going to buy some snap dragons and plant them . A bunch survived the cold, but empty spots are there.
Then I will bake breadā¦Been years because I had a machine. Love that smell and fresh warm bread

Linda, sometimes I wonder how our landscapes ever survive. At least the snapdragons are still alive and the chard seems to be thriving. Enjoy the gratin. I hope the Mexican didn't aggravate your digestive system. I hate it when you get to the service department and the vehicle is no longer making "that noise". Is the RAV FWD or AWD? Either alignment is expensive, but the AWD is about double. YAY for that coupon. You were right--I feel much better today. I wonder if it was a combination of the blood draw Thursday morning and then the shot in the afternoon. I know I drank about 1/2 gallon of water while I was on the road, so dehydration shouldn't have been an issue. Good luck with the vet. I need to clean Arya's ears because she has been doing the ear flop thing more often today. It's a bread day here as well, but I won't bake until tomorrow. Enjoy the wonderful aroma!
I'm glad I mentioned the figure skating, Kathy. I just happened to see an ad for it on our noon news and remembered your mentioning it in the past. The potholes are a result of the freezing and thawing, and the rain doesn't help. I use the Waze app when I go to KVL and I really got tired of hearing her say "pothole on road ahead" on Thursday. It seems to be worse on some highways than others. The interstates are exceptionally bad with all the traffic. I actually have hit potholes that flattened a tire, and when there is water in them, it's really difficult to even know they're there until it's too late. Michigan promoted one of their ass't coaches to head coach and he was the one I hoped would get the job. Of the 7 games that Harbaugh was suspended, he was interim for at least 4 of those games, so he has at least a 4-0 record as a head coach already.
Heard from Liz. She had shots in both knees yesterday, so that should help some of her pain. Hospital is the usual crazy place (she had to go in yesterday), so she's feeling it today.
I think I slept over 10 hours last night and that felt really good. I managed to do a workout, but only spent 25 minutes on the rowing machine (vs. the typical 45 minutes). Progress is progress. It's raining but temps are in the 50s, so very mild for this time of year. Today would have been DM's 91st birthday. I wonder if she would still be with us had it not been for that spontaneous femur fracture thanks to Reclast. I did a load of laundry this morning and not much more on the agenda for today. Have a great day, everyone!

Karen, I've hit some of those potholes with water in them too. Glad you're happy with the new Michigan coach. Hope the shots help Liz. I can't imagine having to work in the hospital with all she's dealing with. You must've needed the rest after the shot. Glad you're feeling better today. We're in the 80s today, but a front is supposed to go through tomorrow and take us back to the low 70s.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I cannot imagine working at all with Liz's pain.
do not miss potholes. If we do have them, they are hugeā¦.but rare
glad you are feeling better Karen. Thought of you yesterday as I looked at bread recipesā¦going with Farm house white from the Farmhouse Kitchen Handbok. But plans for today changed at the vet.
exam fee, two super ear washes, ear sample analysis, and ear med that is packed in to stay for 30 days. This no twice daily corralling the speedy for drops. Down side $125 an ear. She has bacterial infection in both. $430. Had it before couple days after grooming. The pull out hair with tweezers but also shave upper part. Itty bits end up. way in there on her. Going to try ear hair removal before bath, shaving in ear with cotton in it later. I stopped there to arrange to shorten her schnauzer beard which is longer and turned into Velcro as I went to Petsmart..no parking anywhere today! Good thing I have handicap hanger.
she put on another pound to almost 24 and that is three or more too much. Consulted on different food she will eat and cut back on other stuff. Unfortunately she is a night eater. So after we got nutsy home ( goes bonkers in car excited to go), quieter but determined to look out the window over my lap going home, I went to Petsmart for Purina Pro with chicken. ( third level up in Purina dig food). She really liked that. It actually has strip of chicken in the kibble. The canned is chicken flavor. Half the cost of Royal Canan. Now to get her to have it mixed in the old stuff and not change too fast. Vet now uses their prescription stuff.
Then the library wanted a book back someone requested, and I went to Honeymoon Sweets for their individual raspberry swirl cheesecakes..see them on DB..sold out. They started as wedding cake sellers. Incredible traffic, construction, and some sort of fiesta with booths by the library made that a long trip.
Finally got to Home Depot for the lovely snapdragons to fill in garden, and big pot of blue pansies, and a geranium for pots. Too tired now to make bread or plant. Guess it will Sunday.

.Dog woke me at seven to go out and actually ate her breakfast. She likes the new stuff well enough to eat the old if a quarter of it is new. Nice change.
maybe I can get bread baked today. I will plant the flowers. So nice to see cheery color.

Karen, we have big pothole problems here, too. 5 cars on I-75 hit one so big they had to pull over with flat tires and one had a broken axel. Iām happy your shingrex shot didnāt do too much damage. I donāt know if you watched the Australian Open but the Italian with the German name won. We celebrated here.
Linda, how did the chard turn out? I love snapdragons but havenāt planted them for awhile. How did the bread making go? Poor Minni. I hope she is feeling a little better.
Kathy, I hope you are enjoying the ice skating. Itās been a tennis morning and will be a football afternoon/evening here. Yuck on the insurance/pharmacy calls. I had to do the same thing Wednesday for the refill of my new drops.
My eyes needed the rest from the iPad screen and doom scrolling. Itās been raining all weekend, so we havenāt gone out much. It was 56Ā° on Friday but only 42Ā° today.
Take care.

Kathy, did your cold front come through? We started having winds in the middle of the night, which brought in ours. Arya did stay in bed, so that was a help. But she still was very unhappy. We have our second rainy day in a row. Hope if the cooler weather came in for you that the rain didn't dip that far south. Are you watching either of the football games today or did you give up when the Bucs got eliminated? It's a shame we have to be so proactive with insurance companies to get what should be automatic, if it was about patient care and not profits.
Yay on Minni liking the new food, Linda. It must really be good for her to eat breakfast. Are her ears doing better today? Good luck with the bread. Enjoy those flowers. Everything here is brown.
Chele, we've had the same weekend you have and I guess at least it's not snow. We haven't been watching the Australian Open this weekend but did catch some matches during the week. I pretty much tuned out after Coco Gauff got knocked out. I did see who won. I didn't realize he was Italian. He knocked out "Novax" (who actually knocked himself out with poor play) so I was happy about that. What a mess on I-75. And what can you do except deal with it? The state wouldn't pay anything if you filed a claim. Sorry the eyes are still giving you problems, but with so much negativity in the world right now there's plenty to scroll through.
It's been a busy day with cooking and laundry, but will be a basketball game followed by football for the rest of the day. Go Niners! I called DN#3 a little while ago to see how she's doing. Had to leave a message, so I hope she's out with friends doing something fun. Tomorrow I have a hair cut scheduled before iTone and then we decided to have sushi for dinner, so I'll make that stop on the way home. I hope everyone has a great week.

Karen, question for the read expert: recipe for 2 loaves of Farmhouse bread calls for 1.5 cups liquid and 4 cups bread flour plus one more to knead in until the dough looks right (never been good on that).
well, cups went into yeast, butter, liquid, honey mixture to sit five minutes, then āstir in two cups moreāā¦..uh stir? I had to knead in the last cup! Never did any more. Seems ok. Elastic ,not sticky, smooths with kneading.
could it be that I used Bob's Red mill artisan bread flour that was not sifted and had heavy flour?
Any thoughts? It is doing first rise.

The worst ear got med yesterday while we wait for new shipment to arrive Monday for tech to do the other ear. Hope it comes early. But no flapping! Yea.
Chele, those are some monster potholes you have.
our weather is in mid 70s, a little warm, but close to why we moved here.
Glad Arya stayed in bed! Progress,
Big golf tournament in two weeks in North Scottsdaleā¦a freeway and big area to avoid. Lot of drunks each day from the 19th hole. And they have huge galleries throughout. It gets really nuts.
That area just finishing Barrett Auto show, huge. You see a ,ot of interesting cars on the roads, but most are shipped in on trucks. Very moneyed area that will also have the Arabian horse show. which is why we have no trouble avoiding it!
Out to start on flower planting with canine supervision. She will snatch empty pots and beat them up just like Micki did. She tries to steal them with plants still inside!

Linda, if the flour mixed in well and the dough isn't sticky, You should be good to go. See how it looks after the first rise. The flour could possibly make a difference. That sounded like a "classic" recipe, so our ingredients may be a little different now. Does it recommend 2 rises? Hope the medication shipment arives early so you can get that job done early. No flapping is a very good sign though. Sounds like two weeks from now will be a good time to stay home. At least you won't have the golf tournament and horse show plus the Super Bowl to deal with. I'm not sure I would want to drive one of those expensive cars on your freeways. Good luck with the flowers. I know you will be well supervised.

Super Bowl next year againā¦yuck.
Got a lot of planting done, but more to go because doggie help slows it down!
Dinner at Flemings with the surf and turf special was great.
The first rise was great. Second not as high, but if DH had not decided to have dinner out at 4, I would have left it beyond the hour. Not had anyway. Pretty tasty. It a classic white bread recipe.
