I guess my problem wasn’t over after all as once I did eat something it started up again. But had settled down by the time we went to bed. I got on the scale this morning and only gained half a pound so was happy with that but then I really didn’t snack at all and my meals I never finished as there was too much food so stopped when I was satisfied and left the rest.
I see the retinal specialist Monday at 3:10. But if our insurance won’t cover it then I won’t do anything as the procedure only slows things down but doesn’t cure anything and is pretty expensive if you have to pay in full. My brother had to stop treatment as he could no longer afford $250-300 per visit which was once a month even though they set up a payment plan he could not keep up with that even.
Laundry today and grocery shop. I’ll have to talk to Fred about what we’ll do next year for our two grandsons college graduation in May and then the wedding in August as that’s about a seven hour drive and I just can’t do that long on the road anymore even with breaking it up with several stops and if Debbie decides to go and wants us to go with them we already have told each other that won’t happen as traveling with them is just way too stressful for us as she gets very argumentative and we like to travel at our own pace and have peace. But that’s 8 months and 11 months away so I’m sure we’ll figure out something as this is our first grandchild to get married.

Good morning. Sandy, I just had to laugh at myself because when I first read your post I read rental specialist. Couldn't figure it out excactly what you were talking about until I went back and read it again. I'm sorry it's nothing to laugh about and for sure my friend I wasn't laughing at you but at myself. That is a lot to pay for treatment. I think you need to consider how you and Fred prefer to travel. That is what is important. I know you'll figure it out.
If you happened to see my Last Call post yesterday you'll see that I visited the doctor yesterday and he's thinking I might have a cracked or fx rib. Have to wait and have a CT scan to be sure. That will be on Tuesday. I asked what they do for that and he said nothing just maybe give some pain meds. Guess they use to wrap your chest but don't do that anymore. I'm a bit uncomfortable especially moving in certian ways. Have to be careful what I do with my right arm. Lynda asked if I wanted to go to my grandsons today but think I'm better off just staying home. Riding that far is hard and I get so stiff.
I know fall is coming when the walnuts start hitting the roof. Squirrels are happy but Ozzie doesn't like it. Have a good day. Good morning Phyl and Debby, love you bettyj

I want to thank everybody for their support and love. I know on this thread I always find the support I need. We can share anything and no one judges. My house just seems empty without my little Casey. He has He has been with me for so long. Someone asked yesterday if I didn't have another little dog and I do. I have my little lily. She was quite abused and underweight when we got her. She's missing Casey too.
Sandy I must have missed something because I'm not sure what type of treatments your brother was having but I understand that you have the same problem? That sounds like a terrible amount for any treatment and I wonder why insurance doesn't cover that..
Today I'm going to spend the day trying to catch up on my drawing. I think I'm about 4 days behind but I'm going crazy but it's so bad I just couldn't do anything else but take care of him. Plus I feel totally worn out so that's my plan for the day
Betty I'm sorry to hear that you are in pain. That's the other day my son and I were talking about cracked ribs because he thought maybe I might have gotten one when I fell but I don't think so now. He was telling me how they didn't wrap them anymore and just let them heal on their own it seems more painful I wonder why they think it's best not to wrap them? I hope yours heals fast and you don't have too much pain. I agree it's a lot easier to stay home when anything is bothering a person ,just can't go and be comfortable

Hi! Happy weekend!
Linda, you are the first person I have heard say that they have altered smells when migraine threatens! Other than me! My doctor told me that I was imagining it, but my first signal was that things smelled funny. That told me to head home. By the time the aura appeared, I needed to be home and ready to take my med and lie down in a dark place. Do you have an aura? Mine was Superman's fortress of solitude. Everything looked like ice crystals. Hard to drive with that!
Thinking of Jenny and her Lily today. I know they will both miss doggie boy. But she did the kindest thing for him.
Happy Sabbath, Shragae!
Lucy, we have another cooler day. Do you? Hope you feel better today!
Thank you for starting us today, Sandy! I am sure you are still tired. Yo u may want to check to see if your insurance would pay for the treatment. If it will, that may be good, if it helps.
I like cinnamon raisin toast very much! That's why I never buy cinnamon raisin bread. LOL
Hugs! Diane

So sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose your pet. One of my neighbors lives alone and works all the time. She had a rescue Chihuahua who was blind with heart disease.
He died about a week ago and I feel so bad for her. It is so much harder than people who don't have pets can understand.
Sorry also for various health problems. From retinal to ribs!
Oy!
Well it is the Jewish new year so I will pray for you all and wish you a much better New Year.

Jenny, we are thinking of you and that is why after putting Calli down I said no more cats, can't do it anymore, I was taking care of my DGSs cat as well and had to have her put down as well. Love on Lily and do enjoy your favorite hobbies again. Knew you were not doing your drawings and have not heard about any wreaths either. How old is Lily? Is she a big dog or a small one ? Tell us more,
Cinnamon Raisin Toast with the frosting on top used to be a favorite of mine but can't eat raisins anymore. so now I just make toast and put cinnamon and tiny bit of sugar on top now and then,.

I got my medications set up for the week. I might mop the bathroom later. Linus is getting his service dog today. The dog's name is Red and is a real cutie. There is a lot of traffic today - there is a community wide garage sale open to the public. It's 70 degrees and rain is predicted.

Jenny when Shana #3 was hit by the car and spent several days in the vet hospital to see if they could repair the two broken legs and I spent a fortune on her but we decided to put her down because she had heart, lung and brain damage and still didn't even recognize us after three days. We had thought we would not get another dog but after a few weeks without one we decided to go look. The El Cajon dog and cat rescue brings their animals to one of the pet stores nearby. We sat outside watching all the dogs and some were barking and others climbing but one group just all bundled up together and slept thru it. I finally asked if their was a girl doggie there and he said Yes, just one. He handed her to me and she immediately laid across my belly so I brought her to Jim and she put 1 paw on each of his shoulders and licked his face....so that was the right one for sure. She was supposed to get big....70-80 lbs. but I do have a ranch she can run on so we took her. The vet who spayed her tied off one of her kidneys with her Fallopian tubes so after major surgery she has only one kidney and never reached her normal weight. She is 54 lbs. but still loves us the way she did on her first day. So, what I'm saying is, if you miss her then someday go to a rescue place and the right doggie will find YOU. And, by the way that vet that spayed her ended up paying me $17,000 which paid for the medical procedures and the lawyer I hired to sue him. Shana #4 still loves us like she did on day 1. I built a fence around the front yard so she can go out and I know she won't run in the street. Even the skunk she made friends with got hit by a car. It is a 55MPH road and many people even speed and go faster. We are in the outback! I should change my avatar again to show you the picture of Shana #4 laying next to Jim in bed.
Hopefully will see you later for tuck in. Once again I couldn't get online last night to do it.

Diane, migraine is actually a neurological condition, not just headaches. My visual is a glittering oval that starts as a dot at focal point and slowly widens into a donut I can see through. A friend goes blind for a couple minutes . Another has sound warp. I had one aura where I could not speak for a couple minutes while I was super anger with a business on the phone. Had two special MRIs to be sure not a stroke. Nope, it is a rarer problem for some of us with auras. I have had it happen a bit a couple other times. You just cannot get words out for a minute but can speak around the word you want slowly. Lot of weird stuff out there. And there are preheadache syndromes and post headache conditions that can last quite a while. I probably had the abdominal ones when I was a kid.

Well, today was try going to COSTCO day. Saturdays over the summer were not any worse. Well, today it was like three days before Xmas. Full lot, thankfully one last handicap spot open, and bumper cars inside.add to that half the store rearranged. Front all Christmas. I got to the far back for toilet paper and found dog things. Guy said it was moved to far back other side , and I could see it …would not let me limp through even though there was nothing happening. Boy was that a hike up to fresh foods, across liquor and backed goods to paper where tp was at the farthest point. I like to stay way ahead on that with our life being uncertain. Took forever to find eye drops…rearranged pharmacy. Never did find cough drops. As I got to check out, found the big bag of Halloween candy. Behind Xmas. Checkout guy said crowds were a surprise as it had been slow all week.sigh.
Sure does feel good to sit. did manage it but ankle hurts (supposed to be healed by now) and arthritis in knee talked a lot all the way home. Whatever I did to back moving unconscious spouse off glass comes back a bit with fatigue. It is going to take patient PT and extending my range for quite a while.

Linda: My DH#1 had those horrid headaches and I can remember how he had to take too many Tylenols (usually 4 of them) and lay down. I have never had anything like that -- in fact I hardly ever have even had a regular headache.
I finally got on tonight to say goodnight!
Tucking you all in with our blanket......We are all sitting in recliners at the edge of the lake and the beautiful colored sun is setting above the water......we will watch until it's dark....sweet dreams!

Hi!
Thought I'd better let you know I'm okay; I am.
This past week had had pick-up for the grands on two days. Tonight, was DD's group's benefit concert for a local Christian children's group. They were the "opening act" for a much better known group singers. The concert last year was the last time I saw my DSisIL alive.
Jenny, so sorry about your Casey. You and Lilly will have to comfort one another now. We miss our sweet Casey still, and it's been almost a year and a half now. So often I look for him in the places he enjoyed. My DFIL said Guy would have no more dogs. They always got killed on the highway so close to their home, and he said he wasn't going to go through that ever again. I think this was your special day, too. We'll celebrate another day.
Nancy, hope you get to meet Red very soon!
Betty, hope that rib heals quickly! Glad you are having it checked.
Diane and Lin, very interesting about the migraines and the smells. I'm going to be more aware of what happens following the strange fragrances/odors I experience.
Sandy, I hope your insurance covers the eye issues! I guess the value of the procedure would depend on the length of time that the deterioration can be delayed.
Must get to bed. We take a coffee cake tomorrow. It will need to bake for an hour in the morning; so I need to hop right up when the alarm goes off. Hugs to all -- especially those who posted, and I haven't addressed.
~~Molly

Migraines are horrible and they are indeed neurological. I've known a few people who have them and they are absolutely debilitating.
Kathie I so agree about letting a dog find you.
When I lost my first dog I literally cried everyday for a year. My father thought I was crazy. I've had many dogs since and it hurts terribly to lose one but one thing I've discovered over the years is that no two are alike. That is why I don't feel guilty about getting another dog because I know I'm not really replacing the one who passed. They are also very different but I think our hearts can hold as much love as we're willing to allow in it.
