Hi friends,
We woke to a winter wonderland! We have about 2 inches of snow and it looks pretty. But, the forecast is for rain today so I suspect it'll be gone by dinnertime.
Back to work for me - nothing too exciting but good to have my routine. I have realized that I need some structure sometimes. I will have to remember that when I retire. I like to have something to do each day. I remember my mom used to call me an "itch" sometimes when I was young! Guess mothers know best. Ha ha.
Dinner was chicken, broccoli and baby potatoes and breakfast today was yogurt with raspberries.
Have a great day and I'll check in soon.

Happy Tuesday, WW Friends ~
We are still in the deep freeze (current temp is 10). At least it is PLUS 10 and not MINUS 10!!
Our schools are closed today. i went with DH to his cardiologist's office this morning. He is doing very well. There is one test the Dr. wants done, so we scheduled it while we were there. Also his next visit isn't for a year. That was also good news. We both really like our cardiologist and have known him for YEARS! So every appointment is a visit in itself. In fact, DH's mechanical valve is going to turn 30 this July, so we've had our Dr. that long too.
Then we went to the office where I had my background check and fingerprinting done. The gals couldn't have been nicer or kinder! Since we went to lunch right from the cardiologist (we had skipped breakfast because we went early) we ate an early lunch at Kerby's Coney Island. It was delightful! Then we arrived at the office early, but the gals came back from lunch early and called me right in and got me done and over with. I am back home now.
I just received the call that our schools are closed again tomorrow due to extreme cold. I don't mind at all being at home! I have plenty of leftovers in the fridge, so I can put together something for supper.
BBL. Make a great day!

Sue, we are also home for a few days. We didn’t get much snow here but I heard roads are terrible near campus. Weather advisory for ice and that’s all I needed to hear. Glad you had a good dr. Appt for your DH and good yiu got your fingerprinting etc out of the way.
We had a scary incident with a neighborhood big dog today. The family is very nice and well known in the community but they don’t control their dog who is a menace. He has tried to attack us twice before while we were walking and attacked my son with his German Shepherd when they visited. He is scary. Well, today was the last straw. My DH was in our own backyard with Daisy when he came charging over attacking them. DH had to try to kick him away several times and he still threatened. Their daughter was just standing there. DH lost his temper and yelled at her to control her dog asking her what is wrong with her to continually do this? We called the dog officer. I’m afraid if it had been me, it might have been much worse. He mainly goes after other dogs not people. He would have really hurt Daisy. I don’t know what breed he is but he’s big, black and supposedly a labradoodle but he doesn’t seem like any Labradoodle I ve seen.

Hello friends!
Your Yankee winter is in my yard, can you come and get it? 😂 We had sleet/freezing rain last night. I saw video from a few miles north of us, but couldn’t tell what fell here as we lost power and with no street lights, I couldn’t tell. We also lost cable and wifi. I was very grateful for our Generac because we at least had heat when so many were left in the cold. I talked with Dee this morning and her electricity and heat were still off in BTR. She was planning to go either to DSIS house or to her DSIS’. Temps are going down into the teens tonight.
As is usual here, schools, roads, bridges, I-10 and many businesses and state offices are closed. We’re just not prepared to deal with icy roads and no one knows how to drive in it. There were numerous wrecks and multi-vehicle pileups last night and this morning.
I woke in the middle of the night with my arm/ wrist aching terribly. I tried changing positions several times, to no avail. I finally got up and took advil and eventually went back to sleep. Otherwise, OT has been going well and I am hoping to be released from the plastic splint when I see the doctor next week.
Judy - You know what I think about aggressive, uncontrolled dogs. Your DH was correct to call animal control. Suppose that dog attacks a child? My elderly neighbor was seriously injured trying to protect his Brittany spaniel from an aggressive dog. And both required medical care.
Sue - I know the comfort of having a trusted, longtime physician. I am dreading the day ours finally retires. He has been our PCP since 1980.
DH is making Spanish rice and something Mexican with tortillas, beans, meat and cheese. Last night he made Italian stuffed zucchini. I am so thankful he loves to cook! Stay warm!
