Judy ~ I am also a creature of habit and seem to need my routines. I'm not opposed to altering them, but I don't like to be without them completely! So sorry about your scare with the big dog! I am so grateful to not have to deal with that. We've done it in the past and enough is enough.
Pam ~ Thanks for the good laugh!! I read the opening of your post to my DH about coming and getting our winter out of your yard and we both just howled!
We are inundated with phone calls this morning, almost all bad news and only some weather related. My DBIL is in the hospital. HE had told me last weekend his heart rate was 120+ and I suggested he see his doctor. He apparently checked himself into the hospital yesterday. Of course, his hospital is miles away from us, but we'll need to go see him. DH has a co-worker who is in the hospital with heart related problems. HE is single and has no one to advocate for him, so we're worried about him too.
Meanwhile, back on the ranch, DH's truck has decided to not start. It is parked outside (in the cold) because my car is taking up the garage. He couldn't start it this morning, but did hook it up to the portable battery charger and we're waiting to see if it does the trick. Otherwise we'll have to call road service and see how long the wait is?? I'm just glad we don't have to be anywhere this morning (like yesterday).
Everyone take care and stay warm and safe!!

Hi Sue, Thanks so much for opening up the cafe on this frigid morning. It is only in the high 20s here now. I, too, laughed hard at Pam's request that we come and get winter out of her yard. ha ha. We noted last night that it was colder in Dallas than Boston. We have a bright sunny day but it is chilly. I opted to WFH today and avoid any chance of icy roads. I get more done at home at any rate, and good thing I was here. My boss is traveling in NYC and needed info early today.
Sue, you sure are off to a rough start today with news of your DBIL and friend in the hospital with heart issues. You and your DH are such caring people and always helping others. Hope it is not too far to drive and that roads are okay. Also, hope your DH's truck started. Keep us posted.
DH and I had salads for lunch and I started the day off with a bowl of cereal. Dinner is going to be pasta with meat sauce - trying to be portion minded!
I need to get out to get a birthday card for our DS who has a birthday next week. Time flies. He will be 35! I can't believe it - my baby...ha ha.
Sue, I am with you. I need my routines and they seem to settle my mind. THere is comfort to me in having something to do each day. Like you, I can pivot and change, but feel more anchored with routine.
I hope you all have a great day and I'll check in later on. TTFN! Oh, highly recommend the book I am reading - Remarkably Bright Creatures. I can hardly put it down.
