Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, playing a musical instrument, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Happy Monday!!
Ruth, glad you stopped in last night. You are making progress on the afghan, which is awesome. Hope you can finish it in the week, which is, I think your goal. What a funny story about the little tree frog. (At least in my area they are little). Glad you got a good look at the little fellow, such a neat treat from the Lord.
The week begins, which is a short week and easier for me. Think it’s supposed to be in the high 70’s today…not necessarily my favorite weather but as long as it cools down into tne mid 50’s at night it’s more tolerable for me. I did get a little bit of embroidery time in last night, which was pleasant
CJ- hope you slept well BBL Ginny

I hope you all have a good day and a good week

Hello Hope everyone is well today and that we all have a good week with nice weather. It's getting warmer here, but not too bad. I'm glad you both liked that most recent block for the Sunny Days quilt along. It was very easy and quick to make. Here's a link to her video showing her making the quilt block: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvBWQJAdeUsI might try to make it with some different fabrics. I got distracted this morning and instead of working on finishing my quilt bindings I made a small red, white and blue table runner I just made three Friendship star blocks and sewed them together. I already have it sandwiched and pinned and I hope to get it quilted today and get the binding attached. Then I can work on all three pieces to finish the binding. Hope you get to do some crafting today too. Have a great day

Yesterday was not a crafting day for me, but then I never expected it to be. DD#2 and I took the little ones to the zoo yesterday. Other than a LOT of pollen (which I am still feeling the impact of )it was a good visit and great to get together with DD and DGS #2. I led Bible study last night (our normal leader was out of town) so it made for a busy evening. My box of goodies from Joanns arrived, and while I am not in love with the fabric I chose for the back of the t shirt quilt, it will be ok and I think once I get it assembled, it will look fine
CJ- thanks for posting the link to the assembly of that pretty block. Things do indeed quiet down for me later on today and I look forward to viewing that video later on. Ya know? Quilt bindings are nobody’s favorite part of quilting, so I do not blame you for working on something else. Also if you are planning on finishing the binding the way you mentioned it’s going to take some concentration - so making a pretty table runner would be more fun.
Ruth, did your delivery ever make it yesterday? Hope that you can proceed on that afghan and make good progress.
BBL G

It sounds like fun going to the zoo. I love zoos but haven't been to one since 2001.Crafts can wait but children grow up too fast. Gotta enjoy them while you can
CJ, thanks for the video. I'm definitely going to watch it. I've bookmarked it.
Kind of a hot day today. I haven't done any crocheting yet but may do some this evening.

Hello Ginny - Hope you enjoyed the zoo with the grandkids. I'm glad your JoAnns order arrived. Ruth - Hope you can get some crocheting done this evening. I finished the binding for two of the three pieces and have the last one already clipped and ready to sew down. Hopefully I'll get it done soon. I really like the quilt block I used for my red, white and blue table runner, it's a variation of a Friendship Star block: www.thesprucecrafts.com/friendship-star-quilt-block-pattern-2821927I only made 3 blocks, but I may make some more and make a larger quilt too. Take care

LOVE the fabrics for the friendship star block CJ ! (The ones shown on the spruce crafts web site). Glad you are pleased with the results.
Ruth, did you get any crocheting in?
This cold/allergies is kicking me a bit- I was doing better until Monday, when I was outside almost all day and exposed to a ton of pollen. Might end up doing to urgent care if I do not improve.

So,I did take most of the OTC allergy meds I have and some tylenol and feel somewhat better. Just washed all the pollen off my hair too (via a shower) and hope that I can start tomorrow off on a better foot. Between a lack of sleep and some obnoxious pollen counts I was feeling pretty miserable.
Yes this zoo is a lot of fun, it combines the animals with some historical appeal, something Dh and I enjoyed investigating when we took the kids or grandkids there for a pleasant walk. Guess that day I was out in the elements and pollen way too much and now paying for it.
Hope each of you gets some crafting time in today. Think I am going to investigate Tshirts to see just how I will accommodate the different sizes of printed surfaces on the t shirts.

Hello Ginny - I'm glad the medications helped you to feel a bit better, hope that continues. Ruth - Hope you are doing well today. I finished stitching down the binding on the last panel quilt this morning and started cutting fabrics for a larger Friendship Star quilt. My fabrics are red, white and blue. I'm using the 8 at a time method for making the half square triangles since I'm going to need 240 of them for this quilt. I hope to get this top finished before Memorial Day. Take care

Today's been a busy day so I'm just getting here. I haven't had any crochet time yet but it's just 10pm so I might still do some
Ginny, I'm glad the otc meds worked for you.
CJ,I'm glad you were able to get that binding all done and have a plan to do all those 240 blocks...that's a lot of blocks.

Good morning all!! Ruth, gosh by 10 pm- well I have crashed and am in bed for sure. I do hope that you got some crochet time in and that the rest of this week is a bit more peaceful for you.
CJ, well 240 HST’s is surely a lot. Do you have a game plan for when you complete this quilt? With both Memorial Day and Independence day ahead, it sure is she season for red ,white and blue.
I started sorting t shirts last night so see which ones will be used alone and which will be pieced to make 15 inch blocks. Trial by fire…I sure will learn a lot in making this quilt

I hope everyone had a good day today. Mine was good. I did get in sone crocheting but I'm not going to meet any of my crochet goals for the month I'm sure so will try again next month. I've been a little busy the last few days and today but that's life. I would have had the one blanket done if I had bought the right shade of yarn.
It was kinda cool here today but nice
See you all tomorrow.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great day yesterday and got some crafting time in. Just hard to believe that it’s Memorial Day weekend- does anyone have plans to attend a parade this weekend? (I might, I also might not…ha ha ha). In a small town, we do have a parade, but it’s not huge.
CJ , how is that Friendship star quilt coming out? Are you working on that, or another project? I wonder how your weather will be, supposedly there is a tropical system that is supposed to bring a lot of rain. Hope you are spared that.
Ruth, the only thing bad about not getting the afghan done is that if its for your newest DGD is that you will have to mail it to her or work out some other method to get it to her. Yarn shades are a problem for sure and for this project has caused a lot of frustration for you. There is a convenience in being able to order our supplies online, but I do miss WELL STOCKED (going back to my recent frustration with Joanns) craft supply stores- that including walmart. Funny how years ago both the close by Walmarts were really well stocked in craft supplies. Then both almost eliminated their yarn and fabrics…now both have brought yarn and fabric back but minimally. The Walmart the next state over used to have an awesome fabric department. Not sure what they have now, as I almost never get to that store. Dh used to like to drive there because its a nice drive to accomplish an errand.
Ugh. I worked a lot yesterday- thought they would put me on the same route as I was on in the morning, but they did not. (The route I was on was awful). Anyway, it’s over and all the kids got home ok. Glad I do not have to deal with that for a week. DGD graduates from preschool this am, so I am attending that. Where has the time gone….hard to believe that sweet and crazy little girl will be in kindergarten next year.
Hoping I can return to working on the tshirt quilt later. I am having a hard time inspiring myself to work on this project but I do want to get it done.
Have a great day Ginny

Good morning Ginny and CJ.
Ginny, sorry you had such a bad route to drive. I'd never make a good school bus driver for many reasons but mostly because I can't tolerate kids that don't know how to act. It's great that you don't have to deal with any of that for a week. Yes the shipping is a problem but actually the llast box I mailed was not bad cost wise and I do have some made and will make some other things and will send them all when it gets closer to her time of arrival. I'm working on one right now that will also be mailed bso ut it's a light one. I made one exactly like it but I think was in different yarn, for her now 11 year old sister.
And Ginny, I can't believe that sweet little baby grandaughter of yours is now old enough to be in kindergarden already. Time sure flies and kids grow up so fast. Before you know it you'll be attending the preschool graduation of those little boys.
Well I have tons to do today so better get busy
