Ginny, It's so great to hear that your physical went well and blood work results were good. I hope you can get some rest on the weekend.
CJ, Seeing all the blocks and colors coming together at the end of a Qal or actually any quilt has to be so pleasurable.I'd also bet that you'll have that hand quilting you mentioned done by the end of the month.
It was warmer today and when I woke up all the snow at our altitude was gone but the mountain is covered. Snow is pretty if you don't have to be out in it. In a later next week we're to have a couple warmer days in the 70's then real winter will be here I'm sure. I'm hoping to get some good crochet projects planned so that I'll have something creative and fun to do during the long stretch of cold days that we'll have before spring comes again
I didn't get much crocheting done last evening after we got home. A book I had on hold became available so I read. I did crochet today and will probably do more this evening
See you both tomorrow

Ruth, how is the book that became available? Just a silly question for you but something that every reader faces. if you ar reading a book and halfway through its just going nowhere- you cannot get hooked by it- do you continue to push through the book or stop reading it? Reading can be a nice break from crafting, Snow on the mountains sounds so pretty! Great idea to have some fun projects planned for the long winter months.
CJ- well you sure did make some beautiful blocks and quilt tops. Think the best part is that you were able to use up fabric that you have always wanted to use, and besides creating some beautiful blocks and quilts, that is a great feeling. And yes, those basket blocks are lovely. Stay comfortable during this cooler and rainy weekend. You are making excellent progress on the hand quilting of the mini quilt.
I slept almost 8 hours last night- so I guess that tells you that I had a few long days and was tired. Mid day I did rip out some small sections of the panel quilt that I have to adjust slightly to make the fit better. I could’ve left it as it was and probably pressed it out but as the panel quote is a gift I want to make sure it’s as good as I can do. Last night I tried to access my blood work results on the Internet and they’ve changed the software that we use to access their medical records. I found my office visit in a bunch of other things but I can’t find my blood work, which I’m sure is there I just don’t know where to look. I’m not sure if my daughter is coming over today but I did see her late yesterday afternoon. I have a day of rain predicted here and I’ll be happy just to stay and do my normal Saturday house work and just relax

Hello Ruth - I hope you enjoy your book And some warmer days for you would be nice before the cold weather sets in. Ginny - I'm glad to hear you slept so long last night and hopefully you are more rested. Hope you can get the panel quilt the way you want it to be. It's rainy and in the 60s here, not too bad after all those nice days - so I can't complain. I added some sashing around the blocks I've made so far for Pat Sloan's quilt along (the one I'm using the gnome fabric in) and I was able to get the first row together. There are only three rows in this quilt. I really like the way she gives you the whole quilt layout at the beginning of the quilt along, since I like to put my top together as I'm going along. I also cut up and sewed some fabrics from a jelly roll that I'm using for another quilt. I think this one is called "Pandora's Box". I don't have an actual pattern, I just used the measurements I saw on a blog post and/or YouTube video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=55EKYr8eR9sI figured this would be a quick top to put together, but I think I'd like to add a couple of borders so I'll have to buy some coordinating fabric. Or I could try a border like they have in the video. I'll have to see after I've put the top together. This is the jelly roll. www.fatquartershop.com/peachy-keen-jelly-rollTake care and have a good day!

CJ, that is one great thing that I noticed about the quilt you are working on, that PS provided the layout from the beginning. Now you can modify it or proceed with the quilt depending upon what you your desired look is. Like you, I had a wet day, but do not think my temp went above 60. The Pandora’s box quilt is so cute, looks very similar to one of those Fabric Cafe quilt patterns I have, those of course do not call for a jelly roll. Have fun putting it together….think you like peach fabrics in your quilt. It should be very pretty !!!
Got a lot of housework done today…and did fix the problems with the panel quilt. Think my cat got off the table so I can start the quilt sandwich.
Ruth, how is that book coming along? Hope you are enjoying it.

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today and having nice weather. It's only in the 50s here today and breezy. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to fix the problems with your panel quilt, hope you can finish it soon. Ruth - Hope you are enjoying the weekend. I finished making all the blocks (30) for the Pandora's Box quilt this morning and figured out how I want to lay them out. I'm doing a 5 across, 6 down for the rows. This quilt won't be very big 40x48 and it could really use a border, but I'm not sure if I want to order fabric from the line to finish it. I guess I'll think about it. I know I could just use another fabric, but I always feel like I need to stick with the fabric from the line when I make a quilt like this. I probably need to get over that feeling I also hope to do some hand quilting this evening when I'm watching TV. I finished all the four sides of the medallion and I just have two quilting lines that go all the way around the block to quilt. I like doing that straight line quilting. Then it will be ready to bind and I'll have to hand stitch the binding down since I don't like doing a machine binding on a hand quilted piece. I'll be excited if I can get this done by the end of the month. Take care!

CJ- the end of the month is just around the corner…only 2 weeks to do Sounds like you are in a good place to complete the medallion quilt. Because it’s not that large a project, I hope it’s easy for you to finish. For the Pandora’s box quilt, do you have a pretty solid that coordinates the prints? I always like the look of a solid border, especially if there is a print for the binding or Vice verse.
Ruth, how was your day?
I got the panel quilt all quilted…now just have to make the binding (which is cut) and attach it.
And tomorrow starts another week. Time flies. Ginny

CJ, I think that if I quilted I'd probably want to stick to the same line of fabric also. 40x48 actually sounds like a nice size for a quilt. It could be a nice lap quilt to keep you warm while watching tv.
Ginny, it sounds like you're almost done with your panel quilt already. Yes another weekend is over and new week starts tomorrow already. Before we know it the year will be over.
I've mostly crocheted today. I did do a couple other things but right now I was watching the football game and crocheting and thought I'd better stop in here and say hellol
