Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy MLK Day! We have no school today due to the national holiday. I also took tomorrow off as a sick day. DH has a Cardiology appointment in the morning and we have decided that two pair of ears is better for hearing and remembering everything he says, so I will be going with him. While I was at school the other day our principal stopped me to tell me that I need to have my background check and fingerprinting redone. Seems it's been five year, and though I can't imagine what has changed in that time, they want to redo it, so she made me an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. That pretty well breaks up tomorrow with Cardiology in the morning and fingerprinting in the afternoon.
We are still stuck in the deep freeze! Temps today will be around zero and below. My Fitness Buddy is picking me up to go to lunch in a little bit, then we'll do a bit of shopping perhaps. At least the sun is shining and there is very little wind. I just looked and the "real feel" temp is -17dg!!
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi friends,
I hope everyone has a nice, peaceful day off today with the MLK holiday. I am enjoying a free day for sure.
Pam, great for you to get that long walk in with your buddy and it's great that your DH is helping your DGD with her 4H achievement. I envy how close you live to your DGKs. I miss mine. Thank goodness for Facetime. Hope your wrist is getting better and better.
Sue, have a fun lunch with your fitness buddy and shopping trip. Sounds like a very fun day. Glad you took the day off tomorrow to go to the cardiologist with your DH. I agree that having another person along helps a lot to remember details.
We went out for dinner last night to a new place that people have been raving about, but to us, it was just ...meh... It's a pub style place and I had a chicken pot pie. I ate about a third of it since it was big. The chicken was good but it seemed very "glue-y" for lack of a better word and didn't do it for me. DH had a piece of baked haddock that he thought was just okay. So, we won't be rushing back, but I am glad we tried it. We have our favorite places and will stick to them. We watched Oppenheimer on Amazon yesterday. Great movie but a long one.
Last night DD and the kids and I talked for over an hour on Facetime. Sometimes it is nice to just "hang out" with them on facetime and get in on conversations and share some videos or jokes, etc. DGD is a good little artist and involved in a project at her school where they have a "shop". Students are selling their wares with marketing help from teachers. She has a "pet portrait" shop and was asking us for advice on boosting her sales. Ha ha. She can draw any dogs, cats, hamsters etc very well for a 9 year old! Drawing and painting are her favorite things to do and it is almost like she cannot help herself but to draw all the time. She's driven to it and has a keen eye for details.
Our DS is up in Nova Scotia for a long weekend. THey flew up so it was DGS's first flight which he loved. His baby brother slept through it. DS went out on the lobster boats with relatives there and remarked that it is a very dangerous job with very high surf, etc. They are having fun.
My day will be fairly restful today. I am reading Remarkably Bright Creatures now. Loving it so far.
Have a great day and waving to all our cafe friends!! TTFN
