So what do you think about summer so far? Hot, humid, dry in some places, too much rain in others. One more month and where has the time gone. quiet time for the thread but Thank You all for sticking with me through thick and thin. sometimes the best place to be was in house in AC and on computer. I honestly can say I have not had much energy, the humidity just saps my strength and push to get things done. It will still be there!!! So no problem actually and no one to tell me I need to get busy. Coming up soon august 1 and that is a full moon. so giving you a heads up!!
Wisdom for today Remember that NO is a complete sentence. Learn to say no without having to explain yourself . ( boy that's a hard one and one I need to learn)
QUOTE OF THE DAY Then came July like three o'clock in the afternoon, hot and listless and miserable.”
So Sunday!! have a lovely day. Maybe Church, maybe just relaxing with a good book, or fun with family. It is all good.

Connie I have tried just saying NO and Debbie especially looks at me and asks why? Wish people would just accept no as an answer. Of course I have started saying to Debbie because I don’t want to.
We did go to the Farmer’s Market and I was able to pet the cutest chihuahua/minpin mix. As we were walking by he came right up to me to be petted and his owners said he loves going there as he’s very social. The Amish stand wasn’t there and a few other stands weren’t there either but we did get some fresh green beans and a tomato plus some cheese and a mini chocolate/zucchini bread plus two cinnamon rolls plus a loaf of sourdough bread. We went right when they opened so left just as it was heating up and were home by 8:30. I forgot we have a Farmer’s Market closer to us that is open every day except Sunday and would be better for me as they only have produce and fruit - no baked goods or sweets. Plus the old farmers there have given me tips on how to select good cantaloupes and watermelon.
Slept until 5:30 which as you know is very unusual for me but I think all the heat has zapped my energy level and once again I fell asleep in my chair yesterday afternoon.

Checking in. Rough night. I'm not going to open my laptop. Church today and lunch with friends. Well, anymore I should just say friend and many Sundays she doesn't feel like getting out of her house and going to church. A G E is not for sissies. Coffee calling. Have a great day all.

Oh no, Lucy sorry!!! Hope you feel better soon. Hope you got out for Church and lunch and that helped.
My DD came back to check my new Iphone. Didn't have messaging or phone. Yep needs a SIM card and I had one in the old phone. so now we are good. I am really liking this one. The camera is awesome and so much to learn with it. Bigger screen so that is good as well. My old one was an Iphone 6 and this is an 11. No did not get the newest one. Would need to take out a loan for that one!!!
I am going to enjoy figuring this one out. Lot of tips right on the phone!!

I went to DMV Friday and got my license back. My DSon drove both me and Jim there. Yesterday my DGSon who has been in Japan for the last year teaching Japanese children English came home yesterday. He will be leaving to go to NYU (New York University) for his PHD. He starts in September but my DS and DDIL will be taking him to NY. We have family on the east coast so he will have family to spend holidays with.
Hopefully I will get online to say goodnight later.

Kathie, will you get to see your DGS, wow bet he has awesome stories to tell. How nice to be able to go to Japan. Glad you got your license back. I would be lost without mine and sure hope I never have to take that test they give to Sr Citizens. It is random and hope my name never comes up. I believe it is on computer though not actual driving. There is a driving test if Dr thinks you should give your license up. May prove him wrong.
Keep hoping we hear from Phyl. just pop in and let us know you are okay. You don't have to tell us anything just want to be sure you are doing okay.
We need more personal names. Hope you still think it is fun to do.

I put a special post for News of Phyl. but I think I should put it on here as well.
I have been so worried about Phyl that today I called and Got her DH Don, our dear Phyl died on Friday at home unexpectedly. She had gotten pretty good news from her tests but he said he heard a thumb and she had falled in hallway and told him she was okay. He went to the other room to get pillows to help her get up from the floor and when he returned she was just laying there still. He called his DD who live down the street and the ambulance. She had had a blood clot . Don couldn't remember the gland but he did CPR on her as did the ambulance guys when they got there to no avail. Funeral will be this coming Friday at their Church.
I am so sorry to be the one to have to do this news.
I am so in shock that I don't know what else to say.

I went to church and Bible class this morning. I did a load of laundry and fixed a pizza for lunch. I had a post, but apparently I didn't send it. I'm sorry to hear about Phyl.

I'm stunned! How awful for Don, but Phyl didn't have to go to a nursing home, and that's a wonderful thing. Her friends and family will be really missing her -- and we certainly are missing her!
I haven't done the thread in a long long time, so I'll volunteer for August, if that's okay with the group. Won't be much at the beginning, 'cause I haven't planned anything yet. You gals might find out more about my sewing projects than you really want to know!
We went to church this morning. Our pastor is quite ill with Covid, so we had a choose-your-favorite-hymn today. Those times are always fun! We had several scheduling times to go through, and a young woman gave a devotional.
Just can't get over the news about Phyl!
We had lunch with the kids. It was late because they had to feed their niece's dog, and we had to attend a planning meeting. Really enjoyed the Alfredo pizza! We spent a quiet couple of hours at home, then went to my friends' 75th birthday celebration in my home town. Fun seeing all of their family again, but no others from our class were there. Plenty of people, just not from our school or class.
Came home, got the trash to the curb for morning pickup, and Guy discovered that yet another critter is digging under our front step/porch. He borrowed a live trap, and put some marshmallows in it.
Well, I'd better sign off. I have no idea what name to choose for August . . . that can happen later.
Hugs to all my thread sisters. Sweet memories of Phyl.
