Good morning!
Went to Karaoke last night for the first time in such a long time! We had a ball! Makes me wonder why we waited so long to go.
Headed to town this morning to do some grocery shopping and hit Home Deport for something DH wants. Got my 10,000+ in again yesterday. I am trying to get back into a regular routine.
Have a good day ladies!

We got all the decorations down yesterday and didn't do much else. Bailey loves the rice and chicken but when I give her that instead of dog food I wonder if I'm giving her enough as she still seems hungry. Of course I give Bridgette a little too so she doesn't feel left out.
Maija left with her best friend and the best friend's grandparents for Florida last night. They flew on Allegiant so it was non-stop. They have a condo I think around Fort Myers. Supposed to be on a double lot. The girls will fly home January 2nd as school starts up on the 3rd. I worry as I don't know if the condo is on a beach or if the grandparents will drop them off but my daughter seems okay with it and I guess this girl has done this before but asked Maija to come as she gets bored on her own. Debbie was pleased that at the airport they gave her a gate pass to be able to wait in the boarding area with Maija until the plane boarded. Guess at 15 they are still considered a minor so parents can sit with them without having a boarding pass.
I think today will be a Costco trip as I need another chicken and more rice. The chicken I bought on Tuesday was small and not much meat on it.

Good morning Petites. Hope the weather will be good for all today, so it will be a better day in general. We had rain overnight, but it's mainly sunny now. It feels mild at 44 degrees, but maybe that's just me. After living in cold climates so many years, I tend to think it isn't really cold if it's above 20. LOL. I've got Rosie doing the floors and will vacuum areas she can't get to later. Also want to finish dusting all furniture in all the rooms, including upstairs. I need to remake that bed up there too. In other words, I need to clean house!
Joy, I'm happy you enjoyed your time last night! I wondered why you hadn't mentioned it lately. I thought maybe it had just gotten to become routine so you didn't say you'd been. Do you ever show off your hula skills learned in that class? I miss having a Home Depot closer. For some things, I like it much more than Lowes.
SandyIL, what a nice trip for DGD! Hope she has a great time. And it's good to know the moms can get passes to sit with kids in the departure lounge. Wonder what the age cut-off is. Two of my grandnieces who were 13 and 15 at the time flew from FL last summer to a church camp in SC, but I don't remember hearing DN could stay with them until flight time. I'll mention it to her. Give Bailey a hug for me! I buy whole chicken breasts and cook them for Cricket. Bailey may still be hungry since the chicken and rice doesn't have all the nutrients dog food does. You might try adding in some canned dog food with the chicken and rice.
Mickey, Happy Anniversary! Hope you find something interesting to do today, low-key or not.
The news from my aunt is not positive. She was moved to rehab yesterday and is unhappy. She tells the kids she is ready to die and wants to. So her witty response upon waking from surgery didn't last past the nerve block, I guess. Her daughter says Mime is in a lot of pain, but she has come back from worse than this before, just not at age 98.
Remember January is near! Get started on your resolutions today!

Good Morning, Petites! Joy, thanks for the start up - the Karaoke sounds like a fun time! Good for you getting 10,000 steps in again yesterday! Enjoy the shopping trip today - that is always a good way to get steps in too! Mickey, Happy Anniversary to you and DH!! How many years? Have fun celebrating today! Sandy, Hope all goes well with your DGD trip with her friend! Enjoy the trip to Costco today! Nancy, So sorry to hear the news on your DA isn't positive...hopefully she will feel better today. Sounds like you are going to be busy with housecleaning today! Good for you putting Rosie to work on the floors! DH is gone golfing this morning - 7:30 am We took Buddy out for a walk this morning, sun was out and it was beautiful! Tomorrow the weather is going to turn colder and the rain is predicted for Friday and Saturday. I need to go thru my closet today and find an outfit to wear New Years Eve - I wish I had been better at staying on program thru the Holidays! Slowly, I'm putting up the Christmas decor - yesterday I put up all the towels, tea towels, table clothes, etc..washed and put them away.... This morning I put away my Christmas Jewelry- DH wants to put up the outside decorations when he gets home from golfing. Tomorrow is the big day of putting up all the Christmas decorations...including taking down the tree and all. I also threw out all the cookies I'd made that were left - except for the Peanut Butter Balls ..... DH would kill me if I'd thrown them out...but I can stay away from them... I'm reading Debbie Reynolds book - I got it last year - it's on my table by my big chair along with 2 other books - I've started! Debbies book is "Make 'em laugh" a good book about her. We saw her show in Laughlin, NV a few year ago....She was a terrific entertainer! God Bless her! OK...need to look in the closet - pray that I find something to wear!

Good morning Petites.
Slow start this morning. We sat and read various things and I cleaned the kitchen counters. But we're about to shower and leave for lunch at an oriental restaurant. There are 4 good ones and he chose the one. I managed to reserve Sully again. This time I picked the kiosk inside the Fry's. It didn't fail as often as the outside ones do, maybe the latter get too hot.
Nancy: I'm sorry to hear that your DA is not doing well. It's a shame that she had this happen when she was so active and vibrant.
Joy: Yay for going to karaoke. Do you think you'll ever sing in a choir again? My daily step goal is 5,000 at the moment and I achieved it yesterday. I love seeing my Fitbit turn on all its multicolored lights.
Sharon: Good for you throwing out the left over cookies. Be careful taking down your decorations. I'm going to leave ours up until after New Year's so our Oregon friends can see them and the house will look festive when they arrive on Saturday. I'm not sure if we'll see them Sat. or Sunday.
I read that Debbie Reynolds son said her last words were "I want to be with Carrie". I feel sad for him. When my uncle died at 41 my DF and I were in the car with my grandmother. She kept saying "Now all I have left is [the name of my dear aunt]" and my DF was sitting right there! I was 17 and it has bothered me my whole life.
Hi to Glenda, Linda, Bo, and Pat and anyone else reading.

Hi again!
Mickey, Happy anniversary! Enjoy your lunch out today to celebrate! I'm sure the comment from your grandmother bothered your DF also! I think she (and Debbie Reynolds) were just so wrapped up in their grief over the lost loved one, they weren't thinking straight. Thus, the poor choice of wording. I'm sure Debbie Reynolds son thought "I'm still here", but she was only thinking of the loss of Carrie. That's how I think it happened anyway! I doubt I will ever sing in a choir again, my voice is just not what it used to be before all the sinus issues (and maybe age?). Ha! As long as we stay in HI, I know it will never happen because none of the churches in our area have choirs. Most are very small churches, but even the bigger one that we attend does not have a real choir. They have Worship Teams - the smaller churches may have 2 - 6 people in the team and the bigger church has 6-8 people in the team. No signs of any choirs. I'm not sure if any of the churches in Hilo would have choirs or not - we've never been church there but we visited most of the churches in our area. If, big IF, we ever move back to the mainland, I would probably be too old to sing in a choir even if my vocal chords continue to recover. Most of churches we attended in CA were getting away from choirs though. I suppose in the midwest, they might still have them.
Sandy, what a fun trip for your DGD! I think the cut off age is 18 for staying with the child in the waiting area. Glad Bailey has a good appetite!
Sharon, good idea to throw out all the cookies you are interested in, ha ha! Peanut butter balls wouldn't entice me either! Sounds like you are getting handle on the Christmas decorations.
Nancy, good for Rosie tackling those floors! It sure makes it easier on us when all we have to do is concentrate on the areas the robots cant get to! I'm so sorry to hear about DA. She is probably thinking unhappy thoughts because of all the pain she in. I hope she can rally from this. Ha ha to my Hula skills! I only made it to a few classes because I felt I wasn't being 'taught' anything! It was more of a 'stand in the back and watch the people in front of you' and I was frustrated. I quit once, went back again at some point and tried a few more times, then gave up. I would love it if I could find a real teacher who actually taught Hula. My friend in Kona loves her class and has gotten quite good. We got to see her dance one time when we were over visiting and she is doing great!
DH is up, so I need to get dressed so we can be on our way. Hopefully, the rain will let up and we won't get wet doing our errands!
Have a good day ladies!

Yay! Mission accomplished - found a dress to wear New Years Eve - it's a two piece dress that I wore to my DGS wedding - it still fits! Thanks, God! Mickey, That is sad what your DGM said when your dads brother died! She wasn't thinking right! I had read that Debbie Reynolds had said that too about wanting to be with Carrie - I felt for her son! He has alot of burden on his shoulders right now...Carrie has a daughter too. I think she is in her 20's. Have a delicious lunch out today and enjoy your Special Day! I bet it is a beautiful day there in AZ today - like it is here! Waving "Hi" to all and wishing everyone a Great Day!

Hi everyone. My treatment was this morning + I saw my oncologist. They also checked my tumor markers with the blood work. My numbers have always been very low so hopefully no surprises. Only issue is no weight gain in spite of all I eat. You'd think that is a good thing but trust m its not. I'd prefer to be overweight instead of underweight any day of the week.
I felt so sad thinking about Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher last night. Her daughter does have a relationship with her dad as did the whole family. So she also has her uncle Todd & its my understanding there's close relationship with Connie Stevens 2 daughters. Still, there's a lot of sad people. I saw Debbie perform at her casino in 1995 in Las Vegas. She was adorable. I'd like to read Carrie's latest book.
Happy Anniversary Mickey!

Sharon, glad you found a dress to wear. Where are you going to celebrate? Putting Christmas away a little a time is good plan. I'd be into the peanut butter balls!
Mickey, your dinner plans sound good. Hope you're having a good day for your anniversary. Sorry for what your grandma said, but she clearly wasn't thinking. We had a friend in NY state who had moved with her new husband to NC for his job and let her DD stay with her dad for her senior year. Her older DD was in college. The younger one died in a car accident, and the mom blamed the father and everyone else in NY apparently. She vowed never to return to NY again. She made her husband quit his job because she also blamed NC and the job. They moved to NM. She didn't even return to NY for the older DD's wedding. The older DD was devastated by her mom's behavior. Grief does strange things.
Joy, sorry the churches are so much different there. Churches here still have choirs. Sorry too the hula class wasn't a good one. Maybe you can join your friend in Hilo with hers some time. You really are having a winter of rain this year! Stay warm and dry!
Linda, hope the CA19-9 number remains low. Regaining weight after a Whipple is challenging, to say the least. Maybe after the chemo is done, you will gain again, but you will likely never have to diet to lose again. Your body just processes food differently now.
The wind is seriously trying to blow the house down right now. I had told Glenda today that I'd walk C anyway, but we didn't leave the driveway. I was afraid a tree might come down on us or something. The wind warning lasts through tomorrow, I think. I may need to look into planting some trees close to the back porch on the side as a wind break. The house is on a knoll with nothing to break the wind. No houses are close by to help even. While that helps with the view, I'd give up some view for a windbreak right now. HA!

Hello everyone, sorry I've been MIA since Christmas, been busy but not really doing anything either. Catching up on laundry, miscellaneous things. Lord willing and weather permitting, we're planning to leave in the morning for Nashville and will return on Monday. The weather forecast for tonight is "snow showers" so we could either have nothing or 2 or 3 inches, hard to say.
Happy Anniversary Mickey, hope you have a special celebration planned. How many years now?
Linda, hope the treatment goes well and that you get good news. Sorry you've been fatigued the last week. Hope your son has improved and has his visit rescheduled.
Nancy, the winds can really roar over here sometimes. It has been pretty windy out here too today.
Sandy, hope Baily is improving and will soon be back to her old self.
Sharon, do you have special plans for NYE?
Waving to Joy, Glenda, AIM & ATF, hugs to all, prayers to all in need,
Happy New Year to all - here's to health and happiness,
Bo

Were taking a short bathroom break during our movie.
Bo: Have a safe trip. I hope for no snow. This is our 49th.
Talked to our Oregon friends and invited them to come over for a bit when they arrive on the 31st. They and we are early to bedders, so they won't stay long. I might make black eye peas and ham in my Instant Pot.
We finished the movie before I posted this. It was excellent. Hard to beat Tom Hanks as an actor and Clint Eastwood as a director. And the miraculous story.
Good night to all.
