HOPE to hear from you all soon. Am thinking Sue is on her cruise, Holly you are knee deep in work again by now I imagine. JoAnne I hope you are doing okay health wise—and husband too.
I took my e car to St George, UT last weekend for a 3 day clay conference which was fun—learned a lot. This week I did a project—3 days in the making—that I’ve wanted to do for about a year but didn’t know that I had the skills—finally just jumped in—and it worked. At least it’s built and ready to dry and bisque fire. No idea how I will glaze it but will cross that bridge when I get there. Anyway, I built a horse with a base on it like I often do, but I painted a scene inside the base and cut out a viewing portion—it looks pretty cool. Now I want to do more—have several ideas I want to try.
Loving my car—love driving it so much.
we have had several very windy days—got one walk in but missed yesterday and today!
got another steroid shot in my AC joint in shoulder—he thinks I may only need one more—go back in 3 weeks. It really is a lot better but not altogether perfect either.
we have reservations to fly to Florida to see our friends who moved there and my cousin—hate the thought of it as I really do not like Florida—I think it’s because I do not have good memories of living there when first married. But we owe our friends a visit as we bailed out early 3 years ago when we were there for my cousin-in law’s funeral and I got asthma so bad. We go February 20-25.

Holly, JoAnne—hope you find this. Wondering how the cruise is going for Sue. Back at yoga and pilates—hope to add weights in next—find out in 2 weeks. Have been building new things with clay—horses again!
We had a couple pretty cold days for Vegas—down to 30º—now it’s going to get a bit warmer and I think that will be our last cold snap. I had my yard guy did up all the iris rhizomes—now have to separate and replant—oh what a big job that will be. We need to get some bags of soil as the beds are so bad.

Hi All,
This semester has been a doozy. We are down 2 librarians at the moment, so we’re juggling covering everything.
I got an Instant Pot for Christmas and have been playing around with recipes. I made Chicken chili last night. It turned out pretty good.
My immediate family is going to DC in March. I’ve been before, but we’ll get to do some tours that I didn’t before. I want to get back to traveling again, but it feels like all of that money is going into house stuff now.
Hope all is well!

I’d love to go to DC again also—I think you could go every year and always have something new to do. We leave for Florida on the 20th—really want to get some clay done before I go but I’m so behind on glazing that that’s all I’ve been doing—not my favorite part of the process.
our temps have warmed up but today has been windy all day!
Have been fighting off some binging but not always succeeding—need to probably track my food a couple weeks to just get back in full control—don’t know why I started doing that again but I know I can turn it around before I am getting into trouble with my clothes—but why the heck ==guess it’s just always going to be something I turn to.

Hi! I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. We are having an amazing time. We just left South Georgia Islands area and it was awesome. We went to an island that had half a million king penguins, mind blowing. We stepped foot on Antarctic land. There have been less than a million people who have ever been to Antarctic and even less than that have stepped foot land. Can't believe we are part of the group. It is so beautiful. I will email some photos to you guys. There are many crew members and passengers on board that we know from previous trips, and we have met many new people. Many private parties and events that we are invited to. So much socializing, complete opposite of our life in Tucson. I took some beginner Bridge lessons, something new for me. It was interesting but not something I would continue when back home so I stopped the lessons. Sounds like you are all keeping busy!

Hi All,
I finally finished up my library instruction sessions this week. We basically have scheduled sessions with different classes to go over library resources for that particular class’s assignment. Seems like college kids these days have no attention span whatsoever.
It was 82 degrees here today and the nighttime low is only in the 60s. All of the early spring plants are in full bloom and pollen is abundant already, ugh. The West Coast looks like it is getting blasted with snow. What a weird winter.
My dog is crazy and I think the fence has had the opposite effect, lol. I’m hoping in the next few months this puppy phase will ease up. She’s a year and a half as of today.
Sue, that is really cool! I look forward to seeing the pictures.
Joan, hope all is well with you.

Wow, cannot wait to see the pics, Sue—have always wanted to visit Antarctica. We are aboard a flight now home to Vegas where there have been snow flurries three times in the past week—once before we left for Orlando. The west is inundated with rain, snow, wind and low temps. Meanwhile we were in 88º on Thursday when we visited my cousin in Melbourne! Absolutely crazy is right, Holly!
Had fun, eating lunches out, visiting, shopping little independent shops, etc. didn’t do anything spectacular which is what we wanted—our cruise BF’s live there full time now and we never run out of good conversation. Their house is beautiful—she should be staging homes to sell—she has a real talent for int. Design and organization.
So great that you are loving your trip, Sue! I’ve started to learn bridge many times in my life—I actually really like it but DH just doesn’t want to learn so to play I’d have to go on my own—not worth it. My mom played with her bridge friends every month—there were 12 ladies who did so for years and years.
Holly, I didn’t realize how long it takes dogs to get to adulthood and calm down some! DD’s Australian cattle dog is getting better and better but still pup like at times—right about the time you think he’s grown up!

Caught DH’s cold he brought home from Florida—felt really bad last night and this morning—still, so,so. But functioning enough to glaze some pots. Just hate having a cold tho—want to play cards tomorrow but thinking we will have to cancel to keep from passing this on.

Watched the video this afternoon and loved it—what a trip you are having. And now to the Amazon! Oh my gosh—think I’d rather stay in the cold Antarctic—I’m so afraid of snakes and things that I relate to Amazon!
all the whales—and penguins—wow—experience of a life time!

Hi Everyone, it’s been awhile. Sue, are you back from your cruise? Joan, enjoying your pictures on FB of your pottery. Glad Sydney and Tanzi are able to tolerate each other at least sometimes.
My brother helped me get some stuff hung and we planted some seeds. I have several kinds of tomatoes, soy beans, broccoli, tatsoi and chard so far.
Kira is enjoying her pen, but I know she’s lonely. I am considering getting another dog to give her some company, but I need one that can balance her out. She’s very high energy.
We’re heading towards the last few weeks of the semester, so things are crazy and there’s lots of drama going on.

Not having such a good time here—our youngest son, Steve the park ranger had an accident and has severely fractured his skull. Was flown to Vegas on Wednesday night, emergency surgery on Thursday and Friday to stop brain bleed and to remove one side of the skull to accommodate swelling. He is in the NV trauma unit here—whole family has been here for two days helping and supporting us —mostly on vigil to make sure we get to talk with any dr and nurse working with him. They have taken his sedation away and now he is on pain killers (fentanyl) so they can start to see what and how much brain activity he can manage—the best news came in a minute ago in that he heard a command to do a thumbs up and could do it with his right thumb—first response to a verbal command—we will hold on to that. His brain injury is on the right which controls the left side of the body so perhaps when the swelling goes down he will be able to do the thumbs up on that side—hoping so as that would show that it’s swelling related and not paralysis. If he survives this and continues to improve at some point they will give us an expected level of quality of life. He is 47 and is surprising all of us with a few indications that he has awareness. Keep a positive thought going for us.
