.on another thread someone said āam guilty of having an imaginary self -- the one who is going to sew the blazer, or learn to crochet. When I declutter, I have to remind myself repeatedly to only keep what is useful to me in this season of my life.ā
interesting way to think of it. Don't know about Decluttering the make up drawer, but I need to finish putting away outdoor lights before the rain comes and get ready for cleaning lady tomorrow.
Dsil is really sick with COVID. She worried about no snowblower (finally croaked a few weeks ago, but never getting snow) and totally missed her DH buying one yesterday. They have big storms and cold predicted all Jan.
all these years with extreme summer and very warm spring and fall have changed how I deal with heat. I could not do upstate any winter any moreā¦a lot like that, Stay warm.

Karen, how was class today? Did you bet rid of the sniffles?Iād say Iām happy about Michiganās success, but I am not a gracious loser.
Kathy, those portions must have been gargantuan to get 4 meals out of them. I was saying never again after I got through at Walmart. Iāll try online next time.
Linda, hospitalization for flu,Covid and RSV are on the rise here too. Iāve seen more masks at the stores. Self checkout seems like a good idea at this point since all the stores here took down the shields. I hope your DSIL recovers quickly from Covid. We probably wonāt need the snow blower this year, but one never knows.
We have seen the golden orb today and it is beautiful. We havenāt had much precipitation this winter but it has been its usual cloudy self.
I made a recipe from the new veggie cookbook. It was artichoke, shallot, fingerling ragout. I made some adjustments to the seasoning and amount of liquid and it turned out great. Iggy says itās a keeper.
When I went to the basement to work out, Iggy decided to come with me and get on the treadmill. He wanted someone there with him ājust in case.ā He hasnāt been working out so he started slowly. I guess have a workout partner now.

Chele, that's amazing that your Walmart had 2 cashiers working. Both of ours just have an employee at the self-checks who tries to be of as little help as possible. And it's also trashier than in the past. I've managed to find workarounds for most of the things I can only seem to get there, so I average a trip every couple of years. YUM on the teriyaki bowls! What a great way to enjoy that leftover salmon. I think Christmas being on a Monday is leading people to take down decorations earlier than usual. I think Kathy and I will be neck-and-neck for whose come down last. I'll bet the gumbo was phenomenal! I'm making minestrone for dinner. Thanks for supporting The Blue. I would be the same way if it was the Buckeyes. Watching Washington play Texas the other evening, I'm not in the mood to welcome them to the Big Ten next season. We've seen nothing but clouds today, so enjoy the golden orb for me. The ragout sounds tasty, and it must have been if it was Iggy approved. Yay on having a workout partner. Hopefully it will be a permanent thing. Class kicked butt today. I managed not to cough or sneeze at all. Sniffles remain but I'm determined to keep moving. Some of us were laughing about how crowded the parking lot was today "for about the next month". We did have a few new faces, but mostly the same ones. I wish I could go more than once a week, but that's not in the cards right now.
Yay on 4 meals from the Italian place, Kathy. You definitely got your money's worth and WOW on the size of that salad. I never saw a list of who Norvell got through the portal. Seven players doesn't sound like that many. As usual, the media hype was more than actual. Your Walmart sounds like ours. Fortunately, this time of year there aren't as many tourists, but I still saw a lot of out-of-state tags on the roads today. It's amazing how many of them were from FL, with LA coming in second. I'll bet they aren't enjoying this cold weather.
Linda, I think Covid numbers are up everywhere. Liz said between that, the flu, and RSV (both kids and adults), they are slammed right now. A lot of places here never took down the plexiglass, which I'm sure the cashiers appreciate right now. Definitely an interesting way to think about "imaginary self" concept. Sorry about DSIL, especially with the weather they have coming. Did she get the latest booster (which I have heard isn't that effective)? I know what you mean about dealing with the cold. I remember when we moved from TX to NC we about froze to death the first 3 years and that's still in the south. No way I could comfortably spend a winter where you came from.
The saga of the Staples package continues. I got a notice on Friday evening to expect delivery on Tuesday, which was unacceptable. I managed to get it canceled on Monday and the refund hit my credit card yesterday. So, of course, the package got delivered late yesterday afternoon. I dropped it at my local Staples store, since I had planned to be at Aldi today anyway and it's across the highway. I hope that will be the end of it. Lesson learned: if it's not in their store, I'll get it somewhere else. I also did most of the grocery shopping. Aldi had no mushrooms or fresh pineapple, so I'll have to stop for those somewhere tomorrow. It hasn't warmed up much here. It's only gotten to 41Ā° But it started out at 22Ā°, so I guess that's some progress.

Our Italian place has huge portions of pasta! Three to four servings each!
I stay away from Walmart. Just sitting in the parking lot last Oct while dsil2 went to get a bigger backpack was weird enough for me.
So yesterday dsil drama queen was at death's doorstep and today says she is fineā¦ā¦and has never heard of pax med. might as well talk to a wall anyway.
got the American goulash. Made for supper, rest of outdoor lights down before rain tonight (just little light up tree under roof by door left), containers neatly stacked and labelled for once, laundry done, and put away, and am now putting away last of indoor deco except the tree. Phew. Then I better walk her Royal stubbornness before rain.

Chele, I'm obviously not a gracious loser either, so I feel your "support" for Michigan. I was happy to see the one loss teams lose and I'm rooting for Washington to take it all. The pasta entrees were huge. I'm having the last of it tonight with a big side of veggies. Hope Iggy keeps up with the workouts. I started the latest series of Yoga with Adriene yesterday and could tell I haven't been doing enough of that lately. Karen, I couldn't really find a total number of players from the portal, so the 7 were the ones they featured in that segment during a game. I think it got a lot of publicity because Norvell had success with filling in some key players. The ones that opted for the NFL should go high in the draft, so I can't blame them. It would have made a better story if the entire team had stayed for the bowl game, but I can understand why they didn't. My nephew went up to the Asheville area for a few days before returning to work. We love the cold weather when we go up there, especially if we get to see some snow! Then it's nice to come home to warmer weather. I hope you're done with the Staples fiasco. What a pain! Linda, glad your dsil is doing better, but amazing that she never heard of the pax medicine.

As I said, selective hearing, short attention to things not about her, and foggy sometimes from meds for bad Trigeminal Neuralga.
Wonder how long you will have a work out buddy,Karen. We are all reaching that point of needing watching sometimes.
Little engine that could day. Did dog walk two, then Bonked my temple on a branch of shrub by the garbage bin (ouch)and as soon as I put away that extension cord and lights, I attacked it with a saw. Then swept 20 feet of sidewalk on the west side covered with leaves and little branches of berries (not dog friendly) so it was a big pile for the yard guys Friday. Otherwise tonight's rain makes them stick and not blow well. Did same on paver area other side of yard with fallen pomegranates attacked by birds. Dog demanded a yard fetch session. Then picked up stuff and cleared out the fridge before garbage pick up and cleaning lady. Finished putting away Xmas decor. We will have a bowl of American goulash while watching Shetland.
