Greetings, WW Friends ~
We had another unexpected Snow Day today. I got up and was shocked to see school closing on my phone! I suspect it was due to heavy fog? Of course, that warning (alert) will be in effect until 11 tomorrow, so it may still be with us tomorrow?
I have been doing this 'n that around the house and reading and watching TV.
Hope all is well with all of you!!

Thanks for opening the Cafe, Sue. I also decided to WFH today due to a dusting of snow here, but predicted icy sleet for travel as I get more inland. Not worth it for me. One of the luxuries of being one of the elders! Ha. They don't want me to take risks.
I had a good day yesterday with two doctor appts - Lung and Alergy and then an eye exam. In between, I went to the beautiful hospice house and spent a good hour or more having a meaningful chat with my longterm work friend who is there. She is amazing. Very much at peace and relaxed there and enjoying her daytime TV and netflix. All she asked me to bring were oranges as she loves the food there. I picked up several Sumo Oranges at Whole Foods and she was happy. We talked a lot about her life, her travels, her feelings about reaching the end of the line, etc. She is definitely at peace and also strong and very smart. I left feeling very good about our visit. I'll go back next week. She said, and I think she is right, that she feels good and has some time. No pain - just tired.
My eye exam went well. I really like my new eye doctor. My prescription changed slightly mostly in the near distance. I never needed glasses to read until the last few years and it's getting progressively worse. I'm getting some new progressives to just fix the up close part. My cataracts are about the same - nothing needed yet. No glaucoma or issues for which I am glad.
I woke up at 3 am last night and couldn't get back to sleep. I gave up and went downstairs and read for awhile and fell asleep in the recliner at 5 am. Slept till 8 so I will be tired tonight.
Dinner will be another soup. I am a bit frustrated. My weight bounced up 2 lbs today. I can't think of any reason why but this body remains a mystery so this changes nothing in my journey. KOKO!
Have a good day. Stay warm and dry everyone. Pam, I sure hope you are not in pain. That nerve pain sounds excruciating. Like a terrible toothache. Hang in. TTFN

Good evening!
I am proud to say I am typing this with two hands, even though one is pretty stiff. I ended up having to reschedule my 6 week post-op appt. as the weather was horrible. I was showered and dressing when the cell phones started with weather warnings saying to avoid all but emergency travel. DH, to his credit, said it was my decision, but I knew he would worry and I have to say, I wasn't looking forward to hazardous driving with only one good hand. Also, parts of I-10 that I would have had to travel tend to flood. So, I am rescheduled for Monday and will endure a few more days with the splint. I did go to OT today and she feels certain I will be able to ditch the splint, but shouldn't chance it until xrays confirm healing. I am anxious to get the surgeon's take on the nerve pain, as I had another mostly sleepless night last night.
Our weather continues to be rainy/stormy through tomorrow. We have 2.45 inches so far, but no flooding here. In town, one of my elderly friends who lives in a flood-prone neighborhood is very nervous. Her home has flooded 5 times, but because it's a poor black neighborhood, not much has been done. Our current parish manager has made a concerted effort to improve drainage and keep the fast-growing trees and bushes cleared out of drainage ditches and canals. She said she called his office and was told they are closely monitoring conditions.
Tomorrow, in addition to OT, I will get a mani-pedi. I am so excited, even though I don't plan to get polish, since my left large toenail is mostly non-existent. It will just be nice to have all my nails, some of which are broken and jagged, trimmed and my cuticles cleaned up.
Dinner(supper, really) tonight will be cornbread, scrambled eggs and bacon. Not super WW-friendly, but delicious nonetheless!
Hope you all stay warm and dry!
