Today is our son's 37th birthday. He is the one who gifts us with delicious food and has never had a weight issue. He used to be too thin and can go for long periods without eating if he is busy. We are going to celebrate at 5 pm Friday at our home by having take out Middle Eastern food he will order. Either DH or I will pick it up. 5 is the best time for grandchildren ages 1 1/2, 2 1/2 and 4 and it is food everyone likes. Our DDIL is bringing the cake. Menu My normal 5 PT breakfast Tuna salad lunch and fruit plus raw vegetables Early NYE dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. That is why I plan to eat no more than 10 points before dinner. It is just a 2-3 course meal and there are good choices but the preparation is different than mine. This is how I ease back on program. Saturday night we will have a good but simple dinner at home.

Hi everyone. I am writing from my deck on Grand Cayman Island and it is heavenly here, the sun is coming up and we're having a tropical shower at the moment. I had a good travel day yesterday, ate my planned and packed food on the way down here and then had grilled mahi mahi for dinner, vegetables and a half a baked potato. Was really proud of myself - travel is always hard for me plus I'm with a lot of family here and there are always stresses from that as well as pleasure.
We're staying in a condo here and have to go to the supermarket this morning so I will make sure to have foods I want to eat and that are good for me in the house. I'm 8 or so pounds heavier this year than I was last year and I can feel and see it. I don't want to continue like this so plan to use the time here to recharge and re-energize, strengthening my Beck program and staying within my SPs. And not beating up on myself for my struggles in 2016.
So glad to have joined this group. It's just what I need right now.

Andi: Have a great time and what a great place to get yourself reorganized.
I had shrimp for one of my snacks this week so that was a nice change along with using up the homemade cranberry sauce in my yogurt this week. Considering having leftovers from Christmas dinner tonight.

I've been setting up our files for 2017. Going through old files, throwing obsolete stuff away. Shredding anything with personal info on it. It's a chore I always save for the last few days of the year. Kind of nice looking back and preparing to move forward.
Took my long 3-mile walk this afternoon. It was sunny, but chilly in the low 40's. It's supposed to either get much colder, or get warmer with rain over the next week.
We will be going on a cruise at the end of February. I've got 8 weeks before we go to get serious about that pesky 4 pounds above goal. We talked at the WW meeting about setting attainable, measurable goals for the new year. My goal is to lose at least 2 pounds and get within the no-pay range before we go. Right now I don't really want to be putting on shorts or a swim suit.
In order to get going on that goal, I'm doing Simply Filling this week. Switching to Simply Filling always forces me to think more carefully about what I'm eating. I track better, and I do more cooking instead of relying on pre-prepared frozen/nuked food.
Today: Breakfast: 2 eggs and toast Lunch: Left-over homemade beef stew, light English muffin, nf milk Snack: Nf cottage cheese and pineapple chunks, banana Dinner: Costco organic minestrone soup, light English muffin, 2 oz ham
