Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, playing a musical instrument, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Oh it’s Monday!!
Ruth, glad to hear that Dh is agreeing to some downsizing. You have mentioned many times that he is reluctant to get rid of stuff. Good luck with a garage sale. I know many who do very well with them, I have had 2 in my life and gave up after the second one. For all the work, I have chosen to donate. Have you considered selling on Facebook Marketplace? I know many who do well with that to get rid of unwanted items.
Gonna go back to the quilt shortly. I have to take out a tiny bit of the stitching so that the sashing aligns better. Wish me luck

Ginny, I'm sorry that you're going to have to take out some of the stitching in the quilt but glad it's just a tiny bit. I've only ever had one garage sale. The only time we can have one is when there is a community one here in our development otherwise it's too far out of the way for people to be interested in driving this far.Probably would be the same trying to sell on marketplace. I'd rather just donate it all but dh suggested selling. I know that there was a plan to have a community garage sale every year in June here but I haven't seen that happening although we weren't here in June of last year and that annual plan was only decided on in 2021

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well and having nice weather. We had a little bit of rain here today, it's been awhile since we've had any. Fortunately it's not supposed to be raining tomorrow since I have to put my donation boxes and bags in the driveway before 8:00 A.M. I haven't done any quilting for several days. Today I've been decluttering in my sewing room. I have two bags of patterns, rulers, quilting supplies, and a bit of fabric that I don't want and won't use. I'll give that to my SIL to take to her quilt guild. Then I organized what was left into drawers and containers. I have several of those plastic 3 drawer cabinets and put things in them. I've made up a list of the patterns I kept. I still have several containers I need to go through and just get the stuff in them organized. I don't think there are things in them I'd donate. I also have a stack about 6 inches high of patterns I've printed out from the Internet. I need to go through them and see if I still think I'd want to make them and if so, I'll have to put them in my 3 ring binders with other patterns like this. There are always more patterns and projects I'd like to do than time to do them I can't believe how many needles (quilting, applique, embroidery, etc.) I have, I must have an addiction I hope you both get to do some crafting today. Take care

CJ, good to see you and it's great that you have been able to find things that you know you'll never use and donate to someone who will appreciate having what you no longer need. I laughed when you mentioned all the needles you have. I had a lot too and I never have sewn much. I just need a couple for sewing liners into bags, makeup pouches, etc. I'm sure I'm addicted to buying crochet hooks. I looked through them the other day and couldn't figure out why in the world I bought some of the ones I have. I'm packing those up in the next box I send to my grands in Indiana and if they can't use them they can always take them to the homeschool coop. They teach a crochet class there. Today it rained here too and was very cool so dh said we needed to take a day off of yard and other work so I should have and might still look thru all my yarn and bag some for donation. Thank you for inspiring me.
I'll bbl

Ruth, sometimes it seems as though crochet hooks assemble in our craft areas and multiply at night!! Think it’s a great idea to give your extra crochet hooks to your grandchildren, especially because you know there is a co- op that might also want them. But really, it is always a good idea to have an extra hook or two - I am famous for losing a hook in the couch or dropping one in the car. Guess as far as marketplace goes….priced right a good item will attract people to drive a distance. My county is fairly large and I know of folks who will traverse the whole county for the item they want. Anyway, best of luck downsizing…its is daunting task for sure.
CJ, You are making awesome progress with your decluttering! Funny story, I guess collecting needles must be an addiction. When I went through my mom’s sewing possessions, the number of needles she had was shocking. Even funnier was range of dates on them, dates as indicated by the pre printed price on a package. I ended up splitting them up between me and my two daughters.
Gotta go- DGS is due here very soon. DD tells me he has a fever….hope its not a long day with him

Hello I finished going through all the patterns I'd printed out and kept about half of them. Then I stored the ones I'm keeping in a 3 ring binder. I think I'm doing decluttering in the sewing room for now. Most of what is left I would want to keep. Hopefully I can get back to making quilt blocks the rest of this week. Hope you both get to do some crafting It's a nice sunny day here and not too warm, I'd love to have a lot of days like this. Have a good day!

I'm sitting here waiting to hear from my car dealer. I forgot my current crochet in the bedroom and dh is napping so I have to wait on that. I'll work on my blanket in the meantime or find yarn for my next project. It's beautiful weather here ...not too hot, not too cold.
Ginny I hope the little fellow feels ok and is over his fever.

CJ- so when you are all done de cluttering, I am only a few hundred miles north of you and would love the help. Ha ha ha You have made excellent progress and I am so happy for you! Glad that you can say that everything you have in storage now for your crafts is what you would want to keep. Job well done.
Ruth, think that is the definition of frustration- leaving your crocheting (or other craft project ) home when you are waiting to hear about an automobile repair. It does sound as though you did bring something else to keep you busy. Hope that the wait was not too long.
I had DGS on advil all day…poor little fellow spent a lot of time on my lap sleeping. He did take a nap in the crib, but once he woke up (after his short nap) he fell asleep on me and I was pretty much glued to him all day. I did get a few minutes ripping out a seam I was not happy with on the tshirt quilt. Maybe I will get back to working on it shortly.
Lovely day weather wise here. Slightly cooler tomorrow which is even better

Ginny, I'm glad your dd took him to urgent care and got a diagnosis and treatment. He'll feel better fast
I was waiting for the call at home..long story but after I had my last service visit back in March I found on my paper work that they hadn't done the 100 point inspection they're supposed to do. Either they didn't do it or they didn't document it.My little dashboard screen still was saying tire pressure wasn't right and that was one of the things they're supposed to check. I put that in my review. The service dep't manager emailed me and said that he would have them do that immediately and he would also have someone come and pick up the car. I told him I was going out of town for a couple months so couldn't have that done right then so he told me to contact him when I got back and he would be happy to do it then. Well now that I'm having that fan problem and my check engine light was on I contacted him and was waiting for him to let me know when he could send someone. Long story short I'm taking it to them tomorrow.
I got in a bit of crocheting today. I had to make the blanket part of the lovey over...another long story...and I'm almost done. I have to get together something to take to the car dealer tomorrow. I think I'll make some wind spinners. They have some with really cute things hanging on the and I think I'll make some for my grandchildren and dd.The great grandgirls will love watching them spin.
We had a can of that Solo brand poppy seed filling that we've had awhile so I got buy and made a poppy seed cake.So everyone come over for some nice tea and cake.

Ruth, put the tea pot on and I am coming over!!! Looks like if i leave now I will arrive sometime around dinner time tomorrow. The poppy seed cake sounds great. I have not make that in years. I am optimistic that you can get your automobile issues resolved today. Honestly it’s nice that they are offering to send someone to bring your car in, but I do not blame you for taking it in yourself. Hope all the issues are resolved quickly and that they do not leave you waiting for too long for the repairs to be completed. Glad you got some crocheting time in- do you also crochet the “cute things” hanging on the end?Yes I can see how the grand kids would love them and I hope they are fun to make.
Got a little more of the tshirt quilt done. Row 2 was a monster to assemble, still not totally sure why, but at least its together. I am hoping that the next rows go on with greater ease. I am going out for coffee later on with a coworker and will get to the store today for a few items. We are supposed to get some rain mid day, Guess I will have to get my walk in this morning.
CJ- bet it’s a joy to enter your crafting area and see it all nicely organized!

CJ, congratulations on finishing the organization of your sewing room. Now after you finish helping Ginny with hers come on to my house and you can help me organize my craft room I did bag up some yarn the other day. It will go to the rescue mission's thrift store. It's not the kind of yarn you can use to make hats so I won't donate it to the caps for kids group. Now to go thru fabric again and see what I saved the last time I went thru it. I think I saved kids fabric but, even though I have young grands and great grands, realistically I'm not going to be making them wearables so out it goes. It's not fabric that would be good for making quilts. Ginny, I do hope you next rows go on easier and smoother than this one you had problems with.Your dd is going to love the quilt. Ginny, Thanks for the good wishes on my car. I hope it's just a minor computer adjustment. I do like sitting in their waiting area so waiting is not a problem. Oh the wind spinners, I haven't made any of the "cute" hanging things for on them yet but I'm thinking about doing that. Of course I'm thinking about making a lot of things so we'll see what happens. They have yellow and black ones with little bees hanging which are very cute. I may have to make one for the neighbor. He has his porch really nicely decorated and his cats could sit and dream about catching the bee. I'll have to find yellow and black yarn in my stash.I did finish the lovey and sewed on the arms of the bunny so now all I have to do is sew on the head which shouldn't take long. It sure is cute! I started a little sweater too. It's nice being able to check things off on my list. See you all later. I'm going to take my laptop with me so I might stop in while waiting. I don't like to do emails, etc on my phone. Too old fashioned and behind the times I guess.

Well I'm back home. Even though several people at the dealership told me that fan problem was not a problem but normal it is not. They found rodent damage again. About 3 years ago they found rodent damage but they tell me this is a different set of wires. This time they said it will take 2=3 hours so suggested I take their shuttle home and they will deliver the car when it's done so here I am
While sitting in the waiting area an elderly man came in and saw that I was crocheting so told me that his wife knits and we had a nice conversation. He drove 120 miles from another town to get his vehicle serviced. The sweater I had started was looking too large so I ripped it out. I could have finished it and saved for later but I didn't want to do that so I'm starting a different one. I made this one for my youngest great grand in blue and I had trouble with the pattern so I don't know why I even tried it again. So now I'm looking for a different one. I have a long list of potentials

Ruth, did they finish your car and return it to you? Glad they were able to do that and get you home ok. A waiting area is nice ,but much more comfortable if you can be home. Hope you are able to find a nice sweater pattern to replace the one you ripped out. I figure you have a great variety of patterns.
CJ- were you able to accomplish much today?
I ran some errands and then had to take Ds to the doctor. He got a very bad case of conjunctivitis, went to urgent care Monday. What they gave him did not seem to be helping so the ER added an antibiotic salve and said to wait a day or so to see if it improves. He has directions to get to the eye doctor if he does not see improvement. His eyes are extreme toy swollen and he is very uncomfortable.
Got past the 3rd row and am now working on attaching the 5th row-yes row 4 is attached now too. But I was disrupted getting Ds the medical attention he needed. Guess I will work on it more tomorrow.
