laundry to do especially the towels I had on the sofa for any accidents Bailey would have so he’s going to steam mop the floors and we’ll move the dining room table into the living room so we have full access to the floor there. Then tomorrow is going to be the last nice day for a while so will get out in the backyard and pick up any business left by Bridgette and Bailey. Fred did ask me how was it outside yesterday morning and I said have no idea as I wasn’t out! Then when I saw the temp and saw how windy it was I was very glad I didn’t have to be out in it. Of course then we were out in it running errands.

Guess when you can't sleep the worst thing you can do is get on computer. but here I am I did put the dishes from last night in dish washer and made some iced tea. Thought I wanted some but now that is made do not want it.
The wind has died down and rain has stopped but don't see any snow!!
Sorry about the big picture, thought I would try a new site and really liked the picture. when it said big they meant big!!

Things were rationed during WWII. I remember having brown sugar on my oatmeal. To this day I will not use brown sugar. YUK! When Mama passed away and we were going through her things we found ration stamps. My brother has them. Rubber dolls were very expensive. I wanted one but Santa brought me a composition baby doll.

Lucy, thanks for the memories. Those were tough times for everyone but I think more so for a single parent raising kids. Of course, I didn't realize how tough at the time. We always had something to eat & a roof over our head. That was all we really needed back then. I never heard Mom complain either - but what good would it have done anyway? Everyone was in the same boat.
Hard to believe it is December already. Don't blink or you will miss December & it will be 2023!
It's a cold morning here - 17 degrees when I got up at 6:30, but it will warm up to a whopping 30 something. Today we are taking youngest DD & SIL out for lunch. It is her birthday - 61 years young. That's when I realize how old I am. I have felt pretty darn good the past couple days. Two days isn't very long except when you're in pain & I'm thankful for every day without.
I will pick up a prescription when we are out today. We get our meds from a pharmacy at a grocery store so I'm sure I'll get a few other things too.
I have a beef roast in the slow cooker for supper. I didn't use it much for several years but do now & really like it.

I also have some ration cards from my parents. One of the books my book club read talked about ration cards, so I took my ration cards in for a "show and tell". I have a small load of laundry in the dryer. I still need to get the garbage ready to go out. It's 27 degrees outside and sunny.

Phyl was correct the Riddle answer is umbrella.
Got all my laundry done and Fred steamed the floors. He is going to steam the furniture now but said the areas we sit in he will do just before we go to bed.
Just did not sleep well last night so got up at 3. Wish I could have slept longer but I knew if I tried to force it I would have a headache all day.

Hi!
The high temperature here, today will probably be around 48º. Anything below 50º is a little chilly for me -- then anything above 70º is hot. I'm so picky!
Had a phone call yesterday from a woman whose mother is thinking about renting a mobile home lot. We would really like to make the community a haven for empty-nesters. That is what Dad and Mom had intended when they installed it. Senior living apartments have taken over the market during the past decade though.
Sandy, you and Fred are sure getting things back in order. Bless you both.
Will try to be back to read this evening! ~~Molly

Oh Sandy, I would have a head ache if I didn't get enough sleep. And then groggy all day if I got too much!! Such is life these days. Laundry in washer and the Christmas glasses are in the cupboard. I did toss a couple of glasses that were old and didn't match anything else in the cupboard. I did get a new set of drinking glasses not long ago and those are ready to take to basement. Emma says she is too old for baby glasses so I got some new juice glasses and they are skinny as bigger ones don't last long in her small hands. I do not like plastic type glasses. But the sippy cup will go to Charlie when she is here over Christmas.

Brrrr, the sun was shining until noonish then it went into hiding. The high is to be low 50s. It is windy too.
Bill came for lunch and rumicub and picked up water for me on his way.
Not anything to report. Just trying to keep warm.
