Steph,I hope you can get some relief from the cedar and hope Autumn feels better soon.
Dinner was pork chops on the Geo Foreman.I made a salad to go with mine and had a Yoplait 100 Greek protein yogurt with 100 cal pack dry roasted almonds. They are so thick that they will prob last longer than 2 nights.

Hi all..thanks, it was not as bad as I anticipated. I wrote a list of the larger things that need to be taken care/decided upon, and there were not many. Bean and I went room to room, closet to closet and cleaned out remaining items. I did find more pictures in dad's closet to ship home. We boxed up donations, loaded up the trash dumpster...all told about 2 1/2 hours work. Made a trip to Salvation Army and then some shopping & Chinese for dinner.
CELESTE well that sounds like good news to me. Keep us posted.
LOUISE thanks for the link.
I scored at Sears with Land's End packable jacket (my favorite) and a new down vest for $45. I've been watching for them to go on sale, and they were 60% off +20% coupon. That works.
Bean works tomorrow most of tge day, so my plan is to work out and visit all day. Saturday is our family get together that has just come together, and it looks like all 7 of the sibs will make it, plus nieces/nephews, cousins, neighbors, aunts, etc. Whom ever can make it.

THANKS LOUISE. I'm going to check it out.
BTW did a moving van show up yet?
STEPH I'm w/ your DD. MUCUS is a yucky sounding word. But I think phlegm is even UGLIER. I've got PHLEGM in my throat. Just reading the word makes me want to clear my throat.
SANDY that's so funny. One time my kids, ex and I were on a road trip to the horse country of Virginia. Gorgeous area, but she got traveler's stomach so ex and my son went out and did stuff and I stayed back at the B&B w/ Meridith. But I asked Charles to go and pick up some cheese, some turkey and some Hawaiian rolls!!!! That's all we had to eat for the entire day b/c out in the country there were no deliveries and the guys had the car. So basically it was what we had for bkfast, lunch and snacks along w/ cokes. I have to tell you, Meridith and I both STILL talk about what a DELISH meal(S) that was.
BECKY I'm making pork tomorrow. I'm going to make tenderloin and some plums in the oven. Kind of "sugared" plums w/ rosemary. EXCEPT dang it I couldn't find plums so it will be sugared nectarines.
SUZE how nice. That sounds like quite the NYEve get together. You'll all have a lot of fun and I'm AMAZED as well as glad, that you didn't have as much "clean out" as it could have been.
I'm annoyed b/c for whatever reason, I'm having one of those visual field migraines. I find it very difficult to read, type, watch TV b/c about 30% of my field of vision just isn't there. I can't explain it. Not a black spot or a white spot. It would be as if my field of vision was a big sheet w/ a hole in it and them someone has sewn up the hole. So whatever WAS in the hole just doesn't seem to exist. Like Bob only has 1 eye and ear and part of a nose/. Though i have to say, as one who used to suffer from migraine headaches, I'll take this any day of the week. Annoying, not painful, and gone in about 20 to 30 minutes. I think I've had too much caffiene maybe as I had coffee this AM, lots of iced tea at lunch and more iced tea at dinner.
DINNER: We went out and I had veggies and salmon, and tea and a bowl of veggie soup. I'm determined to get more fiber in my diet.
Good night all. Too hard to read and type. Check ya in the AM.

Well, Autumn only lasted 30 min at practice. Just enough time for me to get in & pick up some things at HEB & get back to pick her up. Fever kicked in again too. Had my gyn appt this morning. Dr was supposed to send in a prescription & never did. Will have to call tomorrow. He did send me to get hormones tested just to have starting place. Will see if I stay on the lower dose or if he'll increase.
Louise, thanks for the website.
Suze, enjoy your family time. Glad y'all were able to get through the house.
Celeste, hope you feel better in the morning.
Highest reading in 20 yrs in Austin for cedar...just in on the 9:00 o'clock news.
Night all.

Suze,I'm glad you found things better than anticipated. It's good you were able to shop and eat dinner out.You can always find the best deals.I need to use my Sears card by tomorrow but I have lost it in the house somewhere.I'm going to Curves today but I'm not spending the day.LOL.Enjoy your day with Bean and the get together tomorrow.
Celeste,I hope you feel better soon and keep us posted about Petey's good news.I wanted to do a pork tenderloin in the crock pot but HEB was out the other day so I settled for pork chops.I'm glad the ham is gone b/c of the sodium.I was able to flush it out with water for today's home WI though.I hope your head is better today.I hear you on the caffeine.I have already had 2 cups of hot tea but have started on water now.I will more than likely have ice tea for lunch and dinner also but that will be all my caffeine.Last night I had a Swiss Miss diet hot chocolate and even though I added some unsweetened cashew milk and vanilla to it I still prefer my caffeinated hot tea.I need to get some decaff hot tea for evenings I guess. What kind of veggies do you eat that have more fiber?
Steph,I hope the cedar is better for you today. The wind is not as high so they are hoping it will be a little lower.Did you find out if Autumn had strep or is it a virus?I'm glad you are getting your hormones tested to see if you stay on the lower dose.Do you think it's helping you?I hate waiting for a DR to call in a RX and then they don't do it.I hope you get it today.
I will go to Curves this morning and we are thinking about eating lunch in Taylor for an early NYE lunch. We don't go anywhere for NYE anymore.I think I will still make the taco salad tomorrow night.
Have a good day everyone!

I looked at that site last night and it's really good.
Tonight is the annual cousins cookie baking night. Wonder if I will be offered any.
No big moving van yet.

Not sure where my post went.
No moving van yet. With teenagers there will be a lot more action in the neighborhood.
I did look at that website and it's really good.

Good morning all!
Louise....that web site does look good....lots of info....I plan to take some time to read, plan, & be ready to get started by next Tuesday when I go back to you-know-where. Has the moving van made it yet ? Do you know where the new family came from?
Becky....enjoy lunch out!
Steph...how is Autumn today? What a crummy break for her.
Celeste...the report you gave yesterday on Petey sounded pretty good! Let us know what you find out today. He will probably be ready for a snooze after his trip to the vet.
Bbl...

Up and out the door early this morning. Autumn made it through practice, but she said she had to stop 3 times for coughing. Strep test came back negative for both rapid & overnight. It's just a virus, but it has kicked her little butt. She's had to cancel 2 dates with friends, but as of now can keep the one for tomorrow.
My Dr called me this morning (after I spoke with the nurse). Said his computer glitched out yesterday & lost a few notes. He called in the meds & ran by to pick them up. Call me one big steroid queen. I started 2016 on antibiotics, so seems fitting to end it this way.

LOL @ STEPH the steroid Queen. You can have that title for SURE. None of the rest of us want it.
LOUISE I hope they're "good' kids. If so they can probably help you and maybe you can "hire" them from time to time now that your DGD's have jobs etc. Here's hoping.
I checked out that site and some good recipes, most of which are not Paleo but should be easily adaptable (except where they use cheese. There is NO good Paleo sub for cheese dang it).
ANGIE Where are you now? Home? At one of the kids and DGK's house? On a cruise? A safari?
So just back from the vet. Sutures out and w/o them the incision looks quite good and the vet is pleased. We went over the lab reports. It's got a very low "mitotic" rate (stage 1 out of 5), so it's very unlikely to spread to organs (already knew that since it's the same as his 2 previous tumors). He's still very surprised that the cancer reared its ugly head over 2 years post radiation but soft tissue sarcomas are pesky like that. Anyway, as far as the pathology can tell, the margins are clear but there are areas where the cancer was w/in .1 mm of the edge. At this, nothing to do at this point but wait and see. No radiation at this point. No chemo (and he did find out that chemo isn't all that effective for this kind of tumor anyway). He's optimistic and in all a very good report.

Celeste- that all sounds good for Petey.
I did briefly meet my neighbors. The sister's dog had gotten loose and I was going to help try to catch him. By the time I got shoes on, they had gotten him. They seem to be real nice. It's the daughter, age 10 that's the golfer. I think they are doing the moving themselves. Both sets of parents are here helping.

Steph....you will be the energizer bunny now that you are on the steroids...look out! Sounds like Autumn is on the mend.
Celeste....HOME! Spent the last 2 days with in laws....nice time & caught up with the 3 nephews/ spouses & all of their kids at the basketball games last night. We drove home afterwards....in our own bed by 12:30. Gave us the extra day here to regroup & RELAX (I hope). Great report for Petey! You have to be pleased! Give that boy a hug from me!
Louise....if they are dog people, they will be OK as neighbors π
Suze....glad to hear things at the house were manageable. Sounds like a good time brewing for your get together tomorrow ....enjoy!
It is our year to host NYE. We have gotten together with this couple every year since we have been married.... 40 yrs of ringing in the New Years! Amazing! He is the one who has gone thru treatment twice now for alcoholism, so that does put a different spin on things. out of courtesy for him, it will be a dry evening. He doesn't expect it, but just seems like the right thing to do. DH & I can have a glass of wine before they come or after they go if we want.
Meanwhile....my house is a disaster....wrapped presents up until the time we left to go to DGKs ....so I need to get all of the put away before I actually start cleaning house. Better get back to it....

Well LOUISE, dog lovers and close knit family who's helping them move... sounds pretty good.
ANGIE mostly I would be of the view if I'm giving a party, I'd serve liquor for instance, when I invited Mormon friends. I figure I don't expect wine when I go to their house and they don't have to partake. HOWEVER considering your friends grasp on sobriety may be a bit tenuous, I agree that it would probably be best NOT to. As you said, you can have something before they get there if you want. Or after they leave.
Speaking of DRINKING, a couple up the street want us all to go to dinner tonight so I'm thinking of this place called Mash'd as in the mash they use to make moonshine. They have some very interesting drinks using 'Shine. Oh... and they have food too. LOL
