Susanne, what are you growing this year? Anything new? I live very close to Ball Seed Co, who is I believe the largest seed co on earth. We can thank them for wave petunias! I've been there several times for field trips and industry events. They have so many trial gardens, and it's really cool to see all the plants before the market. If I were to work anywhere that would be my first choice. Our garden club is going to try to grow a few new things this year. Purple Okra is beautiful. Ornamental Oregano didn't germinate last year and I'd really like it, so we might try it again. We saved seeds from one of our field trips for some sort of squash or fruit from not sure where but it was really cool and did really well here. It's fun to grow from seeds. New experience for me. Pat, I know why you popped back so fast after your sore throat! You are one ball of healthy energy! Good for you! Anetta, what area did you live in Indiana? My neighbor has a weekend home in Michiana Shores I believe. My friend is in Chesterton. I like the area, but not crazy about the drive through Gary area. I've got the morning to regroup! yay! Staycation is a lot of work! I'm going to need a vacation after this, haha!

affirmation - I do believe in miracles! health goal - visit Byron Katie and do the Work! fitness goal - cardio gratitude - lots of quality time with Danny. I'm afraid after this trip it might be over.
Did anyone discover a new appetizer recipe over the holiday? I'm hosting New Years Eve Game Night and asked that everyone bring a new recipe, but I don't even have one, so I best get looking and cooking here.
I got 3 new games for Christmas. My all time favorite is Splendor. It can be played with 2 to 4 ppl and is a fairly quick game that doesn't require major brain drain. I've really become a super game geek haven't I?

Good morning to all! Lisa, I love the colors in your new avatar. Sorry, I haven't made in appetizer in forever!
Daily Affirmation - borrowing from Anetta - "Come on, let's do it!"
Fitness Report - just my boring PT yoga and Pilates. I'd planned some Kundalini or adding on some Rodney Yee, but had a homemade chicken stock that absolutely needed to be used, so I made chicken soup from it.
Health Goal - do my best to get in a walk today and work hard at M.O.G. tonight.
Gratitude - 2016 is wrapping up. I hope 2017 won't be as hard on our beloved musicians, actors and other favorite celebs who bring us joy.

Good morning, all you Angels! Lisa, thanks for getting us going today. Lisa, love the hopefulness of your new avatar! I lived in Valparaiso (love that name!) for a year, then relocated to Whiting for the next four years. My boss and his wife lived in Chesterton, but I never ventured that far east along the lake. I remember thinking how much Lake Michigan looked like the ocean. It has such a scenic coastline. Wow, you're going to have a busy time growing next year! Love hearing about all the new and different varieties of plants you and your club will be trying out. I'm mulling over putting in one small raised bed to grow at least a few things, just enough to be able to pick and eat. Good luck finding a quick, easy, and tasty appetizer for your get-together! Pat, I'm sending energy your way for a walk and tonight's session at M.O.G. We ARE doing it! Hi to Suzanne, Michelle, Carol, and Pam! Daily Affirmation - May my authentic self shine through today! Fitness Report - Morning walk done. Dog walk next and functional fitness from finishing up the yard still to come. Health Goal - Get it together with portion control and tracking! Stay well hydrated. Gratitude - Full-body relaxation, thanks to the guided meditation I did upon waking this morning. I feel good! Have an awesome day, friends!

Hello, Dear Angels: I'm waiting for the next round of snow to hit us. Not much accumulation; with any luck it will turn to rain by the time it gets here.
Pat, are you going to see anything from the Nor'easter I heard about? Hope you're continuing to recover from the bug you caught.
Anetta: I’ve got hot tea in hand and am ready to browse the seed catalogs. How lovely your summers must have been living so close to Lake Michigan. I have a great appreciation - and respect! - for Mother Nature's bodies of water. She can certainly show her force within the water.
Lisa: OMG! You're so lucky! I'd love to see those trial gardens at Ball Seed. I am a wave petunia fan and grow at least one variety from the group each year. I'm not sure what I'll be growing this year. A definite hit last season was a marigold (Alumia Vanilla Cream from Park Seed). It wasn't cream; it was yellow, but it was a light, clear yellow. I absolutely loved it with blue/purple (Verbena, petunias, Scaevola). I know I'll grow lots of those because they were easy and great for a splash of color here and there. And the bunnies and deer don't seem to care for them. I would love to continue to have a few edibles. We'll see if next season I can manage a raised bed. I had hopes of having one last year, but ended up with everything in pots on the patio. The raised bed will need to be built; then fenced off from bunnies and deer.
Carol: Welcome back. Its a busy time of year. Glad to see you posting again.
Daily Affirmation: Peace in my body and in my thoughts. Peace through my words and my actions. I choose peace today. (thanks to Anetta for this one)
Fitness report: short (indoor) cycling route to warm me up and 30 minutes of weight-training.
Health Goal: Offset the holiday treats with clean eating
Gratitude: for this evening's gathering with family and friends
Namaste, Suzanne

Carol good to see you stop in!
Suzanne, I feel like I never had that virus! It was the craziest - and fastest leaving - bug ever. Thanks for asking. Enjoy your seed browsing and armchair gardening - that's my favorite kind.
Anetta I saw one of the Great Lakes when my sister lived in Michigan and was also amazed that it looked like an ocean, and even had waves! Your guided meditation sounds so nice.
Hello out there to Michelle!
