Thanks for the start, Chele. Do you have anything special on the agenda today? Will the big storm affect you? I think we'll have a little rain but not much more. Are you enjoying some of your bounty from Jungle Jim's?
Linda, good job getting the new harness fitted correctly. Have you walked her in it yet? Sounds like that would have been a good idea with the chihuahua. I guess she's grown out of the chicken phase (which Arya has not and probably never will). Hopefully after she goes to puppy kindergarten, she'll be the way you need her to be. Have you found a class yet? WOW on having to cover your plants, or was that for the workers and not cold weather? The gym should clear out in about a month.
Has your weather forecast for the weekend changed, Kathy? Dale could actually finish his race tomorrow with just cloudiness and no rain. But he'll have at least some rain to start. The TN mountains don't even seem to be expecting much. Looks like Liz will be getting some snow. Did DN get back from Asheville? They could be getting some ice. Have you undecorated yet? I may do some of that this afternoon.
The sniffles have now turned into a cold. It's been years since I had one and I'm not sure where I would have been exposed. I do have some things to be done today, but otherwise I am laying low, forcing fluids, OD'ing on Zinc and Vitamin C, and upping the appropriate herbs. Lots of sneezing, so maybe it's trying to exit my system. I have sweet potatoes baked, jasmine rice cooked for Dale and me, and Elvis is finishing up a pot of savory oats. I have a load of laundry to do and a loaf of sourdough to proof. I did manage to get through a little more than 45 minutes of a workout (did cut it about 15 minutes short), so I have managed not to be a total slug. I hope everyone enjoys their first weekend of 2024.

Karen, Izzyâs is a 120 year old deli that started in Cincinnati. Itâs the best reuben outside of NYC. Back in the 80s there was an Izzyâs in downtown Dayton. Thatâs where we first heard of it. Nothing special scheduled today or tomorrow. The only thing so far we have sampled are the Florida pomelo for me and a persimmon for Iggy. I think this is the best pomelo I have ever had. Iggy canât eat it because of his medications. Iâm sorry to hear you have a cold. This is the year for it. I hope it exits quickly. BILâs has been lingering but his immune system is probably compromised from his strokes. It doesnât seemed to have slowed you down much. I hope Daleâs run went well. You are doing so well at Osteo. If any machine needs to be busy, it should be the one you like the least.
Linda, I always found putting a harness on very challenging. Now that you know that Minni will accept the neighbor dog challenges, youâll be better prepared. It must be chilly if youâre covering pots.
Kathy, as you pull into the parking lot of Jungle Jimâs the speakers are playing animal noises. We always park at the giraffe entrance. đŚ I hope you donât get too much rain.
We are expecting some snow tomorrow and Sunday but shouldnât be more than inch of accumulation. Weâre charging the electric shovel. GF and I have rescheduled our lunch for Sunday. That might guarantee a blizzard.
Jungle Jimâs is huge and we always get lost, so we got in a lot of steps yesterday. Today we both headed to the basement gym. I wasnât feeling too motivated but I carried on for Iggy, so this partner thing might just workout. đď¸

Karen, they're still saying heavy rain on Saturday morning and I think they mentioned that there was a 5K race somewhere downtown. They might get wet. I hope Dale has good weather for his race. I would guess DN is coming back this weekend, but I haven't heard. I've put some stuff away, but I'll probably leave the tree up for a while like I usually do. Sorry about the cold and hope it doesn't last long. How do you tell the difference between cold and Covid symptoms? They seem pretty similar anymore.
The Garmin has a steeper learning curve than the FitBit, at least to me. I did change the watch face right away, but just to one of the basic options. It seems strange to me that I have to have two apps on my phone. It took me forever to figure out how to set an activity. Nowhere in the manual does it say that you have to hit the top button a second time to start the activity and I was trying everything but that! I still have no idea what the various numbers it's showing me mean and they aren't explained anywhere in the manual. There is a quick definition, but no info on what is good vs. bad on things like body battery or stress. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. I found some YouTube videos with tutorials, so will give those a try.
Chele, I had never heard of a pomelo and had to look it up. I don't care for grapefruit at least not by itself because it's so tart, so it sounds like something I might like. I don't think I've seen them in the stores though. I also had to look up electric snow shovels. I'm learning all kinds of things today! Lol on Jungle Jimâs and the animal noises. You and your GF do seem to have a jinx on your lunches. Hope you don't get a blizzard!

Only way to tell difference is COVID test. Hope whatever it is gets better fast, but you know what they say, a week coming , a week going for colds , and there are a lot plus other crud going around.
current obedience classes too far away.
I wore a mask in Safeway briefly today and used the sanitizer on the cart. Mask helped with air pollution, feral old and juniper pollution. Allergies quite unhappy.
