Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, playing a musical instrument, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

I posted last night but looks like I forgot to fit the reply button!
Had a busy weekend babysitting for all 4 of DD’s kids from Saturday am until early afternoon yesterday. DD and DSIL had an out of town wedding that according to DD’s MIL they HAD to attend… ugh. Anyway, the kids were pretty good for me and for the most part my house is back to normal. Of course it was next to impossible for me to get any crafting time in. I tried last night to embroider and then just realized that sleep was more important for me. DGS #2 slept in my bed, but despite his tiny size he takes up a LOT of room (sleeps sideways) and because he was being so good and not crying for his mom - well I felt it best to let him have the bed, which put me on the couch. Slept great last night however.
In a moment of absurdity I see that my post from late yesterday did show up….
Ruth, what seems to be the challenge for finishing that afghan? Do they use a different stitch for it or is it the assembly? Hope your rash is fading away, never to return. And I am glad that the MM order arrived….and that the pink yarn is coming very soon.
CJ- hope you slept well and have plans for a great day.
Trying to get back into this thread this am, I noticed that 9 people are viewing….wow…..feel free to stop in and say hello!!!

Good morning Ginny and the nine people that stopped by to read.Come and join us.
Ginny, I'm glad you were able to sleep well after having to sleep on the couch the previous night.I can understand why sleep was more important than crafting. On this blanket all four sections are made as a continuation of the previous section. I don't know why I had such a hard time with the last section because it's made the same as the others but for some reason, while doing this part, I kept missing some of the repeats. It's done now except for the border which will be only a few rows of single then hdc stitches....at least that's my plan so far.
CJ, I hope you had a good weekend,
Ginny, you'd love it here...it's cold again today.

Hello = Hope everyone is well The weather here has been a lot cooler after the storm - 50s yesterday, around 60 today but sunny. Ginny - I'm glad to hear the grandchildren overnight went well and I'm sure they had a good time. Glad you were able to rest last night. Ruth - Hope you are making progress on your projects. I do still read the blogs where other quilting bloggers post each week - there are actually 5 days a week that I check out blogs. I mostly just scan through the pictures to see if there is anything I like. But some of them I do read what they blog. I pulled out some fabric yesterday that I'd recently bought. It's a light and medium blue, with aqua, paisley print. I'm going to make 4 blocks using this and some white fabric and make a small wall hanging. Just something fun to do. Take care

Well we have had 50 views and only the 3 of us posting.
CJ- glad you are able to keep up with the blogs. There are some great ideas and inspiration out there. Agree that the pictures seem to provide inspiration. Always nice to see what others do. Love paisley fabrics and these fabrics sound very pretty. A wall hanging sounds like a great project!!!
Ruth, well make be you were just tired of that pattern and because of that kept making mistakes. Hope you have finished the afghan and that the border gave you no trouble. I wonder what you consider cool. For a crazy person like myself what you call cooler temps might be normal for me!!!
I am in for cooler temps tonight (30’s) and a somewhat cooler day tomorrow (low 50’s). That is fine by me!!! Gonna head to my sewing room and make bobbins for the baby quilt. MIght start quilting it this evening.

CJ, I'm glad that you keep up with checking the blogs. They do give inspiration I'm sure just like crochet blogs do for me. I want to make them all. The wall hanging sounds very nice. I'm not all that crazy about paiseley but I'm sure you'll make it so that it's very pretty combined with the other fabrics.
Ginny, I'm glad you were able to get some sewing time in. It sounds like you had a pretty good day today.
Today I didn't really get a lot of crocheting done because I was sitting out on the patio area because it turned out to be warmer than I thought. During the night it got down to 32. Tomorrow will be warmer (over 50) so I'll enjoy that. I do have a sc row of edging done on my blanket and now intend to put three or 4 rows of fp/bp hdc around alternating the colors...the color I made the blanket in which is Bundle Up yarn in a colorway called Little Leaf and then that marshmallow color. I think I've made decision on the next blanket which will be made with the yarn I received yesterday from Mary Maxin. I think it will be the traditional block c2c with stripes of each color of pink, dark pink, dark blue, and white. Now I have to decide how many rows of each color and how to arrange them.
See you both tomorrow...oh and all those that are viewing and not coming in to join

Well, I got my bobbins filled and tried to start the quilting process. Unfortunately my one cat decided to help me, and I realized that he was just letting me know that he missed me…I realized I was probably too tired to get much done.
Ruth, did all your yarn from MM arrive? The c2c afghan sounds so pretty, with the stripes of dark pink and dark blue (yes I know that there are other colors). Do you think all the stripes will be the same width?
CJ- hope you slept well and got started on wall hanging!!

Hello Ruth - I'm glad you had nice weather so you could sit outside The colors in your blanket sound pretty. Thanks for the info on the Passport to Quilting. Ginny - Sorry you didn't get a chance to do any machine quilting, hope you will in the next few days. I went out this morning so I probably won't get to work on my wall hanging today. I hope to get it finished this week. Nice weather here, around 60 and sunny. Hope you all get to do some crafting today. Take care!

Ruth, thanks for the info about the Passport to Quilting…will have to check it out and see if I get any ideas. The last thing I need is another project, but I would be smart to look for Christmas gifts that are easy to make. I have read some of Jacqueline Steves blogs before.
CJ- sounds like at least your outing this morning was uneventful and that you arrived back safely. I figure that incident of a few weeks ago you are relieved to get home after running errands without any incident.
Day 5 straight of babysitting is over with. Just glad to be home and hope for a quiet evening. Might try to get some embroidery in.

Ginny, does this mean that you had no babysitting today or is it tomorrow that's the first day of no babysitting? Either way you get a day off that "job". I hope you can get in some embroidery because you have mentioned that you find it relaxing.
CJ, I'm glad you go whatever done that necessitated you going out. Now you can relax for the evening and do some quilting if you feel like doing it or just relax
That Jacquelynne Steves email has been coming to my inbox since that Christmas quilt that CJ did a few years ago. At the time I thought maybe I'd try it or at least some of the blocks, but I never got to it.All this crocheting keeps me busy with new events popping up that I need to crochet for.
I tried the c2c and even with my revisions the holes came out to large for my liking so I switched to crystal wave and am experimenting with making it so that the holes in it are small and I think I've got it now. Hopefully I can make some progress in it this evening.

Done babysitting until next week.
Ruth ,hope. Hope you can modify the crystal wave afghan so that it’s got small enough holes for a wee little one.
I do have one errand to run today- other than that will see what today brings.
CJ- hope you slept well and are getting ready to have a great day.

Hello Ginny - Hope you can get back to your quilt or some other things now that you have finished babysitting this week. Ruth - Hope the crystal wave is working for your project. I finished making the wall hanging quilt top this morning. The new block of the week for Pat Sloan's quilt along came out today, so I hope to get it made tomorrow. There is only one block left and I'll be glad to finish this quilt since I'm tired of working with the same fabrics for so long - 4 months. I received the fabric for one of the other jelly roll quilts I'm working on, so I hope to get to that one soon too. Take care!

Ginny, it's great that you have some days free from babysitting. I know you love the grandchildren and have fun with them but some days off now and then are great for you to be able to do some of the things you can't do while with them. I hope you enjoy your embroidery and your quilting. It's very nice weather here today. ..sunny and in the low 60's CJ, I hope you're having a good day and that your weather is such that you don't have problems keeping the house at a temperature you would like I'm not sure how these colors are working together. I did put the two pinks next to each other but that didn't look good so I changed things around some and will let things flow as they want to. I think the dark pink, white, and blue are working but haven't added the light pink back in yet to see how it looks. The colors will tell me if they are good or not See you all later.

CJ, there you are. We were typing at the same time. I'm glad you have only one block left on that quilt. I know how it feels to have some item we're crafting just keep going on and on. I'm also glad your jelly roll arrived. I think anyone that can take a jellly roll and figure out how to put all those different pieces together so that they end up as beautiful as your's has to be extremely talented
I don't know what that line is two rows up and don't know how it got there. This laptop definitely does what it feels like doing no matter what keys I push or even when I'm not even touching the keys.
