Day 28 – Get Ready to Weigh In
Tomorrow weigh yourself and make it on your chart if you are keeping one. Beck suggests not doing anything today to monkey with the results tomorrow. She also reminds us that if we lost a lot that doesn’t mean we will keep losing at this pace, if we lose too little remind ourselves the we are losing weight so the plan is working and we should celebrate any weight loss, if you don’t lose or gain weight remember there are other reasons your weight might be up, if after another week it doesn’t fall call your coach, also look back over your behavior this week and see if it needs some tweaks.
Do you weigh daily, weekly, monthly? What time of day do you weigh yourself? How do you handle your scale number? How do you track your weight?

I weigh in daily in the morning and mark the weight on the calendar by my computer. I keep the calendars for a couple of years so I can look back and compare my weight. I weigh in once a week in the evening and track that weight in the WW app on my smart phone. I think more about my evening weight ahead of time because I consider that my official weight. The morning weight bounces around in a range, so I just look at it to see trends.

I weigh myself daily, but record it only weekly. I record it in several places - my own handwritten notebook exercise and weight tracker, on the Happy Scale, WW, Healthi, and MFP apps, and in my signature line here. I record it in Happy Scale because it gives me a moving average - to even out fluctuations, and it gives me predictions and weight loss goals. I record it in the 3 weight loss apps because I use each of those from time to time, and they all present graphs differently. I record it here because I see it regularly, and it reminds me of why I got to these boards in the first place.
I still tend to react emotionally to the number, and I have to work on not changing what I'm doing for my weight management based on any one or two numbers.

Like susan092907, I also weigh myself daily, but record it on WW weekly. I enter my daily weights on MFP , and in susan092907,my datebook.

I weigh daily and record it. Confession: I also weigh at night. That way I always know where I'm going to be in the morning because the night to morning change is like clockwork for me. Also, my digital scale will hang onto the last weight it registered, unless there is a drastic change. I guess I could just give it a push in the morning and reset it that way. Case in point, this morning I weighed exactly the same as yesterday. I didn't weigh myself last night. I was suspicious and reset the scale. Voila, 0.6 lb. difference.

I weigh officially once a week for WIs while I'm in losing mode. But sometimes I do a WI, not recorded, on Wednesday, to see where I am for the week. Usually I can tell if I'll be down on Friday WI day if I'm looking good on Wednesday.

Friday am weigh in. I usually know where I’ll be based on weekly plan.

Every morning first thing without anything on and track in an app on the phone. The number is information that helps me know what might have helped/hindered weight loss.
