Hello - Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and having nice weather. It's back in the 70s here, so nice to get out of the 80s. I finished making the Walk About quilt top and it turned out nice. It was a good way to use the print fabric. This morning I cut fabrics for the next monthly block in one of the quilt alongs I'm doing. I also cut all the rest of the fabrics for the Tumbler quilt and hope to get those pieced in the next few days, then I can be finished with that quilt that I've been wanting to make for over 20 years! It will feel good to have it done Hope you are getting to do some crafting. Take care

CJ, It's great to see you. I was beginning to wonder if everyone was away on vacation or something. I think it's fantastic that you will finally have that quilt done that you've been wanting to complete for 20 years. And you also have the tumbler blocks done so you're really accomplished a lot in a couple days.
DDIL came over today with the kids. It was great seeing them again. They brought home made sourdough bread and choc dhip cookies so right now I'm snacking.
Only crafting I've done so far today is putting my yarn hamper in the bedroom so people wouldn't fall over it but I'm about to bring it out now.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today and having nice weather. It's back in the 80s here again. Ruth - I'm glad you were able to spend time with your DDIL and the kids, it's so nice you are getting to see family Hope you enjoy the bread and cookies. Ginny - I hope you are doing well, it's not like you not to post, so hopefully it's just some computer problem or you are very busy I finished making the Charm quilt with the tumbler blocks this morning. I'm so happy to have that finished. I checked back when I first saw these types of quilts at it was in 1999, almost 24 years ago. I've been wanting to make one ever since, so I'm glad I did that. I'm just deciding if I want to put some borders on it. I also finished making the next block for one of the monthly quilt alongs. There is another quilt along that started last month that I really want to do, so I might try to get caught up with that. Otherwise, I want to get back to making those tiny house blocks. Hope you all get to do some crafting and have a great day!

CJ, good to see you.I'm glad you were able to finish that quilt. After wanting to do it for 24 years it has to feel really great to have it completed. It's only in the high 's here with rain and dreary looking sky. I've been working on a pair of Mary Jane style booties and of course my current blanket wips. In the video the young woman who made the video said to "hdc twice in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch, repeat six times". As I watched she did that first group of two then repeated only 5 times. To me, when you phrase it the way she did, it means do those groups a total of seven times. So I thought I must not have seen it all but, no, there were only enough stitches to do it six times total. Maybe I don't think correctly I got an email from a nursing school classmate wondering if there were enough of us left to have a reunion this sept which is 60 years. Well we're not THAT old that there wouldn't be many left but then there was the pandemic. Of course I wouldn't be going to a reunion in the Buffalo, NY area. I live too far away and am not really that interested that I would spend all that money to get there.

CJ- congrats on completing a quilt that you first set your heart upon making 24 years ago. that is quite something. Did you have the pattern all this time or were you able to find a pattern recently that you liked. I hope you decide to put some borders on it especially knowing that you have wanted to make one of these quilts for such a long time. I was wondering if you were going to resume working on the tiny house quilt. You always find adorable BOM’s to work on, or should I say a month QAL. The walk about quilt top, will you put a border on that quilt?
Ruth, bet those Mary Jane booties are going to be precious and the little strap will help those to stay on little feet. Bet they turn our adoreable. Perhaps you do think correctly and it’s the pattern writer who needs to rethink things. What is the latest afghan you are working on? So nice to hear that DDIL stopped over with the grandkids- and bet those cookies and sourdough bread are great. Funny we were just chatting about sourdough the other day.
Yesterday just never really ended for me. Very late in the day I realized that I probably had not stopped in to chat, sorry about that!!! Today I did get to church…and even after church found myself a bit busy. I did get the border on the baby quilt, and the border really sets off the quilt well. Looking forward to making the quilt sandwich (which I hope to do Tuesday or perhaps tomorrow night) and start quilting that.
