I fear that Jimmy may go soon after Rosalynn. Sometimes when one spouse dies that other goes soon after. He is 99 and has been under hospice care at home for awhile. Luanne, who was thinking the exact same. I’m so glad for them they got to have such a long life in partnership!

Sadly, I believe you are right about that.

I am glad the his wife went first because she so frail she would and would have understood at all. I think Carter will feel he is not reaponsible to be alive since died and will fell at peace and maybe slip away.

I mean he is at peace that she died first.

My grandparents were like that. My grandmother had been in ill health for years and was in a hospital unit where they lived when she passed away. I don't know how much longer my grandfather lived, but I know it wasn't even a full year. He had been caring for her for so long, and once she was gone he could let down. He was in his 90's, I don't remember his exact age when he passed. He was 7 years older than my grandmother.

My father's father died two weeks after my grandmother died. He was in the hospital and when he found out she had died a cousin told me he just gave up and died.

Trump was at the Texas border feeding the Texas National Guard, State Troopers and others who will be working over Thanksgiving, then whined about there not being enough food for himself. Typical.

I subscribe to The Economist and they do a yearly prediction on a number of issues around this time. The use a firm, Good judgment, whose track record is awfully good.
The relevant prediction I am posting: What will be the result of the United States presidential election in 2024 be?
Democratic nominee wins the electoral and popular votes - 65% wins the electoral vote but not the popular vote - 2%
Republican nominee wins the electoral and popular votes - 10% wins the electoral vote but not the popular vote - 25%
So I'm not going to panic as much as I have been.

lani, The predictions sound good. A downside to a Trump loss is the insurrection that will follow.

A downside to a Trump loss is the insurrection that will follow. I'll take that possibility.

If a Democrat behaved the way trump does the Republicans would be at him 24/7.
I try to understand what any reasonable and sane person would want a person like trump as our president.
The only thing I ever come up with is his supporters are exactly like him. Rude, crude, and indifferent. Perhaps many of them are watching and waiting for the End Times and a person like trump could speed up the process.
It troubles me that the USA is being mocked and laughed at by those who despise freedom and democracy, and too many of those doing the mocking are US citizens.
Divided we fall. If we fall and fail this time the American dream was more like a nightmare and our enemies will celebrate.

I would hope this time we’re more prepared for the mouth breathers’ insurrection attempts. No ability to hurt security and other law enforcement officers and smear poop on the walls. Lock down whatever needs locking down and have intelligence get some infiltrators in there like they did for the MI governor kidnapping plot. We know these people aren’t exactly smart.

finreporter, now now, you know it was just your typical Capitol tour, don't you? all that left-wing TDS news media got it wrong the entire time it was being aired, it was a deep fake! (lol yeah people believe that and it's scary on levels we've never seen before).

The news is saying Israel and Palestine may extend the cease fire to exchange more hostages. That's great, on the surface, but it makes me wonder of Hamas is just buying time for their arms dealers to get them more weapons
