Happy Friday!!
CJ- do you have a preference for the blocks in the blue/cream/tan fabric or purple/light blue/print fabric combination? I hope you can make great progress on your blocks this weekend. That is wonderful that you are seeing the moda blockhead fat quarter differently and now they look better to you. Just so frustrating to put so much work into something and not be pleased with it. I totally understand how it seems to ruin a pretty piece of fabric when we have to cut into a design. And yes!! I totally agree, the humidity is not comfortable and It will be better when it the new weather front comes through.
Ruth, that is great news that they came for your garbage. There is a similarity to my problem with cable/internet. If you have only so many providers…choices are limited. Let’s hope that they are more responsible in the future and that no further phone calls are necessary. Oh I bet that new granddaughter is adorable and so loved by her family ( and you and Dh too!!!!!). Hard to believe she is 4 weeks already. Glad you got some solid crochet time in!! Nice and relaxing.
Yes, I got to Joanns today and found some nice fabric to finish the panel quilt with. The weather is supposed to be rainy this weekend….so I hope I can get a lot done on it. Then back to the baby quilt.

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today and having nice weather. It's finally back in the 60s here and a bit windy after rain this morning. I'm happy for the cooler temps and hope my house cools down soon. Ginny - I'm glad you found some nice fabric to finish your panel quilt, hope you are able to work on it. Ruth - Hope you have some fun projects going this weekend. I finished the last of the Moda Blockheads blocks for the pattern that came out this week. I'm going to try to keep doing all three versions for at least the 9 blocks that go through November. They are taking a break after that until January, so people can make two quilts if they want or combine all the blocks at the end. Here are my three blocks. You can see in the pink one how once the fabric are cut into small pieces you kind of lose the design. I like the blues and tans one and the purple one. The pattern this week for was a scrappy star so it was a nice chance to use a lot of the fabrics in the fat quarter bundle around the border. Hope you have a good evening

CJ, I'm not surprised that you have cool weather because we had cool weather last week. This week they claimed that several nights were going to have temps that dropped to low 30's but that didn't happen. Now we'll have some 70's days...so they say anyway.
I love the blocks but the bottom one is my favorite. I'm guessing to top one is the one you called pink. It looks orange on my laptop. It's still very pretty though and I like the blocks around the edges a lot.
Ginny, I hope you had a good day today. You're probably taking care of housework and getting ready for the new week.
I've done a bit of crocheting today and plan to do more. Last night I got tired of doing the blanket because the stitch is so repetitive so started both a baby hat and a larger one. I think I'll finish those after I do a couple more rows on the blanket.

Good morning and Happy Sunday!!
Pfew…thought I was losing my marbles. CJ - gee you have been busy and I like all 3 blocks in the different color ways. It’s a joy to have the cooler (but not frigid) temps, and the humidity has gone down. Much more comfortable and I hope your house is very comfortable for you right now. Now the reason i thought I was losing my marbles, the “pink” block is coming through orange on my Ipad. But it’s so great that we can share our work with each other!!! As usual your piecing is magnificent. And I can see what you mean about the larger prints being a bit chopped up by cutting into smaller pieces, but it does not bother me, I suspect that if you made enough of those blocks out of the pink fabric line, that the use of the larger prints would be evenly distributed throughout and not noticeable to you. My favorite is the middle block, which I suspect is blue and yellow, love that color combination.
Ruth, think we can all relate to a repetitive project and the need to break away from A project like that. I’m glad you’re working on something else for a little while I know you’ll go back to go back down and finish it up
Yesterday I got some housework done, and ran two errands. Late in the day I’ve found a pattern for the kind of quilt and I’m set up to start working on that today. I’m hoping to get a lot of it done.

Hello Hope you are doing well today and the weather is nice. It's in the 60s and windy here, a nice Fall day My house cooled down quickly, it's only in the 60s in the house. Ruth - I'm glad you have several projects to work on. Ginny - I hope you were able to work on the new quilt today. What is the pattern like? I finished the top for a Christmas table runner this morning. I had made one of the tree blocks from a quilt along that Primitive Gatherings is doing, but I decided not to make all 25 tree blocks. So today I made one more tree and also a Lemoyne star block and put the three of them together into a nice table runner. I hope to get it quilted and bound before Christmas A new pattern for one of my monthly quilt alongs came out today so I have two blocks to make for that and I might make this quilt from another quilt along that just lasts a few weeks: frommycarolinahome.com/2023/10/06/autumn-jubilee-quilt-along-begins-2/I have a mix of fabrics that I think will work for this top, so I'll give it a try. Take care

CJ- thanks for the inspiration!! The my carolina home site always seems to have such pretty quilts and table toppers….and that sure looks like a nice quilt. Congrats on finishing the table runner…. It sounds lovely! The way you make it sound, it appears as though you are planning on either using it yourself of giving the Christmas table runner as a gift. Sounds great.
I did rake some leaves today (you will hear me do that a LOT as I have lots of leaves fallen but tons more yet to fall). So I figure it I do a bag or two a day, I will get it all done eventually. No pretty leaf colors yet. I did start cutting fabric for the panel quilt…and will resume doing that shortly.
Come to think of it, I should make another fall table runner. I cannot find mine, and had a simple runner that was reversible from fall to Christmas. Gotta get this panel quilt done first and then back to work on the baby quilt.
Ruth, hope you had a good day! Ginny

CJ, the Autumn Jubilee blocks are very pretty and definitely "autumny" I'm glad you are making a Christmas table runner. Are you planning on using this yourself to decorate?
Ginny, it sounds like you have several quilt projects going at the same time. Will you show us a picture of the baby quilt when it's done. I'd actually love to see them all.
It's been a nice day just in general as well as weather wise. For later this week they're forecasting very cold days with one day a high of 43 and low of 27. I also now really like the times when the weather is not super hot nor super cold. I'm almost finished with the main part of the current afghan. I think I'll finish this row then do the border. I think it's plenty long enough. I am using Pound of Love in Denim and will still end up with 2 more pounds.
Well I guess it'sMonday yet again tomorrow. See you in the new week
