Recovery saying: You don’t get over an addiction by stopping using. You recover by creating a new life where it is easier to not use. If you don’t create a new life, then all the factors that brought you to your addiction will catch up with you again.
Therefore: You don’t get over overeating by stopping eating (not healthy). You recover by creating a new way of eating where it is easier to not to overeat. If you don’t create a new relationship with food, then all the factors that brought you to overeating will catch up with you again.
How have you built a new relationship with food, so you don’t overeat?

One big thing I have done is keep my trigger food out of the house. I recognize how I feel inside when I eat a food that's going to be a trigger and stop buying it at the store. Things are easier when I don't have foods calling my name. Another thing I do is make sure I have enough of the right foods in the house, so I don't go hungry while staying on plan. I plan out my eating day so I know what I can eat and talk to myself a lot when I am tempted to overeat.

Changes that help me not overeat:
* having the scale on the counter * keeping temptations out of the house or out of sight * having red light foods outside the house in measured portions * making it a lifestyle rather than a diet * checking in with online friends
* checking in with my sister twice a day

I wish I could keep trigger foods outside the house. My SO buys them, though he shouldn't be eating them either. Plus, my dad lives with me and he needs to have cookies with his tea in the afternoon. He's 96 so unlikely to change at this point.
I try to avoid them. Read my cards. Use mindset and behavioral techniques to not start eating them. I'm doing better with this slowly.
I rarely overeat outside the house because I'm rarely outside eating when I'm tired.

I’m slowly changing into a lifestyle of better habits. I am exercising more and planning better food habits. Eating away from the house is still a challenge and trigger foods sneak in too but still making changes. All Becks habits are excellent, I just need consistency.

I make more healthy choices because of wanting to manage weight and GI issues force me to eat more whole foods than crap.
