Hello - Hope you are doing well today and having nice weather. It's been sunny here, with nice temperatures but lots of pollen still. Ruth - I'm sorry that your pink yarn is not the right shade, but glad that you've been able to revise your plan and work on another blanket. Ginny - I'm glad you and your DGD got a slot for the quilting class and also that you were able to order what you needed online. I finished the jelly roll quilt and it's alright, I did have a few issues with things lining up correctly, but at least it's done. I'm not going to start on another jelly roll quilt right now, I'm kind of tired of them. I'm not sure what my next project will be, maybe I'll get back to those bitty house blocks since I would like to get those done. Hope you all get to work on your crafts today. Take care

Ruth that STINKS that there is a subtle difference in the shade of pink. Is the petal pink still available- and what do you have to do to get your hands on it? Glad you are using an easy stitch, and will hopefully be able to get the afghan finished within the timeframe you desire.
CJ- wondering how you are doing…and if your weather has been comfortable. Did you start on another jelly roll project?
Not so sure I will get any crafting done today. I ended up working more than I thought I would so I am a bit tired. But tomorrow is Friday- and while I have 2 doctors appointments in the day, I expect it will be an easier day than today.

Now this is silly- I refreshed the page and CJ’s post was not there.
Good to see you here CJ- almost forgot you had the bitty houses to work on. And it’s not a jelly roll quilt, giving you a break from them. Does the pollen bother you, other than leaving dust all over your car?

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well and having good weather. We have another nice day here, it's been a good week wish it could be this temperature more of the time.
Ginny - Hope your doctor appointments went well and that you get some rest this weekend.
Ruth - Hope your crochet projects are going well.
I decided to work on two panel quilts today instead of the bitty houses. One of them is a panel of "Dick and Jane" pictures and sayings (from the reading books). I don't do well with cutting up panels and I decided to just quilt this one without cutting it up. It's a rectangle so I think it will make a good table runner. I found some backing and batting and I have it laid out ready to quilt.
The other panel was one I've been wanting to do for a while. This one is actual cuts of fabric that I sewed together. There are five fabrics and they are seashore themed. The first one is sand/seashells, then seaglass, then light aqua water, then dark aqua water, then sky that kind of looks like sunrise. I cut them at different widths and have sewn them together and I had some other sky fabric for the backing. So this one is laid out to quilt too. I think I'll use the wave stitch to quilt this one.
Hopefully I can get these done this weekend. Hope you have a great weekend!

CJ, Dick and Jane are definitely something that brings back memories. It will be very cute. The seashore one sounds absolutely beautiful. I'm glad you're having good weather. We are too.The weather is strange this year.
Ginny, I hope your doctor appointments went well and that you have time to do something you enjoy
We didn't go away for the weekend after all so I can get some things accomplished.
See you all later.

Sorry I missed getting here yesterday…
Ruth, hope that while you are staying home, that you can get down what you were hoping to do. Just the process of life sure does create situations that need cleaning and straightening up. Perhaps not going away for the weekend makes for a restful weekend for you.
CJ, the panel quilts sound interesting. Think I agree with you about not cutting up a panel (although I know people who do) The seashore panel you put together yourself sounds charming and I know will work up beautifully. You will be busy this weekend getting it all done!!
Between working, some errands and 2 doctors appointments,I chose not to quilt yesterday. I did decide to get more gardening done and some of the housework that I normally do on Saturday. I am hoping I get some rain today…which factored into why tried to get some gardening done. I am hardly done with it but its starting to look a bit more orderly.

yes your day yesterday does sound as though it was very busy. I hope that today you had some time to just relax
CJ, I'm sure you've been working on those panels you mentioned that you wanted to finish this weekend
I've been marathon crocheting today because, not only am I trying to get this blanket done by the 31st, but I also had to rip out probably 10 or more rows because the mistake I made way back (which I didn't see till this morning)was throwing the whole thing off.
Have a good night everyone

Good morning! Ruth, what a shame that you had to take out so many rows from that afghan. Ugh….been there, done that! Did you get much done yesterday trying to re-do the 10 rows and then getting more done. It stinks when working on a project like that, and you are happily working on a project, all seems to be going well and then the mistake 10 rows prior appears evident. Hoping that today is quiet for you and you can get to that afghan and get it done before your deadline.
CJ- did you get to work on the panels?
I did actually get to start the t shirt quilt yesterday- got my cutting supplies out and cut one T shirt. I know, it’s just one t shirt out of 24, but I did need to develop a strategy regarding how I was going to manage cutting and getting some unity in size. This first cut is rough, and once the t shirts are stabilized, I will go back and trim using a rotary cutter. DD and DGS#3 stopped over, so I was with them for several hours. Good to see them as always.
I did get some rain yesterday, much needed- and now I do not have to water for a few days. Hoping for a peaceful day today, and perhaps I can get the rest of the tshirts cut. Then I will be at a standstill waiting for the package from Joanns with the interfacing.

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well today and having nice weather. We had some rain yesterday evening but it's sunny and breezy today. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to start on the T-Shirt quilt and hope you can get a method in place for making and trimming each block. Ruth - I hope you can meet your deadline and get the blanket done by the 31st. I was able to finish the machine quilting on the two panels yesterday and this morning I made the binding and attached it to the front. I'm going to pull it to the back and then stitch in the ditch on the front to secure it. I wanted to wait to do that tomorrow since I know it's going to take a lot of detail work to make sure I stitch in the right place. I was happy with my machine quilting - I used a wave stitch on both of them - because I was able to get my stitch length the way I wanted it to be by really slowing down the speed on my machine. I'm glad I figured out it was stitching too fast that was causing the stitch length to be too small. I also made the next block in the Sunny Days quilt along, since that pattern came out yesterday. Her instructions are very easy to follow and I enjoyed her video too. corianderquilts.com/sunny-patches-bom-sunny-1941-9-patch/Hope you get to do some crafting today too. Take care

Cj- so glad you got both those panel quilts done. Guess each machine has its quirks regarding speed and how even the stitch flows from the machine. Especially for the ocean/ nautical panel a wave stitch pattern sounds just perfect. I really like that star block you are making! I might download the pattern- it’s a pretty star block and does not seem terribly complicated.
Sitting out back under the gazebo. Just such a joy to hear the birds and the cat bird is back. Dh rather disliked the cat bird because they sound rather psychotic with their strange song (they are imitators of other birds which results in a very interesting song.
I did get all the t shirts cut. My strategy on assembly is changed because the shirts are cut based upon the size of the block of print. I have some very large print areas (15 inches square) and some less than half that size. Gotta find a way to piece the smaller blocks together so they can work in a quilt with the larger blocks. Got an email from Joanns and my supplies will be here tomorrow. Guess I will start attaching the interfacing Tuesday evening.
Ruth - were you able to make good progress on the afghan?

I was thinking somewhat the same about those star blocks that is that they are not only really pretty but look easy to do. I think I could do those. might get around to trying them sometime so I bookmarked the page.
CJ, I'm glad you were able to figure out what the problem was and were able to fix it. The quilting method you used sounds like it fits very well,
Ginny, I'm glad you were able to get all the cutting of the t shirts done. I'm sure you will come up with a way to put it together with the larger and smaller sizes of print.Seriously, you both seem to be able to work out any kind of issue you find while quilting
Yes I did make some headway on the afghan. I do hope I can finish it but if not, well it will be finished sometime
Well yesterday it wasn't when we were sitting outside but was later at night after a rain that we had a tree frog who had pasted himself on our window. It was very interesting as we had never seen a tree frog before. He stayed on the window all night and left in the morning
