CJ, I'll be praying that things work out well for you. I think about you a lot. I hope you can escape worries for awhile making quilts.
Ginny, I'm thankful that your son made it home safely and hope he doesn't have to do many doubles. I know the kind of work he does is extremely stressful as my ds did the same work for a fairly short time years ago and it really affected him.
Today we've been planning how we're going to organize the house for the time after dh has his surgery and won't be able to walk up and down stairs (which he can barely do now). We now have it figured out and just have to actually work to make the needed changes.
I ripped out the blanket I started, tried another and abandoned that one and started a third. The third one is working well but is a time eater do I'm going to set that one aside and do two simple ones and will get back to those later.

Ruth, have you been able to get a date for Dh’s surgery? I know it’s been awhile getting doctors visits scheduled. I pray that you can make the necessary changes to your home and lifestyle to accomodate your DH.
CJ yes, I too will pray that whatever you are doing in your life works out well for you. Like, Ruth, I hope you can get some quilting time in so that you can relax. The big stitch quilting looks like such a fun project, and i hope you can work on that and relax.
Worked a lot today… and then came home and started some preparation for decor for Thanksgiving.

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today. It was around 70 here today. Thanks for your support, I appreciate it Things are just going to be hectic and kind of crazy through the end of the year for me. Ruth - I'm glad you've figured out how to set up the house for your DH to get around after his surgery. And I'm happy for you that your third blanket is going well. I see lots of yarn sales at JoAnns (from the emails I've been getting). Ginny - Hope you were able to get your Thanksgiving decor going. Are you having the meal at your house this year? I dedicated some hours this morning to making the last block of the Autumn Wonders (Pat Sloan) quilt along for the Gnome version, and I finished the block and put the top together. I'll try to share a picture soon. I'm happy with how it came out and I sure will try to avoid making another quilt with directional fabric that has to be fussy cut - I was crazy doing that Take care and have a great weekend

CJ- you brave woman…..I think I would almost never take on a directional quilt with a fussy cut fabric…and you did just that. But you really love the gnome fabric…but we know you love that fabric a lot!!! Whatever is going on that will have you so busy - we are here for you and hope it all goes well. Just remember to try to get some quilting time in!!! 70 degree is pleasant enough…and at least you did not have to run heat or airconditioning to get through the day.
Got practice at church this evening. I am kind of tired, but will get through it somehow. This is going to sound crazy but my Christmas tree is up (went up last weekend) but I do have some fall decor up in other rooms. Ok I do sound dysfunctional. My thanksgiving decor are all edibles. I make acorns from mini nutter butters, hersheys kisses and chocolate chips, and cornucopia from sugar cones (with sprinkles on the open side) and candy corn as the vegetables in the cornucopia. I have made them for years….festive and edible. They are pretty much done. I will be celebrating with my DD’s and their families and DS, who thankfully has the day off. Or at least now he does, with the way his workplace is going I suppose there is a likelihood that they take that day off away.
Ruth, hope you had a good day….

CJ, there are a lot of people in all the crochet groups that make gnomes and one woman who seems to be exclusively making gnomes. I'm not crazy about them but I do love your quilt fabric with the gnomes.I'm glad you're very happy about how it turned out.
Ginny, I kind of suspected that you might have your tree up. I remember last year that you put it up before Thanksgiving. I'm glad your son has Thanksgiving off. It's another thing to be thankful for to have your entire family gathered together.

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today. We have colder weather here today, in the 50s and windy. Ginny - What a great idea to have edible Thanksgiving decor, I bet the grandkids love them I hope your family will all be able to be together. Ruth - I enjoy the gnomes in quilting fabric, but I'm not that interested in them as figurines or statues. They've been a big craze in quilting the last few years, so I was happy to get to make my gnome quilt. The only other thing I might make is a small quilt with the leftover fabric. I had an eye exam to go to this morning, I knew I needed new glasses so I was happy to get my appointment done. The rest of the day I have a bunch of other stuff to do at home. Here's a copy of my quilt top for the Autumn Wonders quilt along. It was a fun quilt along and I enjoyed working with these fabrics. I think I'll need a darker fabric for binding on this quilt since the outer border is lighter than I'd usually choose. Hope you get to do some crafting this weekend. Take care

CJ, yes I love the finished top also. You did a great job and the colors are wonderful too. Some people have posted other things made with gnome shapes such as towel toppers and they are nice but I agree with you that the figurines and statues of gnomes are just now on my favorites list. Have a good day and don't work too hard on your house chores. I too have to get busy and start to move some things around. First chore is unburying our roll away bed and making a good path to get it out of my craft room. Then I have to move some of my yarn and finished projects into that space in the craft room in order to make room for the rollaway bed in the living room (my craft room extension... Luckily I've used up a bit of my Herrschnerrs worsted yarn so have that space to use for something else.

CJ- Bet those new glasses will be great to help you with your crafting and quilting!!! Funny how some folks like gnome fabrics (as you do) but are not fans of gnome statues or figurines. (Got a friend who likes gnome figurines). The quilt is adorable…well done!
Ruth- yikes this sounds like a lot of work, and I wish I could come over to help. Glad you were able to get some of the Herrschenerrs yarn used up….and I hope that helps make room for the rollaway bed.
Funny CJ mentioned her eye doctor…I go on Tuesday for my appointment with the eye doctor. I went to see DD and her little ones today, they are finally starting to move upstairs (which badly needed renovation- some areas were unsafe which is now corrected). Got to see the new baby again…such a sweetie. Ok me and ny Christmas tree. My birthday is just before Christmas, and while I expect little (or really nothing ) from my birthday….I also know that it’s almost impossible to celebrate, because it’s overshadowed by Christmas. I do love my Christmas tree up, and it does make the room feel extra cozy when daylight hours are decreased in the winter. So I put my tree up early. Yes, i know I am nuts…..
Time to go embroider.

Ginny, you are not nuts. If putting the Christmas tree up early makes you happy then it's the right thing for you to do. Yes I imagine your birthday has always been over shadowed by Christmas. It must have been especially hard when you were a child unless your parents took particular care in making sure your birthday was properly celebrated.
Well I did get a path made so we could get the bed out if we needed to sooner but I do have a lot of work left to do in that room and in the living room alcove. I'll get it done even if surgery is scheduled soon after our office visit which I seriously doubt but do want to be ready.I have a lot to donate and it's now in bags which will be stored in my truck until we get a chance to take it to the Rescue Mission store.Right now it's still in my living room and I'll take out a couple bags a day to store in said truck.
I did find room in the space previously occupied by Herrschnerrs yarn to store that which was being stored on the rollaway bed. It's mainly RHSS and Mainstays yarn which might be my next group of yarns to try to use up. Every time I go into that room I wonder what in the world was I thinking to buy all that yarn. However, rumor has it that yarn prices are going to skyrocket next year probably due to the chaos in and around Turkey where much of the yarn we use in this country is made. Either that or it's a ruse by yarn companies to cause people to crisis buy.I'm not going to buy anymore unless I get another of those deals when I get over $100 worth of yarn for $18. I doubt that's going to happen. I'm sure at my age I already have a lifetime supply of yarn and just need to be creative in using it in order to put what I have together so that it works well.
Ok see you all tomorrow.

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today and having a nice day. It was sunny and in the 50s here again. Ruth - I'm glad you were able to get the path to get the bed out if you need it. It's so difficult moving things around in our houses. Hope you can get more things together to donate. Ginny - I hope you are enjoying your Christmas tree and that you were able to embroider some. I didn't get any quilting done today since I was busy doing things in the house. But I hope to finish the two Christmas quilt tops that I have in progress in the next few weeks. When I came home from my eye appointment yesterday I saw there had been a car accident in front of my house. There was a bunch of debris in my driveway and down at the road, so I went outside this morning with my heavy broom and swept everything down to the road and then away from my driveway to the curb. At least I can go out now and not drive over all that stuff. It took me about 30 minutes because I had to step back every time cars were coming up the road. I live on a busy 4 lane road, so it's dangerous being close to it. Take care and have a good evening

CJ- gee that sounds like a lot of work, having to clear up after the accident. So sorry you had to do that - too bad whoever towed the vehicles away did not clean the debris. Hope that tomorrow you can go back to quilting to get the projects done as you have planned.
Ruth, better safe than sorry and I am glad that you are ready should Dh’s procedure be scheduled for sooner as opposed to later. Congrats on getting all the items ready for donation. Go easy taking the bags of items to donate out to your truck- Lord knows you do not want to irritate any previous strains or muscle pulls.
Got to church this am….and then a friend came over- she needed someone to listen to…so I got very very little done today.
The Bills are playing the Jets now. I really dislike the Jets and hope the Bills win.

CJ, I'm sorry to hear that there was accident debris in your driveway. You would think that there would be people to clean up after MVA's. At least you were able to get some things done in your house but I'm sure you would rather be quilting.
Ginny seems to be among the missing so far. I hope all is ok.
This afghan I'm making is one of my use up Herrschnerrs yarn projects. The yarn is older from when Herrschnerrs didn't put color names or numbers on the yarn. No dye lots either. I'm making it mainly in white mostly because I don't know how far the other colors will go since I have only one skein of each of the three colors. I actually thought the colors would look pretty weird but now that I have about 11 inches done It actually looks quite pretty even though it kinda reminds me of candy corn.I'm making random stripes
I'm watching football too now and this week the Bills suddenly remembered how to play. They're playing very well and right from the start. Hopefully this will continue.

Ginny, we must have been typing at the same time. I'm sorry you weren't able to get much done but I'm sure your friend appreciates someone to talk to. Just had to rip out six rows
