CJ, I'm glad that although there is a lot of work involved in the goat quilt, that you'll do it anyway. It's just so cute and the colors you have in mind for it sound pretty. I think it's going to be a great quilt and unusual too.
I am crafting. I'm almost finished with the hats. I just have to braid the yarn that's hanging from the earflaps on one of them I already braided the other.I need to sew the second sea turtle together and sew buttons onto a couple things then those items to send will be done. I might get a couple more things done before that but I'm happy with the number of baby things I have ready.
It's hot here today too. I think that starting Saturday it will be a little cooler for awhile. I'm glad because I really need to get out and do some yarn work.
See you all later maybe.

Hello - Hope you are doing well today and having nice weather. We are getting two cooler days here before some heat again. I finished the head, face and horns section of the goat quilt this morning and hope to get the rest of it done this weekend. I've had to take the pattern and then write out the pieces to cut for each section, so it's understandable to me. The cutting directions were too confusing just doing them all once. But this way is working well. Patterns like these remind me why I like making easy quilts Hope you both get to do some crafting today and that you have a great weekend

I'm glad to hear that you got a bit done on the goat quilt. I have the same problem with some patterns, especially those on youtube, that necessitates me writing it out. But I have to do it too on some written patterns in order to get the jumbled directions right
It's hot here again today but I think it's to be cooler on the weekend.
I forgot I hadn't sewn on the bunny head to the bunny lovey so did that and sewed on some buttons. I also changed my mind about leaving the one baby hat the way it was and not finish the puppy part. It's significantly smaller than the one I made with Vanna White yarn and I wanted to have a small but light one for her to wear now maybe for pictures they will send me.I have a couple little sweaters and also the swatch I made from one of the adult blankets to find out if the yarn really softens after it's soaked and washed..
I hope you're both having a good day.

CJ, it's good to see you here and to see all those lovely quilts. My top favorites are the red, white, and blue stars, the goat, the birds, the crabs, and the hourglass. I guess that's five but they are all very pretty. And if some points don't match who cares. No one would notice but you.
It was supposed to be cooler today...ONLY 89 and there are a couple cool days coming up during the week but mostly hot.
I need to sew buttons on two sets of booties and I'm working on two more bonnets which will be sent later but I wanted to try them so I started them. I mentioned awhile back that the Red Heast super saver ombre that I was planning on using and started the blanket with was scratchy and not soft. I soaked it in vinegar water as people recommend then soaked it in hair conditioner which they also recommend. Well it may have become a little softer but it's definitely not soft enough for a blanket that I wanted to be so soft that people want to snuggle into. Maybe in a washing machine it would get softer but since the blanket isn't anywhere near being done I can't do that but I will put this swatch in with my regular laundry next time I wash clothes and will see how that turns out. When I washed a doll size blanket made with RHSS not ombre in my ddil's washing machine and dryer it came out soft as a down filled pillow.

Well the other day I mused over why they have such huge variations in yarn thicknesses and now it’s why some yarns are not very soft. Ruth- glad you were successful at softening the yarn with vinegar -but it sounds like that is not soft enough. What a shame. Hope you can finish the hats in time for when you want to mail them.
CJ- the goat quilt is adorable - and no one other than you would notice that there is some unevenness in it no one would notice but you!!! Great job and thanks for loading all those pictures. It’s not a ton of work but we love to see the pictures!
Another crazy day but tomorrow is much more sane…..

Hello Ginny - I'm sorry to hear you're getting sick. I hope you can take something to keep it from getting too bad Ruth - Hope the bonnets are turning out how you want them to. It's a sunny day here again, and in the 80s - not too bad. I like not getting a bunch of junk mail on Sunday, so I probably won't go outside at all. This morning I cleared up the scraps from the Delilah quilt and was able to make two pinwheel blocks out of some extra half square triangles. Then I made the latest block for the Sunny Patches quilt along. It's a churn dash block, so cute. corianderquilts.com/sunny-patches-bom-sunny-churn-dash-block/There are only two more blocks left in this quilt along and I've already sewn a lot of the quilt top together, so it will be easy to finish in October. I need to try to not get into any large projects for the rest of this month, if I can I did buy a few patterns this morning, so no telling if I'll try them. One of them uses just a jelly roll and some background fabric and I'd really like to try this one. I could always just try a few blocks first and maybe even use my 2.5 inch strips (scraps) to make some blocks. Hope you have a good day and get to do some crafting too www.aquiltinglife.com/jelly-roll-sampler-quilt/

Ginny, I'm so sorry to hear you are sick. I hope you're well soon. Not to be a nosey Nellie or Busy Body but I think you push yourself too much and that you need more relaxing time. Have you been drinking enough water?
CJ, I really like that sampler quilt. I'm not real fond of the blocks that look really Christmassy but the others are really great. And on the site I sign up for the little thing that has you subscribe for emails and receive 24 projects you can make in a weekend just in case I suddenly actually have time to do any of them.
I sewed on buttons today which is one of my least favorite things. I still have to sew some on two little sweaters which I washed and have drying on my so called dining room table.
