The Republicans in the House don't want to get rid of him because they need his vote. Hope the investigations get him. If he resigns who would have the power, or responsibility, to replace him? I guess it would be a special election, and it could be a Democrat who would replace him. Members of the GOP, including some House members, are calling for his resignation.
And I just read that the GOP is already lining up someone to replace him.
~From NBC NYWhat Happens if George Santos Resigns?
Under the House Vacancy Clause in the U.S. Constitution, states have "Executive Authority" to hold a special election if a seat in the House becomes vacant. Each state can determine its own timing and circumstances of the election. In the state of New York, Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul would have 10 days to call a special election to replace Santos, which would have to be held between 70 to 80 days from the date of that proclamation -- if Santos resigns this year, during the first session of a Congress. If Santos resigns during the second session of Congress, the amount of time between the vacancy and the next general election would play a role. Unlike the Seventeenth Amendment, which allows states to temporarily fill a vacant Senate seat before a special election is held, the House Vacancy Clause does not give states the same power in the House.

As if that jack*ss will ever voluntarily resign. Literally no self-awareness. Even when people are telling him what he should do.

He probably figures if trump, a deceitful liar and cheat, can get away with anything, so can he.
Liars and cheats know what and who they are, they know right from wrong. They just don't give a damn.
They only care about themselves, power, greed, and themselves again.

Me too! It's sad but true. What a bunch of cry babies.
Perhaps if they'd take a good look at themselves and take a personal inventory, maybe they'd see some things they could change or rearrange to make them more attractive and trustworthy to voters.
They are spending a lot of time trying to make President Biden look bad. All that does is make them look immature and nasty.
They seem to be Hell bent on dividing the country. Is that their goal? Is that what they think will make America great?
America is already great now that there are 2 mature adults in the WH.

Birdgal, they certainly love when they feel that have the perfect “gotcha” moment. I saw a meme today that said the discovery of classified docs at Biden’s house vs Trump is that Biden walked out of the store with something that he forgot to pay for (happened to me at Target the other day) and when the alarm went off he came back in and worked with the store staff to see what happened. In trump’s case when the alarm went off he jumped into a car and peeled off.

Cult members will never look at their leader with any semblance of objectivity.

True! It's a little scary isn't it? I think if trump told them all to drink a glass of, I'll say lemonade, they would gladly gulp it down.
It's more like a cult than a true political party.
I feel bad for true Republicans. They must wonder wth happened to their Party. I wonder about that too.

Look at Reagan and the trickle down theory as well as the shutting down of every perceived money drain even if it was beneficial to the general public. I.e the mental health facilities.

De Santis proposing a bill that will permanently outlaw any mask or vaccine requirements in Florida. I will not be going there anytime soon. Remember when he shamed the school children that were masked on stage when he was giving some speech? Now a portion of the whole Florida population will probably be doing that to anyone wearing a mask. If they are not already.

My bff moved to Florida some years back. She moved for several reasons. Her husband had passed away, she was burned out in the Paradise Camp Fire, and her older daughter and family (with the grandsons) live in Florida. She told me that when she first moved there she was impressed with De Santis, thought he was doing some good things. Now her position has completely changed and she sees him for the idiot he is.
