Today I am going to be with friends and we are going to a new place that is a "resort" - one of the ladies in the group asked if we could come play cards and the said yes so we are going to try it out, have lunch there and enjoy the day. That said...have to come up with a way to eat and stay OP if at all possible! Thank you for a great week! Tomorrow we head into the last week of this challenge with Jan to lead us. Hope you were successful in meeting your goals...at least a little bit Questions: 1. What are some of your favorite ways of eating: Summer Squash * we only have zucchini and I sometimes wish we had a variety to make a nice saute...oh well. We do stuffed zucchini or I make it deconstructed with meat and rice and tomato, raw, in tomato sauce, with lemon and garlic and olive oil Sweet Corn * I like it but don't often fix it...not sure why. Need to get some ears and fix them at some point because I do like them BUT is it the corn or the melted butter and salt I put on them that I really like? Tomatoes * I have one in the morning cut into 6 portions, seasoned then cooked in the microwave - eat it with egg on toast and make that into six bites to eat with the tomato - not sure why. I like tomatoes sliced with a sprinkle of sugar.2. Where do you buy your produce? Or, do you have a greenhouse for winter and a grade A garden during summer that provides all your needs? Hubby is the grower of produce and during summer I am sometimes limited to what he brings from the garden even when I might want to have more variety. When we buy he usually goes to a family run roadside place or the supermarket if we are there anyway.3. FUN: What shoes do you recommend for summer? Have you found a comfy sandal or shoe style that you always look for? Do you do the nail polish on the toes to be flirty or just leave them plain? I usually buy shoes when in the States...and have not been for almost 4 years SO my shoe options are running low. I have and like pairs of Taos (I think?) sandals, birkenstock sandals and for walking have some that are great...though heavy (Keen)...must be others...Teva? I also have some croc thong type sandals that I enjoy wearing that sparkle. No nail polish...might get a pedicure at some point...we will see.

PERSONALS Beverly: I may have to nip in and "borrow" your salt cellar - I love blue and white! Might look for something to use in my kitchen that is NOT the plastic I am using now. Judy: Savory sweet potatoes is something I have only tried recently. One of my friends from Africa uses them...also likes them since she is diabetic and they are lower on the glycemic index for her. Interesting about the knife on the keychain and taking it off...wonder if they would allow it if you asked? Your purse sounds like mine when I am getting ready to travel Cherry: I like your ideas for the frig. I did see a freezer on the bottom with three drawers to pull out (like that idea instead of one big space) and two doors on top with drawers for produce and meat...leaning that direction Good idea to have meds with you - especially if out and about with weather potentially iffy.Pam: I had not thought of having food in my purse...healthy OP countable food...wonder if they have anything here that would be 2 points to carry with me? Jan: You made me smile with the purse on TV price is right program Thank you for the recipe...saving to try later! Thank you for picking up the reins to lead this group next week! Looking forward to it!

1. What are some of your favorite ways of eating: Summer Squash - sauteed with tomatoes and onions and any other vegetable that is handy or sounds good. I also like to cut them in thick slices lengthwise and grill them, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Sweet Corn - Most any way, boiled, grilled, cut off the cob and used in salads or other dishes. Tomatoes - When they come from my garden I slice and eat with a little salt and pepper, also in salads. Canned tomatoes I use in many dishes.
2. Where do you buy your produce? Or, do you have a greenhouse for winter and a grade A garden during summer that provides all your needs? In the summer I have my garden. I have a greenhouse, but it is not heated for winter use. I use it in the spring for starting flowers and some vegetables For other produce I buy in the grocery store.
3. FUN: What shoes do you recommend for summer? Have you found a comfy sandal or shoe style that you always look for? Do you do the nail polish on the toes to be flirty or just leave them plain? I've always liked slide-ins for summer. I don't have any recommendations as far as brands, though. I just get what is available and feels good on my feet. I used to polish my toenails sometimes, but I haven't for a long time.

I love summer squash and zucchini. Patty pan squash is a similar squash. I will share my great aunt's recipe for patty pan squash recipe.
I love pedicures and colorful toes. I tend toward reds, but right now my toes are orange.

Hi Ladies. As I am reading Cathy's personals, I realize that the tv show was "Let's make a Deal" with Monte Hall. Is that dating me ?
Questions: 1. What are some of your favorite ways of eating: Summer Squash Sauteed, grilled.
Sweet Corn I have problems eating foods that have "kernals" (corn, sesame seeds are a few), so I don't eat corn very often as I know that the next day I will be sick. Maybe once or twice during the summer I will decide it is worth it.
Tomatoes Don't care for green tomatoes, but I grow cherry, grape and slicing tomatoes. During the season, I seem to be eating tomatoes every day. If I have extras, I will make them into tomato sauce for the winter.
2. Where do you buy your produce? Or, do you have a greenhouse for winter and a grade A garden during summer that provides all your needs? My garden supplies most of my summer produce and I have a friend who supplies me with any other veggies I might need. We also have several produce farms not far away.
3. FUN: What shoes do you recommend for summer? Have you found a comfy sandal or shoe style that you always look for? Do you do the nail polish on the toes to be flirty or just leave them plain? Right now I am wearing Chaco sandals. I also have a pair of leather slipon sandals. I don't polish my toenails- plain all the way.
I am ready to take over tomorrow. Signups for the next round will start on Sunday. I hope everyone will join us and consider hosting again. We need to grow this group !

1. What are some of your favorite ways of eating: Summer Squash - Probably not eating it! I have not found a good way that I enjoy summer squash. I will use it in recipes - in fact, just made meat loaf today with zucchini, but I don't think it has much taste. Sweet Corn - Not a WW friendly choice for me, it needs butter and salt. Good memories of growing lots of sweet corn when I was growing up. Tomatoes - Sliced, with salt and pepper. If we get a lot of tomatoes at once from the garden, I might can some sauce or I might dry some.
2. Where do you buy your produce? Or, do you have a greenhouse for winter and a grade A garden during summer that provides all your needs? Farmer's market in summer. We do grow tomatoes, but that's the only vegetable. Otherwise, grocery store.
3. FUN: What shoes do you recommend for summer? Have you found a comfy sandal or shoe style that you always look for? Do you do the nail polish on the toes to be flirty or just leave them plain? Ugh...not such good feet, so I tend to go for shoes year round.
