NO EXCUSES
* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN be ON PROGRAM EVERY DAY.

Boost Your “Burn”
You know the basics: a pound of body fat equals 3,500 calories. To trim down, eat fewer calories, burn more, or do both. You get out of it what you put into it.So,the more often you’re physically active, the longer you do it, and the harder you move, the more calories you burn.Just showing up for exercise or socializing your way through its motions won’t burn much.
Calories Burned for Every 5 Minutes 120-Pound Person 170-Pound Person Aerobic dancing 28 38 Bicycling (<10 mph) 18 26 Calisthenics 21 29 Cross country skiing 37 51 Jogging 32 45 Skating 32 45 Swimming, leisure 28 38 Walking, brisk 18 26 Driving 7 13 Sitting at the TV 4 6
To boost your burn: • Pump it up.Use hand weights when you walk.Wave your arms as you dance. • Just add five. Five more minutes of physical activity daily add up to more than 30 minutes a week. So, if you burn 18 calories for every 5 minutes of brisk walking, that’s 126 calories a week more—if you just add 5! • Switch gears. Simply walking more and sitting less makes a big difference.Take the stairs,do housework, shovel snow.

Loved reading your comments yesterday and thank you for sharing. Am debating whether to count points or do SFT when my daughter leaves...not sure which one it will be BUT it will BE!

Less active this week that I'm off. Planning to drive up to see the grandkids Sat - Mon so that might help. Good luck Cathy whatever you choose.

Heading off to kickboxing soon! About 600 calories for me. I'm a firm believer that the little bits really do add up.

Nice. Also it is really the "excess" calories burned. I would at least subtract the sitting in front of TV sedentary level from the calories burned for activity. I don't think all measuring systems do that. Also standing burns more than sitting. We were told between sitting and standing might be as much as 40-50 Calories per hour. Our WW leaders at the meeting have no chairs and also the receptionists too.
