Ruth, it was a super close football game- but if neither was a team you wanted then I do not blame you for not watching. It’s going to sound crazy, but there is something so nice about sitting in a waiting room while your car is being serviced and working on your crochet project. Do you think you will take the cabbage patch afghan to work on? That will feel nice dropping off two bags of hats to help people keep their heads warm. Regarding that book I finished it because it was an audio book, so I could listen on my phone while doing housework. I never would have been able to read it. The book was absolutely written to clear their names, and of course did not even give any consideration to the other side of the story- it was all finger pointing by Harry.
I slept poorly last night, but Dd texted me and she has two sick kids, and stayed home today. I went back to bed and feel pretty decent now. Got a short errand to run this am and then will get a walk in.

Hello Hope you are all doing well today and having nice weather. It's milder here and the rain is gone, so a pretty nice day in February. I went out to do grocery shopping this morning. I'm going to try just going the store every other week. We'll see how that goes Thanks for your thoughts/suggestions/offers on the bitty house quilt. I thought about it yesterday and I think I will make a smaller quilt. So now I feel less pressure with this project, since I can work on it when I want and not "have" to work on it every month. The Zoom thing yesterday was nice. We got to see about 25 minutes of the new show that was on last night and then about an hour of question and answer with five of the actors from the show. I enjoyed seeing them and hearing their answers to viewer's questions. No quilting for me today, but I hope to get back to it tomorrow. I still have those four panels sandwiched and I just need to pin them and then machine quilt them. I thought I'd need to get out my bigger machine, but I might try quilting them on my smaller one. Hope you all get to do some crafting too. Take care

Ginny, yes I always enjoy sitting in the waiting area of the car dealer. It's always so nice and quiet and no interruptions. They have coffee and tea available. Today I had a nice chai spice tea. They also have snacks. I didn't get any nasty surprises there today. Two years ago was when they came to the waiting area to tell me they had found that rodents had chewed my wires.I know you don't like KC and I heard it was a very close game. My cousin is a big Eagles fan so she's not happy. Did you get that walk in? How are your sinuses today?
CJ, I'm glad that you came up with a plan to help you feel better about this current quilt. Doing any crafting under pressure sure takes away the joy of creating something.
I crocheted at the car dealer for a little over and hour. I made one quick stop on the way home then came home and dh and I had an early dinner. He cooked pork chops and I warmed the mashed potatoes I made yesterday.Today the weather was wonderful. There could have been a little less wind but because it was 50 degrees even the wind didn't spoil the nice day. Starting tomorrow we're in for another cold spell

Good morning!!!
Ruth, that is great news that the rodent population left your car alone and did not chew wires this time. That sounds like a special treat - did you enjoy the chai spice tea? (I like it once in a while). How sweet of Dh to make dinner- or at least get the pork chops prepared. Sometimes it’s nice to get dinner over with earlier and the kitchen all cleaned up so you can enjoy the evening. So happy for you that you had a good weather day.
CJ- great idea to adjust the size of the tiny house quilt. Make if the size you want. This adorable quilt should make you happy when you are done with it, not miserable as you remember the torture it was to make it. Glad you enjoyed the zoom presentation. A nice way to meet the cast and see how they really are in the comfort of your home!! Hope that it works for you to not shop for food every other week- sure sounds like a good plan.
I got a little bit of embroidery done yesterday and finished the inner border on the PMQ yesterday. Now have to break out the directions and read a few times to get what I have to do next. Because I do not know what the final project is supposed to look like, it takes several reads to get the directions figured out.

Hello - Hope you are doing well today Ruth - I'm glad there wasn't anything wrong with your car and you were able to get it serviced and enjoy some crocheting while you were there. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to get the border on your PMQ quilt and hope you can figure out the next step. It is sunny and mild here today, nice Valentine's Day weather. Hope your weather is nice too. I made the next block for the Holiday Hoopla quilt along this morning, it's a shamrock block. It's funny because there is a Valentine's block in this quilt along, but Pat Sloan wanted us to make the blocks in the rows she designed for the quilt top so people could go ahead and sew rows together if they wanted. So here's a picture of my block before and after sashing and how the first three blocks are supposed to go together (this is the first row). I may change my layout of blocks, so I'm going to wait before I sew them together. Take care everyone!

Ginny,it's great that you got that inner border done. I hope the directions for the next step are written well so that you will have an easy time doing the rest.
CJ, I think it's an excellent idea to wait to sew the blocks together. You are very good at putting blocks together and may not like the way Pat Sloan does it. I'm sure that her layout if nice and she loves it but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's a good plan for you.
Well, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday the weather was great so I'm glad I changed my app't at the car dealer to Mon from Tues as I originally scheduled it. I saw that it was supposed to snow today and it did start just before noon and really came down and it's still snowing.
In crochet, today I'm finishing a tiny "Fun Fringe" hat. They're very cute but time consuming with all sc and slip stitches.I'll probably work on the cabbage patch stitch blanket later this evening or I might go to my craft cave and get more baby yarn and try another baby item. I need to expand beyond blankets and larger hats.

Good morning!
CJ- the shamrock square is adorable, I totally agree with the idea of putting the blocks in the order that you want. I like the fabrics you used for the shamrock..I am not a huge fan of bright greens but love the way those fabrics seem to play off each other.
Ruth- cannot wait to see what you end up making with the baby yarn! I have a pattern for a sleep sack made for the little ones, but as that is almost a full garment/small afghan i figure it takes a lot of yarn. How much snow did you get?
Embroidered last night. I babysat but then had to rush home to have the house open for the stove serviceman. I wanted to see what he does and ask him a bunch of questions so that I could care for the stove better. As I have only had it for a year, it’s a real learning process for me.
See ya later!

I was thinking of making one of those sleep sacks. I think some also call them cocoons. I did finish the little hat and it's just so cute!! I started a baby sweater but I'm using Herrschner's Teddy Bear yarn which is pretty fuzzy so the first couple rows are a little bit of a challenge. (I did the little hat in Lion Brand POL) I haven't got back to it yet today. I was chatting with ddil on messenger. High here today was supposed to be 14 but in Indiana where she is it was 75.I'd love to be there right now.
I was thinking the same thing about the shamrock block...how all the shades of green and also the various florals and prints work together so well.
Ginny, I'm glad you were able to do some embroidery. Are the grandchildren over their illness?
CJ, you must be busy making beautiful blocks. I hope your day is going well.
I made the app't for dh's MRI and it turns out he's having two and each takes 45 minutes so I'll have a lot of time to crochet while waiting.

Ruth hope that you were able to get a timely appointment (s) for Dh’s MRI. Some tests are still very back logged from covid? Or at least that is what they have told me. That is quite some temperature differential between Indiana and where you live. Wow. I do have a pattern for a sleep sack - it’s crochet, I think. If you want I would get a copy to you- but with the internet, so many patterns are at your fingertips.
Had a warm day today (lov 60’s) and tomorrow the same. Think we get a bit colder over the weekend and at the end of next week there is talk about snow. DGS was a bit tired today, but I was able to get him outside which he appreciated. Glad I have a week off from babysitting. Today went well but it was long. Think the grandkids in one house are over their colds…my youngest DGS seems to be a bit under the weather with a stuffy nose. It’s sad when the little ones are not feeling themselves.
Time to go work on the embroidery. CJ- hope you had a good day G

Hello - Hope everyone is well and the weather isn't bad where you live Ruth - I always enjoy hearing about all your different projects. I hope everything goes well with your DH's MRIs. Ginny - Hope the stove repair went well and you learned alot from the repairman. I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying some embroidery time. This morning I made the most recent block for Pat Sloan's Sweet Childhood Memories quilt along. I also added some sashing and joined some of the blocks together that were ready to do that. Pat Sloan tends to make some of her patterns in chunks of blocks which makes it easy to join the quilt top in pieces as the quilt along is going on instead of waiting until the end to do everything. I still need to work on machine quilting those four quilt panels and I hope to work on them the next few days. I also found another BOM quilt along that I might do. I need to stop watching YouTube videos and finding all these projects Take care!

Good morning!
CJ- thanks for asking- the stove repair went well and I was glad that I was able to watch how the tech did took it apart to work on it. I would not attempt to do everything he did, but some of it is very much doable for me. That is great the Pat Sloan makes the blocks for ease of assembly by the quilter. I would think too that by now you are super used to how her directions are presented- which is an art in itself. By now you have made enough PS blocks that figuring out her directions is probably not a big deal. Do you like the block you just made? And yes, so nice to be able to assemble the quilt early on instead of waiting until all the blocks are done- when they have had lots of time to get wrinkles etc…do you mind machine quilting? It’s kind of fun. Uh oh- you found another BOM. Do you think you will take this project on also? How is your weather? I know we are in for some cooler temps- but still unseasonably warm. And some rain. But still an easier year to heat a home. I just hope that this summer is not excessively hot.
After a long couple of days of babysitting, yes embroidery is just the answer. did not get much done last night but I will say that the directions are a bit lacking, but easy to figure out what the designer intended. But then if I use a different stitch than she asked for, no one will know! It’s a fun project and even though I am proceeding slowly with it, it’s got some areas that are starting to look finished.
Think we have some rain later on. I hope to get a short walk in this am. G

CJ, I hope you can get that machine quilting done without any problem and am glad that the Pat Sloan blocks are such that you are able to put some together as you go and don't have to wait till the end.
Ginny, with most of my appliances using them is simple but there are some features that I never learn how to do. With my newest car the salesperson was supposed to show us how to work everything but he didn't so there are many, many things we don't know about it....not that it's an appliance but it's something we were supposed to have been shown. I'm glad you had good results with that repair teck. It's very frustrating when we buy something new and then after a year something goes wrong.
Well I set the sweater aside and started one in a more user friendly yarn but ended up ripping both out because I was working from a written pattern and this particular pattern designer is one that you can't really understand what she means when she mentions where to put stitches etc.So making her patterns is a lot of trial and error and I'm not up to trial and error right now. The funny thing is, I made this same sweater for my youngest great grandchild and it came out ok. I think my second one was turning out ok but it was turning out to be too large.

Hi Ruth, Funny how we do get into that mode, where trial and error is just not going to work out. Hope you can settle on a pattern that you do not have to stress over and it looks great also. Like you, when Dh and I bought the “new car” the salesman did actually go over a lot of stuff it does, but honestly, I remember a fraction of it. I should remember entrance code for the lock, we did program something and I cannot remember what it was. Think we all have a bunch of appliances that we know only a small fraction of what they do. The stove I just got rid of - because the instrument panel failed, well that did a bunch of fancy things that I used only once and forgot how to use.
Going to go on my grocery store’s web site and download some digital coupons. Ok it’s a pain in the neck, they already have my personal information (frequent shopper card) so it does seem abusive to put the shopper through the nuisance to download digital coupons on the card. I do plan on going there tomorrow morning, not for a lot of stuff but I am running low on some items.
Good night to embroider. Today I did print out some new music for Sunday, and I will have to work on that tomorrow while I have the house to myself. I prefer to make my big mistakes when no one is here to listen to them. 😂

Hello - It was a rainy day here today, but in the 50s so not too cold. I'm hoping too that the summer isn't hot because the winter has been mild. Ginny - Hope you enjoy embroidering tonight. I find all those grocery store cards irritating too. But I've pretty much adjusted to logging into their website and downloading the digital coupons to my card. I also look at the weekly ad online and try to take advantage of buying items that I like when they are on sale. But sometimes I think doing everything has gotten too complicated. I do like the blocks for this quilt along (I'll try to post a picture soon), although they are not my favorite color combination. But it was a way to use fabrics I had that I probably never would have. I don't really like any machine quilting, it's just not my favorite thing and there are so many steps to getting the quilt ready before quilting and trimming and binding it afterwards. Ruth - Sorry that sweater pattern wasn't working out, hope you find something else to work on. When I bought my new car a few years ago the salesman said I should bring it back in one day and he'd show me how to link up my phone and use that system. I never went back because I didn't care about that There are so many features on my car I don't use. The last time I got my oil changed they asked me if I wanted them to reset the computer so it would show when an oil change was needed. The guy looked at the screen in my car and said the program had never been set up I told him it didn't matter because I barely drive 2000 miles before I need an oil change because it's been so long since the last one I spent my quilting time this morning pulling and matching fabrics for three different patterns I want to use to make quilts. One of them is that Planter/Plant quilt I showed you a test block awhile back. I need to do another test block with the fabrics I pulled to see if I like it but I think I have all the fabrics I need for this quilt. Another quilt I want to make I was just a bit short of fabric, so I went online today and found the fabric and bought some more. And the last pattern I had all the fabric for but the border, so I found some fabric that I like for that and ordered it. Of course I couldn't just order two fabrics, so I ended up buying more fabric and a few patterns and a notion I also pulled some fabrics to try out the new BOM I saw on YouTube. I'll try the blocks and see if I want to continue with it. Take care
