DeSantis is a fool and a jerk. It's none of his business if I wear a mask. I hope thoughtful people ignore him and protect themselves. What will he do? Put us all in jail?
He needs to learn how to govern and leave We The People alone concerning our health and well being. It's none of his business! If he or his family and friends don't want to wear a mask that's none of my business.
He needs to stick to politics and stay out of health and well being. I'm surprised this fool hasn't tried ban seat belts! Ugh. Get him out of here.

One more bon mot from the GOP:
Rick Allen (R-GA) says GOP going after Social Security because "people want to work longer". And I quote:
"Many people are coming up to me on walkers saying, Rick, we'd like to work into our 90s to make America great."
BTW, he looks pretty old himself. He is working hard making crazy statements.

What a crock. If people want to work into their 90's they will. Period. I can't imagine a rational older person walking up to a politician and saying something like that. Asking permission at 90? To make America great? Give me a break. You want to keep working? Find a job and just do it. Or, start a business of your own.
You're 90 and asking permission? Are you 90 or 9?
Or, is a certain politician making that up? Politicians don't make things up, do they?

If they're 90, they likely already did their part to KEEP America great at some time during their lives. If a man is 90, he probably served in at least 1 war. Trumpy and his cohorts wouldn't understand that because they were draft dodgers or lucky timing not to have to serve.

The GOP House will trot out nonsensical bills for the foreseeable future, and the Senate will not pass them. Or Biden will veto. It's all theater of the absurd.

The should make it like a real job: here's your quota. If you don't meet it, you don't get paid. Force them to work together.

This is why it's so ridiculous that we lost the house majority. We could have at least made some further and meaningful progress. Instead we get the maga clowns sh!tshow that McCarthy and 6 lousy repubs with no spine gave to them.

I read that an election denier, who lost his November bid for state rep in New Mexico, was arrested for shooting up four houses of opponent party lawmakers. Others were also arrested for the shootings and law enforcement said the election loser was the ring leader that hired the others. Talk about becoming radical @@ luanne have you heard about this?

The reps are no longer a legit governing body, imho. I see them as a bunch of clowns piling out of their tiny little clown car, wearing those BIG floppy clown shoes, squirtung other people in the face with an old time seltzer bottle, prancing around while pointing at and mocking other people. The whole world is watching and probably laughing. It's sad, it's a shame and a slap in the face to democracy. Radical angry sore losers who have no idea how to play well with others or even how to discuss our differences and perhaps compromise. Nope. Shoot em up instead. What a pathetic lot of losers.

Oh yeah, it's all over the news here. He didn't do the shooting himself, he hired others. Supposedly he did try to shoot at the last target but his gun jammed. He claims he never conceded the race, even though he was beaten something like 3 to 1. And also he has a criminal background, convicted and served time for a smash and grab. His opponent (the one who won) tried to get him removed from the ballot due to this.
Here is one article about him in a local paper:

I read about this yesterday! The article also said that this same ring leader had already been convicted 7 years earlier for some other kind of violent crime involving firearms and had literally stalked the houses of the officials he tried to have shot by going directly door to door to each of them to complain that his >50% loss was due to fraud. He sounds like an absolute nutbag. This election denier stuff is so out of control. We can all thank our cowardly former president for that madness.

I'm sure Russia, China, North Korea and Iran are laughing. The West and our allies are probably worried. If the U.S. can be this dysfunctional, what does it portend for even younger, weaker democracies? I agree Bird, it's sad.
luanne thank you for the link.

On the worldwide stage, I sure hope Germany decides to send tanks to Ukraine. There's some deal that says they have to go through Germany, no matter what country is supplying them. From what I see and read, this would make a huge difference in favor of Ukraine's chances.
