Ginny, I'm so sorry to hear that your ds has conjunctivitis and especially that it's so severe that he's uncomfortable. Usually antibiotic eye drops work wonders. I'll be praying that this new med does the trick. If it doesn't he for sure needs to see an eye doctor. You don't want to mess with your vision.
The service dep't of my car dealer did finish my car and delivered it to my home. Not only that but they didn't charge me! Last time the rodent damage cost me at least $200. I don't remember exactly. Anyway I'm very thankful.
Yes I am working on a different sweater but I think today wasn't a good day to work on something like that because I was just too tired. I did get the yoke done but I do have to say that it sure is not perfect. I'm working on the body of the sweater now.
I'm looking over the top of my laptop out the window and there's two pronghorn antelope grazing outside. With all the construction that's been going on in our town we don't see a lot of them anymore. People used to say that there are more antelope than people in Wyoming. If that's still true they are somewhere else in the state. I love watching them. Yesterday I just happened to glance out and there was a deer jumping over the fence.

Good morning,
Ruth, I was not aware that your area was booming with so much construction- that makes a lot of sense as people search for a nice place to live, What a wonderful thing that you were blessed with a view of pronghorn antelope! Do not think i have ever seen them before and if I have it was in a zoo. Wow. That is so great that your car repair did not cost a thing! I am thankful for that blessing for you too.
Yesterday Dd sent a text to her sister and me- there was a bright yellow snake on the railing of her house. Yellow snakes are not indigenous to this area, this is one ugly fellow Ends up (I sent the pic to someone who studied wildlife biology and used to work in a pet store, and Dd #1 also sent the pic to someone who knows a lot about snakes) this snake is a python- absolutely NOT supposed to be in my area and must have been someones pet that got loose. Its also an expensive snake, because of its unique color, probably worth about $1000.Dd was able to find a neighbor who knows someone that works for a pest control company- who did remove the ugly snake (my contact thought it was beautiful!). Hope they find a good home for the snake. It was supposed to be somebodies pet.

it's snake time of year I'm sure. My cousin posted a picture of a snake that her friend found at her home. I don't know what it is but it does look like one that belongs in the area...western NY. Python, whole different story. I'm sure you're right that someone either lost the snake or purposely let it go. They just don't have pythons in NY, There are a lot in Florida that have been released by their former owners, (I'm sure you know this already) and they're causing a lot of problems there. I've never seen a picture of a bright yellow python.

Look at a green tree python, and is absolutely not supposed to be here in the wild. So it either got loose or some idiot thought that releasing it to the wild was a good idea. If it were left outside here it would die- bet my NY nights are too cold for it and it probably wants to be in a heated environment. My one contact who confirmed that it was a green tree python (so did the pest control man who collected it and is considering either keeping it or giving it to a friend) called the critter- “pretty”. I say it’s pretty ugly.
Got a little bit of work done on the tshirt quilt. A little bit of ripping out is needed (remember the t shirts do give some) and then one more row to attach. Cannot wait to finish this.
I did get the fabric requirements for the quilting class I am attending with DGD. That is great. Hoping to get her up to the quilt shop in a week to buy her fabric.
Ruth and CJ- hope you both got some crafting in!

I looked it up. You're sure right. It is very ugly!!! We have a lot of Bull snakes here. They look a lot like prairie rattlers we also have here but the bull snakes are completely harmless. I don't really like them either.I don't like to be surprised by things like that and you know how snakes are. They are mostly hidden and take you by surprise. Your dgd will love picking the fabric for her quilt. It will be fun for you too, advising her on how to pick colors and patterns in the fabric. Can I come too? I need a lesson on picking colors I just did a little organizing in my craft room and found the perfect yarns for a couple projects I'm planning on making.Last evening I mostly worked on the blanket that is my project to work on when I get tired of the main one. Today I worked a little on the sweater. It's definitely going to be a newborn size and will not fit for very long. Infants grow way too fast and so far all ddil and ds' children have been in the upper range of weight for newborn. I'll of course make some larger ones too. . After all what else do I have to do. Yes I don't really know how anyone makes a t shirt quilt with all the stretching that fabric is capable of. I guess the interfacing helps some. I hope it works well for you so that you can finish it and go on to a project you will enjoy more. Tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 56 here. It rained again today..a LOT. Not a lot of time but a lot of rain in a short time.

Hello - Hope you are doing well today and having good weather. The weather here has been pretty nice, a bit warmer. I finished the next round of quilt blocks for Pat Sloan's current weekly quilt along and this morning I made a block for one of the monthly quilt alongs. I also have the fabric cut to piece together the two basket blocks for this month. Another monthly block comes out tomorrow, so I hope to get all three of these done soon. Hope you are getting to do some crafting that you have a wonderful weekend

Thank you CJ, Yes I did have a good day. The weather is a bit on the cold side. High of 56 and now it's colder but beats the horrible winter cold. It sounds like you're keeping up with all the weekly and monthly blocks and I'm sure they're all beautiful.
I just called a dear friend and want to kick myself for not calling sooner. She is in her 90's and she was thrilled to hear from me. Neither of us has very good hearing but amazingly I could hear her but she couldn't hear me very well even though she has hearing aids. Luckily one of her daughters was there because she couldn't hear when I told her who I was so she gave the phone to her daughter who then told her it was me and I could hear my friend in the background telling her daughter she must be kidding. She rushed to the phone and we had a great conversation.
I did work on my baby sweater. I had a hard time following the woman in the video but I think I have it now except for the beginning of each of the two rows of repeat. I have to keep going back to review the first couple stitches. I'm getting a list together of the blankets I want to make as Christmas gifts and the yarns I want to use for each one.
Ginny, I hope you had a good day. It must have been a busy one. How are your son's eyes doing. Did they clear up or did he have to see an eye doctor?

Yikes, I thought I got here yesterday. So sorry I did not.
Ruth, so glad you made contact with your friend! I gotta say in my experience,it’s very very rare that an old connection reaches out, and does not welcome the effort. Nice that you found a way to prevail over less than perfect hearing. I hope you make contact with each other again. It’s always a blessing when you know your effort to reach out has been a blessing to someone. Glad you got to work on the baby sweater. We have had this conversation before, where it does appear as though individuals need a license to post directions on you tube. Congrats on putting together the list of afghans you want to make. That gives you plenty of time to work on the yarn needed and order if necessary.
CJ- sure sounds as though you had a successful day! You took a few days off from quilting and are now back into quilting mode. A few days ago you were taking a breather and it’s good to hear that you got your momentum back.
In the continuing saga of the green tree python, the person who removed it (and posts on a community facebook page) indicated that he ended up (at his home) being bitten by the snake. Apparently they are known for biting, and he wants to give the snake to another person who might appreciate it more. Well, it’s out of DD’s way and nowhere near her home. Ds did end up going to the eye doctor- who said his eyes were fine, no scratches or damage. He did prescribe another antibiotic for Ds and said that this particular medication would cure 95% of all conjunctivitis. His eyes are much better today- still red but improved greatly (yes they were that bad before!). He has a follow up visit with the doctor in a week. It’s the same ophthalmologist group I use and I think the care is very good.
Yesterday I finished the assembly of the tshirt quilt and made some progress on the baby quilt. I went today to start making the quilt sandwich for both, and then realized I had not washed the flannel backing fabric for either. So that is done now. Not sure if I will start the quilt sandwich tonight. If I do it will be the baby quilt I work on as that has to be done by next Sunday.

Ginny, you were missed and today looked like no one was going to show up. I'm so glad your son's eyes are better. Now they should finish clearing up very soon. Sorry to hear that you discovered at the last minute that the flannel hadn't been washed yet. You keep so busy it's a wonder you don't forget a lot of things. You probably need a break from the t shirt quilt anyway since it's more of a challenge.
CJ, yes you jumped right back in there and starting quilting again.
Usually my friend and I keep in touch with email but now that her AMD has progressed so much that she can't see to type it's harder because her daughter has to read the emails to her and type the reply and the daughter is an extremely busy person like you Ginny. She's(the daughter) a very nice person too.She does a lot with her church and she has quite a few grandchildren and a disabled son who they adopted at birth knowing he had many disabilities. My friend used to knit and of course now she can't do that either. She used to make things for the Newborns in Need organization.

Ruth, your friend sounds like a very special person with a heart for others. I hope that her daughter is able to be there as much as she can to help her mom as her mom is in decline. I am sure your friend really appreciates hearing from you, when you are able to connect with her.
Last night I had a movie on and pushed myself to get the second baby quilt into a quilt sandwich. The chaos is over!!! I was able to fold it up last night and put it by my machine, ready to be quilted. I kept track of the amount of time it took me to quilt the other baby quilt, so if I work hard later on I can have that part done. Hoping that maybe…I can have the entire baby quilt done by the end of tomorrow.
None of us are fathers here….but I hope that each of us can spend a few minutes reflecting with gratitude on the fathers in our lives in thanks. I lost my own Dad 41 years ago, but am thankful for the kind and loving man he was. And Ruth, a happy Father’s Day to Dh.

Well, Ginny, it sounds like you'll have that baby quilt completed finished by next Sunday for sure. Maybe you and get the tshirt one finished this coming week and will have two more projects done.
Yesterday I worked on both the sweater and the blanket. Blanket, as you may remember, is a Christmas gift for one of the adult grandchildren. I don't care for the way the sweater turned out. I have it all done but the sleeves and it just doesn't look that great to me. The one that I already had done before we left, even though made with Jamie yarn, feels thick and stiff so I'm going to wash it and see how it turns out. Meanwhile I'm going to look for another pattern.
Yesterday morning it was 40 degrees here. Today is better. We still haven't really had what I'd consider summer weather.
I'll bbl. I'm going to look for another pattern.
Thank you for the Father's day wishes for my dh. I'll tell him when he wakes up.

Ruth- when I get hot summer weather at the end of this week I will send it on to you! 40 degree nights sound wonderful to me- I do really miss it when the nights do not get that cool. After a warm day it’s great to have nights in the low 50’s or 40’s - a warm house really cools down nicely then. Sorry that you are struggling finding a sweater pattern and yarn that you are pleased with . Some patterns look great in a picture but do not work up well. Even with sewing patterns that is the case. I know you will find something that works, and perhaps washing the one sweater will work out . Hope so!
CJ- how was your day? Were you able to work on any of the blocks that you had planned?
So I finished all the quilting on the second baby quilt- but noticed that I forgot to put a border on it. I have a fabric leftover from Dgs’s baby quilt that will work great as a border. That is pressed and I should be able to put on tomorrow. Then it’s just a matter of the binding. The middle of the week is hectic for me, so I doubt I will get the T shirt quilt done - will have to finish that next week.
Another Monday is just around the corner. Sleep well! See you in the morning!
