Hello Ruth - I'm glad you were able to get your grocery shopping done and how nice to get to see your grandson. Ginny - I hope that you can get some rest this weekend and work on the quilt. I started making the jelly roll quilt this morning. It's not difficult, just a bit time consuming. I finished sewing together the 20 sets of 2 strips and I made the first cuts for half of the strip sets and then I just needed a break. I hope I might be able to cut some more of those later because tomorrow I'll still have to cut each of the first cuts into 3 more cuts before I can start piecing the blocks together. Hopefully I can it finished this weekend. I love the fabric I chose, it's so pretty up close: www.fatquartershop.com/cascade-jelly-rollTake care and have a great weekend

Ginny, you always seem to be so busy.I hope you can get that grape jelly made so you can cross that off your list however from previous years it seems like your grapevines produce a lot of grapes. I hope you can work on the quilt too.
CJ, I really like that jelly roll. I think it's going to work very well for you
Not much going on here. I set an unrealistic goal for making this blanket. It was to get 10 inches done each day. I've worked on it 3 days now and it's barely 20 inches. It's pretty wide though to doing each row takes time. Next week here there are supposed to be some nights where it will go down to high 30's. And later this week high's will be only in 60's.

CJ- that fabric is so very pretty! It’s reminiscent of the pretty blue and yellow combination that I find so pretty. I hope that you are happy working with the fabrics even if it’s a bit tedious working with the jelly roll and getting the strips cut.
Ruth, well a wide afghan will take a lot of time to work though. Your cooler temps will be perfect for crocheting…and your temps are going to start dropping awfully soon. Have you seen any new pics of your new grandchild?
I did get to the store today (so I do not nave to go for a few days ) and then did get a load of laundry done. Also painted the deck steps (which needed it as new lumber was put on them this summer) and I did, thankfully, get the jelly done for this year. Oh, I could probably pick another batch of grapes for jelly but most of the large bunches have been picked already. I think the birds can have the remaining grapes. I am tired- did not fall asleep until late last night because i had practice last night. So I am guessing I will be in bed early this evening.

Good morning!!
Got into my pjs pretty early last night, but i had some trouble falling asleep. I did watch a movie and read a bit. I started the last book written by Billy Graham (loaned to me by someone from my church) and I think I will enjoy reading.
Got another nice weather day here, low 70’s.
CJ and Ruth, hope that you both slept well and can get some crafting in today.

Hello - Hope you are doing well and having nice weather. It's been much cooler here, only in the 70s with a few sunny days and today a few showers. Ginny - Hope you enjoy the book and that you get to relax today before the week ahead. Ruth - I hope you getting to do some crocheting. I finished the jelly roll quilt and it's alright. The pattern was good but my fabric choice was not the best since the pattern really needs clear lights and darks. There was also a lot of sewing and cutting, so I doubt I would make this again. I also had to rip out several rows because I didn't get the lights and darks in the right position. I had a sewing machine accident yesterday that I thought I could never have - I ran the sewing needle through the tip of my fingernail and finger The worst thing was having to lift the needle back up through my finger. Fortunately it was near the end and didn't do too much damage or hurt too much. But I was a bit leery using the machine this morning Take care

Oh my goodness, CJ. That had to be a horrible experience and yes getting the needle back out had to have been really hard to even get yourself to be able to do it. It's one of those "grit your teeth and make yourself do it" things.
