I think eating more whole foods versus processed foods has a positive impact on losing weight/maintaining your weight. Having more whole foods increases your satisfaction and can keep you from eating more. I know when I eat a lot of processed carbs, they give me false hunger sensations. Also, better quality meat is usually lower in fat. I don't think you need to eat organic.

Yes and no about quality of my food having an impact on my weight. I definitely feel more satisfaction when I eat more healthfully - simple carbs, and starchy, fatty, sugary, salty treats make me crave more of those foods and it's much easier for me to give in to those cravings and overeat when I eat them. On the other hand, I could overeat almost anything, including healthy foods, if I don't actively work at limiting how much I'm eating.

How are you doing on judging yourself about what happens on your weight management journey?

I've never been a harsh judge of myself when it comes to my weight and my efforts. I've mostly looked at this as being a behavior modification project and therefore talk with myself about my behavior when things aren't going well. It's getting myself to do what I know works.

I don't judge myself, I look analytically to see what I can do differently when needed.
