CJ, I love those quilts. I esp love the second one but both are very pretty and you did a good job.I'm glad you're going to be able to stay home tomorrow. It's too bad you have to be up before 8 to put the boxes out but it's great that you'll be able to go back to bed
We don't have anyone here that picks up donations so they have to be driven to wherever you're donating.
Ginny, I almost laughed out load about your grandson realizing eating the sprinkles was better and easier. I know it was a lot of fun to watch them. Your embroidery is so pretty and so intricate. I'd never finish something like that. I'd be very slow at embroidering and I'd become too impatient
This doll is mostly cloth but I'm not giving it to her this year. I will make some clothes for it and saving the doll and the clothes for when she's older. The doll is made strangely. It has a vinyl head and neck and hands and feet but the rest is cloth. I've seen dolls that had vinyl half way up the arms but never any that just had the hands vinyl or just the feet. It makes it hard to make things because it doesn't look right when the cloth part shows therefore you have to make long sleeves and legs.
I didn't really get any crocheting done today because I spent my crochet time ripping out ufo''s that I know I'd never finish. Now I can use the yarn for something else (like I need to do that...ha) I might still do some before bedtime.
Happy dreams!

Good morning,
CJ - you are probably busy getting your donations out. Hope you can get back to bed!!
Ruth - well ripping out unfinished projects is no fun but it does make room and yarn for other future projects.
Hope you both slept well-and can get some crafting in today

Hello Ruth - I'm glad you'll make some clothes for the doll and that you will have some "new" yarn after unraveling those unfinished projects I really like the second quilt I posted too, it's just so Christmas-y to me and I think it would neat on a bed or over a couch. Ginny - Hope you get some crafting in too. Thanks for your kind words on my quilt tops, I appreciate them. I was able to make the last block this morning for the BOM quilt along from A Quilting Life, and since I already had the sashing and cornerstones made, I put the center of the top together. Now I just need to make the inner and outer border and put it on. I didn't get back to sleep after taking out the boxes, but it didn't surprise me. I can rarely to back to sleep after waking in the morning. Of course after they were gone I found something else I could have donated I may just take that by The Salvation Army or Goodwill one day. I got out my artificial Christmas tree today, just to see if it still works, since I think it's been maybe 10 years since I had it on and it did work! I probably won't have time to decorate this year but I might just enjoy seeing it lighted in the evening for a bit. Take care

Good evening,
CJ - glad your donation pick up went well! I know the agency I use is awesome and always manage to show up. It’s nice to know that the charity takes their donation pick up seriously. What a bummer that you were unable to get a few more items out for pick up. Hope that the Salvation Army or Goodwill are not too far from you to drop off the other items. Do you plan on finishing the Christmas quilt? What a great idea to put it on your couch - a nice way to enjoy your efforts! Hope that you put your Christmas tree! It adds a nice warmth to the house during these shorter winter days.
Ruth- how was your day?
My day was a bit atypical- I went for a routine colonoscopy ( got a genetic history of colon cancer in my family) My doctor said it went well - no surprises. I am glad it is over with. Got no crafting in today- and I think I will have a quiet evening

CJ, I'm glad to hear that you're putting out your Christmas tree and I'm glad it works after all that time. I'm also glad you were able to finish that block and will be able to put the sashing and border on it soon. Either the Salvation Army or Goodwill will be happy to receive your donations that you were unable to put out today.
Ginny, I'm thankful that your colonoscopy went well and you had good results.I know you're glad to have that over with. Now you can rest and do whatever you want to do this evening to relax and rest.
I had to go out to do two small errands today. It was so horribly windy that I could barely stand. I didn't even stop at the mailbox because it usually is even more windy there and I don't want to door ripped off my car.The errands themselves didn't take long.
I started a blanket for a Christmas gift for my dh. I know there's only 18 days remaining before Christmas but this will go fast as it's made with bulky yarn and a large hook. I'm making it with yarn he bought.
Ds sent pictures and a couple videos of the grandchildren. The videos were of the new dgd. They were wonderful and I can't believe she's just under 3 months old already and able to do all those cute things.
I ripped out a couple more uncompleted projects again today. I'm not sure if I have anymore that need to be ripped out or not but probably. I'll look for more tomorrow.Tonight I'm going to do a couple hats
Have a good rest tonight...see you tomorrow

Happy Friday!!!
Ruth- you have been so productive recently, either ripping out unfinished projects or starting new ones. What is it that you are making for your DH? Do you think he suspects you are making something just for him? It’s so neat that you are making it from yarn that he bought (and therefore I assume that he likes that yarn!). So nice that you got some pictures and videos of your sons family and especially your new little dgd. Babies sure do grow quickly and they change so much and so very quickly in the first year. So sorry about the wind yesterday.. My DS attended a school upstate that was well known for extreme wind- they actually suggested that students who weighed under a minimum weight (think it was around 110 pounds) wear weighted backpacks so that the normal extreme winds would not blow them around!
CJ- hope you slept well…are you working on your next donation pick up? (Normally right after a donation pickup I start staging the stuff I forgot to put in the previous pickup)
Hope you can both get some crafting time in! G

Hello Ginny - I'm glad your colonoscopy went well I hope I don't have anything else for donation, but if I do I'd probably just take it myself to the donation center which isn't that far from my house. Ruth - Hope your DH likes his blanket when he gets it. It's really nice that you get pictures and videos of your grandchildren. I had a busy day so didn't do any crafting. It's supposed to rain all day Sunday, so I won't be going out and I hope I can finish the quilt top for the A Quilting Life BOM. Hope you both have a good weekend. Take care

Sorry, I didn't know It was so late. Last time I looked at the clock it was 8:30 which surprised me and now it's over an hour later. I did some housework then settled in to crochet and watched people making knives and I'm still doing the same thing. Right after I posted here yesterda I went to check my email and found that 3 of my Indiana grandchildren had emailed me. Two of them put in orders ( ) They each requested hats and sent pictures. DGD also requested a project for her baby sister which consists of two lambs hanging from the handle of a car seat. You crochet the lambs and also the ring that goes around the car seat handle and the chain that connects the lambs to that ring. The picture mentioned a youtube crochet channel but I couldn't find this project on there so I spent some time looking for lamb patters of the appropriate size. The rest I don't need a pattern or tutorial for. CJ, I'll be happy for you when all this work you're doing is finally done. I think it's great that you can take Sunday to work on your quilting. Ginny, I hope you had a good day and were able to do whatever makes you the happiest. Sleep tight everyone

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today. We had another mild weather day here and I think tomorrow will be too. Ruth - That's so nice that your grandchildren want you to make things for them. The lambs for the car seat sounds like a cute project. I had things to do today and I had to go out so I haven't done any crafting but I'm looking forward to getting the borders made and put on the A Quilting Life quilt. I hope to get that done so at least one of the yearly BOM quilt along quilt tops will be finished. I'm hoping that I can get another one day - for the Sew With Me - quilt along, before the end of the year. Hope you were able to do some crafting. Take care

CJ, I'm sorry that you had things to do that caused you to have to go out. I know you don't like to do that and I imagine that on weekends it's even worse. I do hope you will be able to find time to complete those two quilts that you want to have done before the end of the year
It's close to 4pm and I did do a little crocheting earlier but then stopped to do a little cooking. I also kind of pruned some of my plants. I don't know if there's a time of year that that should be done but I did it now and still have a couple more plants to do. I also sorted some toys I had here in case children came over but now no children come here so I sorted which ones to take to dd's house for her grandchildren and which I want to take or send to the little ones in Indiana.I also repacked some things to donate and dh, aka packrat, gave me some things to add to the donation pile.. One is one of those converters they were giving out when all tv went to digital instead of analog. I doubt anyone has a use for it now but it's still in it's original package so I'll donate and they can toss it if they want too. The others are keyboards that also are still in original boxes and some not. They would work on anyone's computer that still has a desktop.Dh has a desk top but has a couple other keyboards.
For the rest of the evening I'll probably just crochet.
Ginny, I hope you're having a good day. You asked if my dh suspected that I'm making the blanket for him and no, he hasn't seen me working on it yet. He mostly always asks what I'm making so I work on this afghan upstairs when he's down here in the "winter quarters" watching tv or napping but time is getting a little short so I may have to bring it down here. Did you get to see your dd and grandchildren today? Do you have all your Christmas shopping done. I'm still trying to think of little things to get for dh but really don't even have a clue.
It was mild here the last couple days but today is cold but not too awfully cold
See you all later.

Good morning! It must have been something in the air too Ruth, as I also trimmed some plants and did some yard work yesterday.Glad you got some of that done, its a struggle knowing when to do those outdoor chores, but I think many plants are very forgiving. Were you able to do that before it became really cold? How adorable that your grandkids gave you wish lists of things that they want you to crochet for them. And I think the little lamb project for the car seat sounds so charming! Hope making those little legs and a short tail is not too challenging an endeavor.
CJ- press on!!! Sorry that you had to run out to do some errands- which I figure are more and more challenging as stores and businesses get more busy this time of year. Is the local donation center far from you? Sounds like you still have a few items to get rid of. Downsizing/decluttering seems like an endless job. With the charming rainy day ahead, I hope you can finish the Quilting life BOM today.
Friday was kind of nuts. I worked, and after that the normal practice for church music was moved to mid afternoon. But that allowed me to attend a beautiful light show with my gf- just a lovely evening out and we were able to walk around at night viewing pretty Christmas lights. Yesterday DD and her children (well the baby counts, right?) So that took a lot of time from my day, but I was very happy to see them. Dd had been sick for almost 2 weeks..it was really good to see them. So I had to smash my housework and some yard work into a short amount of time, and will regretfully have to try to get some more done today. It’s supposed to start raining mid day.
I do have plans to work on assembling Janes pillow today. Oh and yesterday I spent a bunch of time (after DD left) trying to get through to Walmart, I ordered another bottle of Best Press from them and they sent me the wrong thing, some sort of icicle spray for windows. Nothing like what I wanted. Thankfully Walmart refunded me for the best press and I can donate the ice crystal spray in my next box of donations.

After aa pretty quiet day, it’s raining pretty hard here…most of the day it drizzled.
I did FINALLY finish the pillow for Jane. OK all I have to do now is close the opening in the pillow where I put the stuffing, but that is only a few minutes of work. I am really happy about that…because now I can get back to the baby quilt which should have been done 6 weeks ago.
Sleep well…see you in the am
