Expecting snow overnight and into the morning commute (1-3 inches), so I went to Kroger this morning. It wasn’t too busy, more Instacart people than customers. Their big carts really get in the way.
I got my Fitbit last night so I’ve been playing with that. I don’t think a charge is goong to last 10 days but we’ll see.
Karen, did you make it to Osteo?
Linda, did Minni let you go back to bed?
Kathy, good luck with the yoga. I do better with exercise ball yoga these days.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Aren't you glad you don't have to worry about the morning commute any more? Great that Kroger wasn't crazy. I know what you mean about Instacart. I hate shopping when any of them are there. Kroger here does that more than any place else, which is another reason why I don't go there very often. Congrats on the arrival of the Fitbit. I hope it will surprise you on the length of your charge and that it works well for you. How are things going with you and your exercise buddy? Does he wear a tracking device? I did make it to Osteo, but went this afternoon instead of my usual late morning appointment. We got a UPS delivery late yesterday afternoon and he said he had no problems, so I thought going a bit later would give more time for a warm up. There were still a few really bad patches on the secondary roads but those pretty much melted by the time I was coming home. Knox County got A LOT more snow than we did and they didn't get any of the freezing rain that we got sandwiched in between our snow events. Most places there got 10 to 12" to our 2.5". The parking lots hadn't been treated or plowed for the most part, so I had to be extremely careful any time I wasn't in the car. The entire time I was thinking, "this isn't a good place for someone with osteoporosis". I did wear my better pair of Merrells instead of sneakers and did manage to stay upright.
Kathy, did you see the FB meme that said, "Coach Saban Retired and the Whole State of Alabama Froze Over!!"? Have you seen the Green Giant Riced Rainbow Cauliflower at your Publix? Cauliflower is my 2nd least favorite veggie (red beets top that list), but it looked interesting so I bought some a couple of weeks. It doesn't have much taste but I get credit for 4 different veggies, 1 for each color of cauliflower in the mix. So I stocked up today and had some for dinner. They also had my Silk organic soy milk on BOGO, so I stocked up on that as well. Are your temps up or down right now? The Lady Vols are playing Mississippi State and it snowed in Starkville. I doubt you'll get snow, but are you going to get the colder temps that they are also experiencing? I just saw that the final season of The Handmaid's Tale doesn't start until September 14th. Talk about a long wait.
Did you have a quiet day, Linda, and get a little extra shut-eye this morning? Please send us some warm weather our way. We are going back into the deep freeze this weekend.
I did the grocery shopping (Publix and Aldi) before Osteo and I was surprised that neither store was all that crowded and things seemed to be reasonably well stocked. But then I didn't go down the bread or TP aisle and didn't pay attention to the supply of cow's milk when I picked up my soy milk. We were running out of veggies and my greens supply was close to depleted, so I was glad to be able to get out to get us restocked before the next system comes through starting this evening and we might get iced in for a couple more days.

Chele, have fun with the FitBit. That's good you were able to get to the store before the snow and even better that you don't have to go out tomorrow. We had a lot of rain today and it was kind of muggy. Colder temps are coming, but nothing like yours. Interesting on the big carts for Instacart. The shoppers have sent me pictures sometimes where the cart was in the picture and it just looks like a normal Publix cart. I've never seen special carts in any of our stores.
Karen, I haven't seen that FB meme, but I'm not in any sports FB groups. I haven't seen the riced rainbow cauliflower either, but it sounds interesting. I tried the regular riced cauliflower and didn't really care for it that much. We're supposed to get to 38° on Sunday morning, but then we warm up again and they're saying 80s for next week. Hope the incoming system isn't too bad. I guess that's the same one that's heading our way later this weekend.

I just saw this from a meteorologist in SW Florida: *FALLING IGUANAS* possible this weekend in Southwest Florida as the coldest air of the season moves in Sunday morning. We have a pretty sizable iguana population from Sanibel to Cape Coral to Naples. 🦎🦎🦎

75 today! I actually managed a half hour to get out, cut dead stuff off flowers and prune, and drag tons of leaves from there to lawn for the guys tomorrow.
But a new system is coming this weekend..rain Sun, Monday and back to low 60s. High country will get snow. Let's hope it Peter’s out on its way east!
did some cleaning up, and pulling stuff expired and tossing stuff in pantry bottom today..sort of Decluttering. a symbol of hope for future!
best laid plans….ended up looking up single door fridge with bottom freezer in recommendations and places to get one SOON. Freezer is too cold and top is too warm no matter what setting. Not good when milk is 59 degrees. The Whirlpool from Home Depot had great ratings and we got it $600 off 2000. When did things get so expensive? It comes Tuesday. So fetching lots of ice tomorrow and having top be an ice box for hinge that need it cooler. I think fruits and raw veg are ok. Still will toss a fair number of bottled things out. Sigh. Hope the freezer hangs in there , knock on wood. It lasted 11 years to this very week!
one thing..usually after you replace or remodel, you tell yourself it should outlast you or you will have moved to rent or assisted living and not deal with it. That's what my neighbor says after all new tile(Jack hammer out old), bathroom remodels, kitchen plumbing, carpeting and painting last three months.she is sick of it!
