This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7" and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Colleen: I am going to start packing my lunch. I think it's a brilliant plan to have a fall back option. I can't imagine gas station food having healthy options, but it depends, I suppose. I have seen apples and bananas available at even the grungiest of places. I think I think of gas station food=nachos with that fake cheese and hotdogs, but I bet it's different nowadays.
Mcat: So sorry to hear about DDad's news. Continue to be optimistic, and schedule your trip asap. Thank you for sharing with us the details you have.
Susan: Did you buy a new beach house? You said you were meeting realtor at the new beach house. You do have a lot going on in your life right now. One foot in front of the next, right?
I've got to get the house moving and out the door. BBL

Morning, Frieda! Is the house on the market yet / again / now? I think packing your lunch is a great idea. I know I get overwhelmed with the day's tasks, and then I can't be bothered to make a decision, so I skip lunch. Trying to do better on that score. Just read back through a few days in an effort to catch up with everyone. I am still catching up with myself after my ten days on the East Coast. One of my coworkers said, "How was vacation?" I wanted to throw something at him. I was working my raggedy a$$ off while I was there. Delivered training to a Wall Street C-suite crowd, got caught up on some of the important productions this season, spent some time at the prison with the men, and then saw my DMIL last weekend. At 92, the old girl is hanging in there. Got a second university teaching gig for next winter, and will open the bank account today for my new org. Hoping we can get that 'DONATE' button onto the website over the holiday weekend. Sending good vibes and love towards Susan and DF, Martha, MCAT and her father, and also to our busy CATs, such as T, wrapping up the academic year, and Shari, in packing central and navigating DM's challenges. Much love, dear women.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies.
Well......so, yeah. The cancer has spread. Everywhere. Dad is transitioning to hospice at home. He's still at the hospital while they stabilize him. He needs to get to a low-flow oxygen instead of the high-flow that he is on now. He should be going home Wednesday. I go up there on Tuesday and return on Thursday. I didn't want to miss DS's last day of school. I can't begin to explain the crazy ride this has been. DMom had a panic attack yesterday when she got the news that the cancer was all over DDad's abdomen. So, she was in ER while DDad was getting a procedure for his pulmonary embolism. It's just nuts.....Anyway, DMom is stable and relaxing. DDad is doing better. I broke the news to DS last night about DDad (I have told him in the past that DDad is sick, but did not use the word cancer). He took it well. Sigh.
On the flip side, went to DS's first round of awards at school. From his classmates he got the Respect award and Most Likely to Invent Time Travel. Which cracked me up. That one was apparently almost unanimous. He also got a Math prize for his participation in Math Olympiad (like Math Club). Next week is academic awards.
I'm sorry I don't have a lot. Looks like we are talking about moving to FB....I'm down with whatever we want to do.....

Hi Friends. Surfacing amid the muck around here. In full productive mode, as best I can. 57°, rainy, crappy frankly. Big headache on board, throwing meds at it.
MCat, so sorry to hear the progress of a diagnosis for your Dad. Prayers for everyone up close, and strength to you. Glad you are going to them.
PKate, good to see you, and I join in on chatting wherever we are. I just want my 'hood, wherever we meet (and get most participation). Good luck w nonprof progress. Cheering you on from NY.
Frieda, thanks for starting us today, and other days. Are your DDs loose for summer yet? Do they still take piano?
Must return to boxes and tape and brain work. Again and again. Best coast to coast.

mcatintx - (((hugs))) and prayers. Congrats to DS on his awards. Hope he is able to go see Grandparents. pkate - I would have thrown something at him too. Just because a person goes out of town doesn't mean it is a vacation. Glad you were able to see the guys at SingSing and your DMIL. Frieda - ((HUGS)) Shari - Hope the rain and headache go away quickly.
I have to quit the late nights as nothing much gets done the next day. Thinking of all.
HUGS

Hello, later in the afternoon post. I got up early today with the intent of working out and somehow I talked myself out of it at 5:15 am. Finally rolled out at 5:45 to get the day going. Then exercise/yoga never happened.
Kate: I like the 'donate' button. I hope that helps.
The house in LJ has been on the market since December. Some looks, some second looks no offers. That listing expired last week, and we have relisted with the realtor we bought the house from. I did plant the St. Joseph statue in the yard, and did the prayer etc. He hasn't worked.
OHHHHHH Missy. I am so sorry about your dad's news. I hope you are going right back there after you see DS's last day of school. I am so sorry. ((hugs))
Not much new here. Trying to keep out of trouble. I will see you all tomorrow.
