Good morning, hope you are planning a wonderful , fun day today. I am not sure yet what I am doing. Guess whatever comes along. I have so much paper work I need to get to but this does not feel like the day to do that. Need to be in mood.
Quote of the Day
There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October.” — Nathanial Hawthrone
National Home made cookie day.
I am not sure if any of our missing posters will show up but welcome back and Jenny, do you have a name yet?

Yesterday was really hot so when Joe and Tracy got here we took them out for lunch and they still wanted to golf at a small nine hole 3 par course that Fred said can be played in an hour. I said well enjoy as no way am I spending ten minutes out in this let alone an hour. So they went and when they got back wanted to go Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Being Saturday it was really packed and even with Joe putting us on a wait list we still waited 45 minutes for a table. This time I only had the house salad and we got the rattlesnake bites as an appetizer. Joe was shocked that I didn’t get a steak but I told him I love their salad and when I get that as a side I can never eat the rest of my dinner so this time I decided just the house salad and I couldn’t even finish that after having a few of the rattlesnake bites and a roll. But we had fun and our server was hilarious and when the manager came by asking how our dinner was Joe teased her a lot but she was a good sport about it and Joe had made a reference about me being old and as she was moving on she bent down and said to me you don’t look a day over 25! So it was an enjoyable day.
Today is the luncheon and then we’ll come back here and visit more with Joe and Tracy and depending on if they’re hungry or not will take them out for dinner. Maybe Mexican. The luncheon is at a pub so basically pub food. What they’re known for is their pizza. Then tomorrow morning Joe and Tracy are leaving from their hotel first thing in the morning.
The heat will hang around for a few days and start cooling down Wednesday but Thursday temps will drop big time.

Good morning. Connie, thanks for taking October. Another warm day here, waiting for fall. Usual Sunday, church, errands, football if the Vikings are on, trip to the library for a new book and that's about all. Maybe try to get some things done outside but pretty achy this morning so may wait with that.
Have a Sunny Sunday. bettyj

Rabbit 🐰 rabbit 🐇 😂.
I love the name that was chosen for this month.
It is absolutely pouring out. I woke up to the sound of rain. When I went to take Dash out though it wasn't raining that heavily although it certainly was steady.
I managed to get a short little walk in for him to do all of the things he had to do... And now it is absolutely pouring out.
I had some groceries yesterday so hopefully just a nice quiet day puttering around the house and if the rain lets up I'll get my walk into the lake. I actually walked down there two or three times yesterday...

It's 10:00 here but Shana still out with her walk with Vanessa... It is drizzling out so they are probably hiding from the rain.
Jim just got up for breakfast. Hopefully he will stay up today.
See you all later for tuck in!

Just so you know I am not completely lazy. Painted the white wooden garage window. Also the one basement window on outside that has white cement blocks under it. Was the only one I needed to do. Rest look fine. I paint most around the window with dark brown and did that last year. filled the bird feeder, the finch one was okay. also put out a non melt suet cake and yes it is hot enough to melt it in the sun. Whew too hot to cut down the brown eyed susans. Maybe just before dark will work. It is 86° and very unseasonable have not even had a frost to call it Indian Summer.
Going to make egg salad, really prefer tuna salad with hard boiled eggs in it but don't have envelopes of tuna. so egg salad it is.
There are some kids in the neighbors side yard and he really hates kids so for sure will be out there to chase them away. just have a big orange ball. Not hurting anything but I know him. Kind of sad really

Connie, when I was around nine we had a neighbor with no sidewalk.the had grass there instead outside of there hedge and wanted nobody to walk on it! The old lady in the long black dress and those old black tie shoes they wore in the 50s would chase you with a broom rake! When I first saw Wizard of Oz I thought that was her.
Sandy your restaurant sounds like Rustlers' Roost here. It sits up on a butte with a fantastic view of the whole valley.
Easier to plant yesterday than I expected because the have put smaller root balls into bigger containers. I asu e to give them growth space until sold, but this way the price is higher. You do get a lot of good soil though. So the yellow bells went in after I determinedly chipped away to make a hole which will soften with regular water.
Today, after sawing a good sized branch off the pomegranate tree that was blocking sun from Meyer lemon, I planted one plumbago next to the almond tree stump…which is starting to rot so soil falls. That made it easy and added fill to it and new roots to use the space. I had lots of Minni help and had to chase her to wash her feet!
If you like Pom.fruit, and need a fast growing shade tree that survives nasty summer with sufficient water, plant that! I think there is a dwarf version too.
Minni did not need a walk after that, she slept for two hours!
Made Kerrygold cheddar cheese, hame, apple tarts for lunch. Quite good! easy with frozen puff pastry sheets.

Sorry I'm so late but just took care of Jim and dinner.....Yes, it's late and he left half of his dinner and is looking for a second dessert which I'm not giving him.
Tucking you all in with our new blanket. We are outside under two beautiful fall trees -- One with yellow leaves and the other with red. Our blanket we are on has baskets of apples and a couple small pumpkins in them and we're staying warm drinking our hot cocoa....sweet dreams!
