The defense intends to prove that our client is still president by reason of insanity.

Mitch McConnell had another episode where he "froze" during a presser in his home state. Feinstein has problems as well, I believe the thinking in her case is, if she resigns, Dems will lose her seat on a crucial committee - looked it up, it's Appropriations. I suppose there are political reasons for Repubs to hang onto McConnell as well.

I watched some congressional session clips and I can't even handle watching the smug bratty ones like Gaetz, Boebert and MTG. They are constantly disruptive, immature and gaslight or misrepresent facts every time they open their mouths. It feels so embarrassing that we had enough people vote them in. They turn our sessions into a dive bar.

I had checked for that before but then forgot what I read. Here is a recent article from today in light of his second "frozen" episode. I would imagine that although this is the second time we've seen him doing this during a press briefing, he probably has them more frequently. I do not foresee that he makes it through the end of his term in 2027. news.yahoo.com/mitch-mcconnell-the-3-republicans-who-are-likeliest-to-succeed-him-185836283.html#:~:text=Sen.%20John%20Barrasso&text=But%20if%20neither%20Thune%20nor,would%20be%20in%20the%20running.

I actually looked it up after I asked. If he resigns then the governor of Kentucky would replace him as Senator. But one of the three mentioned in the article would most likely take over as Senate Majority leader (or maybe he's the minority leader).

So it doesn't sound as consequential for the GOP if McConnell goes? It's all so tiring trying to keep up.

So it doesn't sound as consequential for the GOP if McConnell goes? It's all so tiring trying to keep up. Probably not. I think the governor would have to appoint another Senator from the same party. And I also think the GOP would be the ones to select the Minority leader. I'm still confused as to whether McConnell is called the Majority leader, along with Schumer, or whether he is the Minority leader.

I just watched another clip from McConnell's frozen episode from the other day and it's actually quite sad and painful to watch. Similar to what appears to be the case with Feinstein, the powers that be around them are the likely the ones keeping them in their position so they don't risk whatever is the change that may come up, or change power levels or whatever the case may be. But these people are elderly and in extremely poor health and need to rest and take it easy from here on out. I'm no fan of his (or really hers at this point), but he and others in his public position fancy themselves dignified (as would any of us) and when this happens it really does compromise their dignity, as I'm sure they'd rather stuff like this if it were going to happen, to happen in private, not for all to watch and spread all across the internet. My experience with my aunt who passed in 2021 of dementia makes me hyper-sensitive to this kind of thing, because although she was always too cool for school, ultra dignified and sophisticated, in her healthy state of mind she would have rather died than had her episodes play out in the public eye.

I'm pretty sure Trump would get this country back on track. I do not see one thing that our current president has done good for us. It is tragic at the prices in the stores now. I just don't understand how people think what is going on in our country right now is good. I just don't think people like Trump, and that is OK. But, i do believe he is better at running the country than the current administration.
