Hello - Hope you are doing well today and having good weather. We're about to get some rain/storms coming through the area, so it's warm and humid. Ruth - Hope you find a good recipe to use your applesauce in Ginny - Hope the DGKs did well at church this morning. I bet everyone found them cute I haven't done any decluttering this weekend, guess I needed a break. I do hope to get two bags of trash together to put out at the end of the coming week for trash pick up day. I've been making my shoofly blocks and also picking out some patterns to go with a few panels that I have. I hope to get to them this summer since they are summer-like panels. I also decided how I am going to use 10 fat quarters that I've had for awhile. I bought them from Keepsake Quilting back before it was sold and they are 1930s Reproduction fabrics in reds and in purples. I've decided to make the Summer Starlet quilt. I was able to cut 3 blocks worth of fabric out of 10 fat quarters so I'll be able to make 30 blocks. I'm going to put them 6 across and 5 down. I didn't buy the book that was required for this pattern, but I was able to figure out a good size for my blocks. If you go to Pat Sloan's website and scroll down just a bit you can see a picture of her quilt top in purples and teals: blog.patsloan.com/I have all the fabric cut for my 30 blocks and have 2 of them made, so I'll keep working on them and hopefully finish them in the next few weeks. Hope you both get to do some crafting soon too. Take care

Cj- you have been busy cutting the fabrics for 30 blocks- and getting some blocks done! I am impressed. The pat Sloan block is pretty- hope it looks great in your fabrics.
I cooked today - made a meal to take over to my neighbor who just had twins. The kids were awesome at church and very helpful- also very cute!
Ruth - hope you had a great day

CJ, you have definitely been busy. 30 blocks!! The block on that site is very pretty.
Ginny, I thought the children would probably enjoy helping at church and it sounds like they did. One of the things I'm really not good at is making meals for others. I've often thought of taking food to people but then I don't know what to make. My dd is having surgery out of town next month and I'd like to make something for the day they get home but have no idea. I usually flavor my foods a lot and some people don't like food that is seasoned that much and dd also has problems with certain foods.Plus having just had open abdominal surgery she's not going to be ready to eat anything heavy so I'm thinking probably soup would be best. I'm sure your neighbor will be extremely grateful for the meal. Having a baby really fills your time so I can imagine with twins.
Since I got the car seat blanket done I took Ginny's advice and made two hats for the week. They're small hats but they're in the donate bag. Now I got out my "tipped scales" blanket that I started a few months ago and set aside to make other things. It will be one of the Christmas gift blankets. It's easy...a one row repeat.I hope I can complete it this week. It's still small so I'm going to take it with me tomorrow when dh goes for his CT scan.Normally it doesn't take long but recently when I went for mine I was there waiting for what seemed forever. I'm making it for my very tall grandson so will have to make it long.I do have plans to do some other things this week rather than sit all day crocheting but I think I can at least make good headway this week.I do have a lot of yard work and housework to catch up on
See you all tomorrow in the new week
