The question about Black Friday made me think of our Phyl, who loved to shop at all sorts of places, usually with a friend. Sometimes she even actually bought something! I had a friend who shopped flea markets and garage sales with me. We had a great time and I have lots of wonderful memories of those little trips with Fran. Do you ever go “bummin’” like Phyl did?
Good night. Sweet dreams.

DB just texted me he has COVID rebound, tested positive again. He is contagious again then for at least five days. I hope he does't get long COVID.
looking like we will not be going to family Thanksgiving because of COVID. For the third time.😢😢😢

Linda so sorry to hear about your DB and how that will affect Thanksgiving plans. Hope it’s not long term COVID.
Yesterday Fred took over cleaning the bathroom. He decided he wanted to replace the caulking around the tub so cleaned that area first and also cleaned the ceramic pieces that I put my shampoo and body wash on. So today will finish by cleaning the toilet and sink. Like I’ve said before our bathroom is about the size of a closet! Today I’ll vacuum and he’ll clean the flooring. I’ll do the rest of my laundry and that should pretty much have everything done. We did find the cards we wanted at Walmart. So now Fred just has to get the cash to put in Mike and Joe’s family Christmas cards as that way I won’t have to mail it and they can give their kids cash from us at Christmas.
It’s funny as even though I’m excited to see my sister and have the wedding over I’m still sleeping just as usual no problem like I used to have when I was younger. I have learned how to turn my brain off (most nights!) and I think part of it is making a daily list and have it on my reminder app so it pops up until I either accomplish everything or move it to the next day so no trying to think of what I still need to get done.
Weather is still cooperating but will definitely start cooling off Saturday but I can handle cooler weather when it’s not raining.

Good morning. My friend Carol and I use to go bumin. Around here in the spring they have a 100 mile garage sale so we would take off early in the morning and go to sale after sale. I never bought much maybe a book or knick knack but we always came home with her car full of stuff most of it for one of her kids. The best was going out for lunch and just talking and laughing. I did go bumin with Phyl once. We went to a few quilt shops which was her thing not really mine. It was fun though. I bet her friend Delona misses their bumin days.
Sandy, if I give you my address would you send Fred up here. I have some caulking around my shower that needs replacing. Dave was probably the worlds worst caulker. Ended up with big lumps of caulk all over including on the BR floor. Not a fun job to clean up. He definitely wasn't a cleaner. I wouldn't even let him do laundry. Everything just got stuffed in the washer. When it got dried it got left in the clothes basket to get all wrinkled. Think he maybe did it that way so I wouldn't ask him to help.
Only a few more days now until the wedding. Lynda and Sean were married in November on the 20th. Guess I better get them a card. They have already celebrated when they took the trip to Ireland in August. I think it's 30 years this year. Time goes so fast. Dylan was just a little guy when they got married. He was all dressed up in a tiny tuxedo and was suppose to walk down the aisle. That wasn't his plan though. He got started and started crying and yelling "I Want My Grandma." Lynda picked him up and brought him to me. Of course that got a laugh from everyone even the ministers.
Overdid the cleaning yesterday. Didn't sleep well so probably won't do much today.

I forgot to post yesterday. I thought I let y'all know it was game day. I went in to read the posts this morning.
Our wedding was in church and just a small one. We got married on Friday night before Labor Day weekend. So we had just the 3 day weekend. That was back when your car was decorated with ten cans tied on the back and just married written on the rear window.
I'm not a shopper and even less now than in my younger days.
Have a great day. I will try to remember to get back here later today.

Hi!
Sandy, you always get so much done! You are wonder. I am so glad I have a cleaning lady for our apartment. I can no longer do a lot of things I would like to do, and that includes bumin..
Today it will reach mid-70s and then start dropping tomorrow to highs in the 50s. That is normal fall weather , and I like it. I love wearing my sweatshirts and enjoying warm drinks like cocoa. I like changing my clothes to the fall ones. Long sleeves and jeans -- my favorite!
Today we'll meet DGD1 for lunch and DH and I will share a turkey sandwich. Dinner this evening will be a frozen pizza. I'm trying to walk more steps, because my blood sugar is up around 110 in the mornings.
May this day be kind to you. Diane

Good morning!
Yes, I love shopping thrift or garage sales! Now that I'm attempting to declutter, I hardly ever buy anything. When DD moved out on her own, we found all of her furniture and Mikasa plates, etc., at auctions, garage sales, and Upscale Resale. She still has the bedroom furniture, and I think the plates. When the twins were born, I found the double stroller, several Pack & Plays, and the car seats for my car at garage sales.
Wow! I'd love to travel that 100-mile garage sale! What fun! Is there a map online? That might be a trip for DH and me -- he is also a "scavenger."
Thought I'd get to Walmart early . . . better go!
See you later! ~~Molly

I remember Phyl liked the quilt shops the best. I used to love to go to the big outlet mall here in our area. you parked at one end and then moved the car. At Christmas time was so much fun, everything decorated in stores and in the out side areas also. Lot of walking and freezing with that north wind blowing right between all the area. In summer hotter than a steam room. I think DD#1 is the only one that goes anymore. and it is still busy with Canadians in buses and Ohio close by and not sales tax on our clothes.
I do not shop much anymore, I don't enjoy it as much and my shopping buddy is not longer able to. So nice when you find someone that shops like you do. so me and online are doing just fine. I do shop for all my kids. I put money back all year towards Christmas. Remember Christmas Clubs? I still do that only my own style these days. I have already gotten ideas from my kids in North Carolina. they will not be home for holidays or Charlie's birthday either so I will have to have stuff send again this year. Do alot of mailing direct to their house.
I got a bottle of wine from California today and the UPS guy was pretty cute, he asked if I was 21 to receive the package. When I laughed and said well I think so, he laughingly said well I won't ask for ID!! Do remember those day when I did have to show ID. Long time after I was 21. Guess I will take this to DDs and the rest can try it as well. Have a California wine tasting. Can't tell if it is red or white or blush. Really dark bottle.
Linda, what will you do for Thanksgiving? Just cook for yourselves or invite someone else to join you? So sorry about the Covid again. Hope not too sick.
Caulking is so messy no matter who does it. Even my son in law who is so good at most everything hates caulking. I might try a couple places in basement wall that is losing it's caulking. next time I go to Busy Beaver to see what they have there. Would like a smaller gun if there is such a thing. Darn stuff dries out so fast as well even in the tube.

Mollyann, 100 mile garage sale starts the last weekend in April. Runs along the Mississippi from Winona MN to Lake City, Wabasha, RedWing on both the MN and WI side of the river. I know there are other states that have them too but not sure when or where.

Thanks Bettyj! Doesn't seem so far once we reach the Mississippi.
Connie, the Outlet Malls along I-70 between KC and St. Louis have closed. There was one that was really nice at the Lake of the Ozarks, but there are hardly any stores there now. A by-pass probably had something to do with it as well as Covid. It was so much fun to go there -- Totes, Harry & David, Hush Puppy Shoes, Ann Taylor, Carters, Samsonite, Onida, Makisa, Clarks Shoes and Easy Spirit, a Kitchen outlet. Sure miss that one.
Just had to spring up and zip to the kitchen. Guy has decided to make soup beans to go with our ham and cornbread. He put them to soak last night, rinsed them just now, started the burner, then went to our barn, leaving the burner on 5. I heard the bubbling and splattering after just a few minutes, so had to jump and run. He says he really "isn't hungry for them," but "just wants to know how to cook them."

DB called me from dr office…not COVID. BETWEEN allergies and bad air pollution lately his allergy caused asthma kicked up AND he has bronchitis. It was a false positive. He has lots of meds and is going to wear a mask anyway because of coughing. He has back ache from it. Poor guy desperately wants RSV, flu and COVID shots but has had to delay them because of special ablation treatments with steroids involved for his back. He is immune compromised from steroid treatment. At this point he does not need the COVID shot for a while.
So I am back to pie making and going there for Thanksgiving.

I cleaned out my foyer closet. I found some outdated covid test strips (they are now in plastic bags in the garbage. I also found a purse that I had forgotten that I had. Now the only things on the shelf are hats. It's 57 degrees and dark now. It was sunny all day.

63 at almost 6. Low tonight to be 49. Tomorrow I need to get out to the camper and start getting ready for camping Monday through Thursday with all of Son's family. I was asked to bring my dressing for Thanksgiving. Got it done and in the freezer.
