Thanks for the start, Chele. Are the recipes in your new vegetarian cookbook ones you'll have to go Krogering for ingredients or do you have what the chef will need on hand? Have you picked out the first recipes you want to try? I hope your skies are clearer than ours are today. Linda, how are you feeling today? Did the migraine resolve? DMIL had about 350 cookbooks we donated to the local library book sale after she passed. I still have a book shelf filled with my own (so no room for hers here), but have pared down my collection over the years because I cook differently now than I used to. I probably need to go through my collection again and donate some I haven't used in years. You'll enjoy that Mary Berry book. Cricket powder? I didn't even know that was a thing. I do eat hemp seeds and they are really good, but I'm not sure that your diverticulosis would approve. The 30-minute recipes might be good, as long as they call for "normal" ingredients and not things you wouldn't normally have on hand. What do you think of "the New Who", Kathy, or have you not had a chance to watch Special 4 yet? He seems like a fun guy and (so far anyway), and I really like him. I'm also anxious to hear what you think about his new assistant. She reminds me a lot of Rose Tyler, and I'm not just talking the blond hair. Did you get any cool tech gifts? Did you get some rain? We had a good bit of rain this morning with thunder and have a bit of fog now. At least it's not snow, but they are saying we may get some of that toward the end of next week. I hope everyone is pleased with what Santa brought. I'm loving being able to use the compression device right after a workout. Really seems to take care of sore muscles. Arya is not pleased with one of her gifts though. For her entire life, she has been eating out of stainless bowls recycled from previous pups. So I decided she needed new bowls of her own and found some I liked. She, however, does not seem to like them and refused to eat breakfast until I put it in one of the old bowls that slide around on her placemat because the silicone bases are either worn out or totally missing. I guess the new bowls will end up being donated to the animal shelter (where dogs aren't as picky as long as they get fed) if she doesn't warm up to them in the short term. I even sat the old dish on top of the new one and she still wouldn't go near it. As far as she's come in her 6 years with us, she still has issues...sigh.... Has anyone else noticed an uptick in the number of weight loss ads? I guess it's that time of year.

Karen, I found one recipe with cannellini beans and savoy cabbage. I’ll need to pick up the cabbage. I don’t have the book in front of me right now, so I can’t give you the title. I will later. We have had clouds and misty rain. I’m glad you like your compression device. Poor Arya. There are just somethings she won’t adjust to, I guess.
Linda, I was going to suggest you contact a store for delivery. Our Kroger and Dorothy Lane Market will provide a fully cooked meal. All you have to do is heat it up. How is the headache today? Are you both feeling more energetic?
Kathy, we are in the Die Hard is a Christmas movie camp. I hope you had a good Christmas Day with the family and you liked your presents.
Iggy and I both liked are presents this year. He told his sister he must have been a very good boy, because he got lots of nice gifts. Some people have a shoe addiction. I like expensive handbags. Every few years Iggy will gift me a new one. This was one of those years. I am a happy handbag addict. It’s a smallish satchel with a removable cross body strap. It’s lovely. 🥰 And yes I used it today.

Headache gone, got some energy and cleaned up my kitchen plant area. We are eating next to it for dinner in the kitchen nook.
glad that compression thing works!
Minni, the stubborn one, wants eat off paper plate or better, paper towel. Micki before her. You have to be fast to prevent shredding.actually she wants it inbthe floor. Argh. I guess they do not like the beard into much food? Only kibble is allowed in a shallow cat dish!
the roast beast was good.

Karen, I watched the New Who last night and really liked the new Doctor and companion. There are a lot of similarities to her and Rose. Very curious that there are no DNA matches to her at all and then there was the mysterious older woman who seemed to know who the Doctor was and knew about the Tardis. I guess we'll have to wait until spring before we find out anything. On the DNA matches, that would be highly unusual for someone not to at least match up with some distant cousins. I have over 29k matches on Ancestry! Makes me wonder where or when she came from.
We've been getting some drizzle, but not really much rain so far. My surprise tech gadget is a new Garmin watch. I wasn't expecting that, so it was a nice surprise. I went through the set up today, but I'm still figuring out some of the features. I'm glad you're happy with your gifts and that the compression device works for you. Hopefully, Arya will give her nice new bowls a second chance. It's too bad that she still gets upset with any changes, but she must have been through a lot.
Linda, cricket powder sounds like something that would go into a witch's potion! I kept several cookbooks from my dad's collection since my mom didn't want them. They are nice to have even if I don't use them very often. We've gotten the Publix Thanksgiving meal a couple of times when there were circumstances where we didn't want to cook. I sometimes wonder why we don't always do that for the turkey and just add some sides because I'm not sure I could tell the difference on the turkey. Glad the headache is gone.
Chele, we had a very nice day and I'm definitely happy with my presents. Glad you and Iggy are happy with yours too. Congrats on the new handbag. One of my friends has that addiction and she indulges herself in a new one every once in a while. They are really nice. Our trash pickup is coming a day late this week due to the holiday, so I put the bins out tonight. There was a beautiful moon coming up in between the clouds.
