Hey all,
I thought I'd do a three day edition to keep things simpler. Hope everyone is well. We are inundated with rain and gloom for the next several days. I may need a sunlamp - ha ha. Remember those things?
Our entire senior team is at a retreat today so my work load will be easier. I have always gone to them in the past, but was able to pass on this one. I'm so happy to just WFH today.
Sue, Happy Birthday in advance! So glad you are celebrating with your friend tomorrow. That's great. Glad your power, heat and clocks are now restored. We take things for granted and when we lose basic needs like power, it's tough. I try to remember how fortunate we all are to have those things when many in the world still do not.
DH has gone to get his REAL ID and TSA pre-check cards. I did mine a few years back so I am set. He also planned a trip to BJs for his favorite items - all paper goods. :-)
We had a nice dinner out last night at a local gastro pub type place. I had the most delicous burger and hand cut fries along with a craft beer. Big night out. :-) We have not been eating out much and trying to watch the calories and pts at home. WI day allows for a dinner out!
I am already watching the weather for Monday since it supposed to be snow and that's the day I need to head up for the Cardiac CT Scan. I may reschedule if the noon news shows more information.
Have a great day friends. I'll pop in later.

Hi to all!
We’re still in rain/thunderstorm mode here. We have had days of wet, dreary weather that is starting to affect my mood. Hopefully, things will start to clear tomorrow. Not sure how much rain we’ve had this week, but probably 3 inches or more.
Today, we had a contractor come by to look at the patio, carport, etc. He will give us an estimate on tearing out all the brickwork and replacing with concrete. He comes highly recommended by DSIL and his wife is friends with both DD1 & DD3. Their son is good friends with Jude. As I told DH, he will be honest with us. I called him on a whim, since I figured he wouldn’t be working because of the weather. He came right over and discussed things with DH and took measurements. I am sure it will be very expensive because it’s a large area and will be lots of work. Oh well!
We had a quiet day, mostly reading. Yesterday was very busy, as DH had lunch with some former coworkers and I had OT, a mani-pedi and grocery shopping and then went to Mass. I slept very well last night and slept late this morning, since I had nothing scheduled.
Tomorrow I plan to join the choir at 10:00 for a funeral. I didn’t know the woman who died, but sometimes that makes it easier to sing.
I am getting very tired but will try to read a bit. Not sure I like this book, but will give it a few more pages. Sweet dreams!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
We have some warmer temps (around 40) which is nice. A while ago the sun was shining, but it has since changed its mind. I have been working around the house - so far I've stripped and remade our bed. I was feeling like the Christmas comforter (flannel) was too much (especially in the morning) so I changed it to a heavier quilt but left the down-alternative blanket and the flannel sheets. In deference to DH I also left the heated mattress pad in place. I put fresh blue & white flannel sheets on and it looks very inviting.
I had brought home a big slab of frozen mashed potatoes from school. Our cook had so many leftovers from the Snow Days recently, so she was sending stuff home with all of us rather than throw it away. I repackaged the potatoes in 3 containers and put one with the Turkey 'N Gravy in the freezer downstairs. I have a pork loin in the crockpot for tonight and one container of potatoes to have with it and also a container of fresh broccoli (also from Cook at school). We opted for pizza and salad last night and it really hit the spot!!
I cleaned the coffee maker this morning and got it all ready for tomorrow morning. It had been a while and I had a fresh jug of vinegar downstairs so it was a no-brainer. We had Oatmeal Chocolate Chip breakfast bars this morning with fresh-cut cantaloupe and our Emergen-C drinks.
I have a short list of toiletry/pharmacy items for Meijer and I may take a run up there and pick them up and leave the groceries for another day. I also need to fill my gas tank, so that should about do it.
Yesterday I went for birthday lunch with my VBF who gifted me with a bright red Yeti (20 oz) with my name and a starburst design on it. We ate at a newer place that we don't frequent very often at all. They had a special of Blueberry Cinnamon French Toast Casserole. It was divine!! Afterward we went to Starbuck's and had lattes and sat and talked. We managed to kill the whole afternoon.
I think I will get moving and do my Meijer shopping (and gas) and will check in when I get back.

Happy Birthday Sue!!! I'm not sure exactly which day was your birthday, but I wanted to wish you well. I'm sure your DH made sure your birthday was celebrated. He is always so thoughtful. We finally saw some sunlight yesterday and more today. After so many gloomy, rainy days it was surely welcome. Debbie and I walked 3.65 miles this afternoon, our first walk in several days. DH is making crawfish enchiladas from a recipe he found online. I'll let you know how it comes out. Last night, he made Cajun Soutache, ground meat, spinach, water chestnuts, onions, celery, cream cheese and bellpepper wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked. It is one of my favorite meals and I had leftovers for lunch. I am trying to get back into the WW mindset. Today, I have been concentrating on water and exercise, as well as limiting snacks.Tomorrow, I will start tracking again. It has been weeks since I tracked. Baby steps. We have been watching 1923, but I am appalled at the blatant violence that is so explicitly depicted. I think they could have gotten across the gist of the story without such long scenes of brutality. It makes me wonder what audience they were trying to reach. JMHO I finally get to see the doctor tomorrow for my post-op checkup. I am glad as I'm concerned about how much nerve pain I am having. It woke me at 2:30 am and has continued most of the day. Hope y'all are having a restful Sunday!

Hi friends,
We’ve had a couple busy days and finally a moment to catch up! The weather here has been rain, rain, rain and SO gloomy. Like you, Pam, it is starting to get to me. It affects my eating habits- or I let it, I should say.
We are watching Detroit and SF tonight. Rooting for Detroit but they lost their edge big time.
I went to my book club tonight and had a great time. I’m really enjoying the group and was in a beautiful home in one of my favorite local areas. The host is such a nice person and plans to retire here as we did it rather, I will soon! We had a lively discussion on Master Slave Husband Wife. One member is a history professor and using this book for a class.
I’ve been reading Madame Fourcades Secret War. It’s very good but I’m getting overwhelmed by all the characters and events.
Last night we went to hear a comedian and filmmaker named Jimmy Tingle. It was a good night!
I had a haircut and color today before my book club. Really needed it!!!
Pam, your dinner sounded amazing. I’d love that!
Sue, so glad you had a nice celebration with your DF! Happy birthday!!!!
TTFN
