Good morning Chicks.I keep looking to make sure I haven't missed the thread.I can't believe it's 9:30 and I'm the first one here.I'm usually late to the party.LOL.I hope that means some of you are sleeping in or shopping or doing something fun.
Karen,I hope everything goes well for you and Phoebe today.I hope she isn't too hyper in the car.
Chele,I hope you are feeling better today.
My back is still hurting but so far not as bad as yesterday. We are going to Elgin to buy cattle feed and then head to Bastrop for shopping and will eat lunch out.I may or may not walk this afternoon depending on how much shopping I do in HEB and WM over there.Depends on my back.
Waving to all and hope you all have a good day.

Becky, thanks for the start. Glad to hear your back is a bit better. How did all the shopping go? Karen, hope all went well with Phoebe. Chele, how are you feeling? I hope the stomach bug hasn't gotten you down. Liz, I hope you're getting a chance to relax. My DS said she needs a day to herself now that the company has left. I don't blame her! We got DM a new printer since hers is apparently possessed. DS had spent some time trying to get it to print after a nonexistent paper jam. When I rebooted DM's PC, it started printing nonstop. One of the things it printed was instructions on clearing a paper jam. Someone is just messing with us! Did you decide to replace the Frye boots? Do you wear walking shoes on your commute and switch when you get to work? I even see people doing that on my walk into work which I'm sure is much shorter than yours. Linda, that's nice that you didn't have the mob for Christmas for a change and got a chance to relax.

Hope it went ok for you and Phoebe todAy
i saw the goals thread on the 60s board, I think it can be any goal you want and what you do today to reach it. Mine is walking farther and faster and strengthening legs for trip in March. Could not walk at all Nov. 17 and am managing half mile dog walks plus stores now.
Three pound gain this month and richly deserved ...and lower gi is letting me know about it. Dialing back and getting ready to reset after company for dinner Thursday. DH brought home pound of Sees, two bags of German wager cookies and a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts this week. We are talking threats from me if anything else comes home. We already had brandy filled candy, cooked, chips and cheese puffs. He has been in an eat what I want mood since the election. That needs to stop.

Thanks for the start, Becky. Phoebe and I were at the vet hospital when you started the thread. I didn't do anything on the internet this morning because of all the things I needed to do around the house before we left. The bandages are off so now we have to keep her from bothering the stitches and also need to keep her calm because there is some internal swelling around the wound that will have to be drained if it gets worse. That means going against my feelings and keeping her on the anti-anxiety meds all the time. I will take her back 2 weeks from yesterday to get the stitches out. Then we start chemo. We saw lots of dogs today and Phoebe greeted each one of them. That's the part of going there that she likes.
Becky, I hope the back is feeling some better. Did the Bio Freeze help some? How were things at HEB? Where did you have lunch and what did you have? Did you walk after you got home?
Kathy, weren't we discusing celebrity deaths yesterday and today we have lost Carrie Fisher. Truly sad. And we still have 4 days left in 2016. I'm glad you got Mom's computer taken care of. I had one of those possessed printers with a non-existent paper jam and I remember it being a pain to get it to work, so sometimes best just to start fresh.
Did you get your new boots and get Gary's exchange made for the correct size, Liz? I've done that with Dale before. It's such a pain.
Chele, how are you feeling? Are Iggy and Teddy taking good care of you?
Linda, are you recovered from Christmas Eve yet? How is your weather? I hope it's better than it has been lately.
We had rain for our drive today but at least temperatures were in the upper 50s so no potential problems with ice. The sun is shining now but the temps are supposed to drop over night. Once again, the weather can't figure out what it wants to do. Phoebe did behave in the car but was a bit wound up while we were there, despite having all her meds with breakfast. Maybe she has ADHD and I've never noticed because I liked having a dog with some energy.

Good Evening Chicks and thanks for the start Becky. Becky - I hope you had a good day today without too much pain in the back or knee while out and about shopping. I ran errands for a few hours this afternoon. The hip bothered me intermittently but I think that's just the way it's going to be until I have it replaced. Karen - sounds like things went pretty good with the trip to the vet school today. I hope the swelling around the wound dries and Phoebe doesn't need to go back to have it drained. Keeping her from her stitches must be a rather interesting challenge. I know if that was Zoe or Ralphie, I'd probably need to sedate them or put a muzzle on them . How are YOU feeling? How is the head and sinuses? Will the anti-anxiety meds keep her quiet or just make her drowsy and hammered down? You both are champs for hanging in there and going through this together! I did exchange Gary's slacks today which was good and picked up a hat and scarf set for my new brown coat. Gary will probably be surprised that I also picked up a snow shovel/pusher; they were on sale and I had a coupon and figured since the medal one he has is just too heavy for me, this would be a reasonable alternative . Kathy - if I am wearing my flats I usually just commute in them but if it is a "heel" day then I will wear my Dansko's or sneakers and change in the office. I was online today trying to figure out if I want to just get the same boot but with a back zip or whether I want a different boot. Decisions, decisions LOL. I have waited so long to have a pair of these and now I don't know what to do. How is your week off going so far? We had almost spring-like weather today with a high of almost 60. It is supposed to drop down tonight and they are saying snow showers for Thurs/Fri. This has been one crazy winter so far! Chele - how goes it with your head? What are you and Iggy up to this week? How has his system been? Linda - I know what you mean about the food! DS sent us home with her most delicious Christmas cookies, received Godiva chocolates as a gift and have my big nemesis peanut butter Christmas trees to battle. Gaining only 3 for the month is not bad though. I think I gained more than that in 5 days! Great job on the walking and setting the goal for yourself. You've been making steady improvement and that is terrific! Gary should be home shortly I would think. I have to get his lobster cakes into the oven and figure out if I want a salad or just a smoothie for dinner. Ciao for now lovely ladies!

Kathy,I actually decided only to shop in WM and let Kenneth do the shopping in HEB b/c I didn't want to hurt my back anymore than it already was.It hasn't hurt as much today but that's prob b/c I didn't walk b/c by time we got home my knee was hurting as well.I bought some Salon Pas cream and had Kenneth put it on my back and I put it on my knee.I hope you had a good day.
Linda,It's good you can walk longer now esp walking in stores.I didn't even get off plan much and I have still gained 3 lbs.I'm hoping it's my wonky scale.
Karen,How did Phoebe do?I figured you were busy with Phoebe this morning and I didn't expect to see you start the thread.I hope you can keep Phoebe from bothering her stitches. It is a shame you have to keep her on anxiety meds to keep her calm. It's good she likes the other dogs there.Scooter will not go near another dog when we take her to the vet.She is scared of them yet there are 2 dogs that come on our property but never get close enough to the house and she will bark at them.
The Bio Freeze didn't help much but I bought some Salon Pas cream today and I'm not sure if it will help yet or not.I didn't go into HEB but he said it was a zoo in there.WM is always busy in Bastrop.I had given Kenneth 2 gift cards to Whataburger and our friends gave us another one so that's where we went.I had the grilled chicken salad with low fat herb vinaigrette and Kenneth had the patty melt.I didn't try to walk after we came home b/c I didn't want to aggravate my back plus my knee was hurting more but I got more than enough steps in.Tomorrow will be another Curves day.I heard about Carrie Fisher today. That was sad.
Liz,I'm sorry your hip is still hurting you. That is spring weather for you.Our high was only 75 today thank goodness. It felt good. It's already down to 64 but I think it's supposed to get up to 77 tomorrow. After eating out at lunch I wasn't all that hungry so I just made myself a salad with a HB egg and 1 tbsp of walnuts with lite Italian dressing and a ff Greek protein yogurt.I always add some kind of animal protein but this sounded good just like it i fixed it and it was.
Chele,I hope your tummy is better today.Do you think you have a stomach virus.I hope it's not the flu.

Quick check in: haven't eaten in two days, my head hasn't stopped hurting, staying in bed. I hope Phoebe feels better soon and your back stops aching, Becky. Will have to catch up on other news.
