Thanks for the start, Chele. Am I right that you are disappointed in the result of the 2nd NFL game? We thought Detroit had it locked up in the first half and didn't watch after halftime. So we were shocked at the final score. Maybe next year for the Lions. I hope you're feeling more optimistic today. I read something not long ago that certain factions (that shall remain nameless) are making a concerted effort to ensure that we feel hopeless. Is it any wonder we have a mental health crisis in this country?😫 Winter weather doesn't help my state of mind, especially the cloudy, rainy days. I'm determined to find ways to stay positive, despite all the negativity and wackiness we're dealing with, and hope you will also find ways of doing that.
Did the ear medicine come in, Linda? Any more ear shaking? The bread looks great and I'm happy to hear that it also tasted good. Nice Kitchenaid in your photo.
Kathy, are you back to seasonal weather today? We are predicted to be back below freezing for tonight's low. We've actually had the plants that are overwintering pulled out from their temporary home in the garage since last week. Dale said he would bring them back in after he returns from his run. We had more rain this morning--not heavy, and just enough to be a nuisance for my drive. Traffic was light, so no problems. But we still do have a few tourists. I saw cars today from as far away as Maine and Florida.
We had a large class this morning. We had to be really careful not to run into one another on some of the dance moves. I can already feel soreness creeping into some muscles. I got there a bit early after the haircut, so I had extra time on the elliptical, which was nice. The sushi place wasn't crowded but the sushi chef was unusually slow today, so that took longer than anticipated. But at least dinner won't take any effort. I hope everyone will have a great week!

Another gray day here. We haven’t seen the sun since Jan 21. It’s only in the upper thirties and we had some snow flakes in the early morning and are expecting some flakes tomorrow but no significant accumulation.
Iggy developed some back pain in the area of his kidneys and was afraid he was developing kidney stones from all the extra calcium his kidney doctor has him taking. He went to our PCP this morning because getting an immediate appointment with the nephrologist is impossible. The doc looked at all his tests which are online and examined his back a d determined it is a back problem. The doc is a DO and did a chiropractic move on him a d he said the pain has eased. I love our PCP. He leaves open certain times of the day to see patients who don’t have an appointment but have a non-emergency issue. He is an old fashioned doc who I hope will be around for a while.
Karen, Enjoy the sushi. I made bean burritos for lunch and Iggy made a pot of his Lebanese kidney beans, so we will be full of beans this week. 💨 💨 💨 My state of mind is related to no sun, election year nonsense, and the crazy people who make s**t up. I was disappointed that the Lions seemed to lose their grip in the second half. I was only rooting for them because they have never been in a Super Bowl.
Linda, your bread looks great. Did Minni let you get your gardening done? Has her medicine come in? Yum on your dinner. I used to love Flemings.
Kathy, how is your Monday going?

Chele, I do not miss that cold and gloom of Januarythere. glad that was not a stone. Extra calcium with D after throat surgery disturbed parathyroid gland was what gave me a kidney stone…needed lithotripsy to get rid of it. Nasty!
Flemings is an upscale steak house like Ruth’s Crist. Sunday special is surf and turf plus salad and dessert! Filet and lobster tail, salad and cheese cake for me, creme broule for him for a while lot less that regular price. We shared one dessert ,ate half the steak ,and have the other half and dessert tonight.
Bob brought home dozen white roses, two dozen tulips and his sisters sent a large bouquet…smells like a florist shop here.
Minni got her other ear med today. Yea.
She is now in full nap mode. Because she got me up at six to go Pooh ( new) and then was in the yard a bit later while I pruned a couple things before city pick up, and then had a decent walk and shortly after a trip to vet for the meds. The front door was open with plexiglas at bottom instead of screen so huge can lie in the sun. She went insane when a guy delivered flowers! she loves the Purina Pro chicken kibble. And it must have lots of fiber along with the probiotic.
We shall see what happens when I go out to finish planting flowers now. To the accompaniement of hammering on the roof behind us with Mexican music. Maybe that is why Minni was up at six.

Karen, we went from above normal last week to below normal temps this week. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts! We had some rain early Sunday and the lawn and plants still look good. I'm not surprised that you still have tourists there. Some people like to see the different seasons and it's a good time to avoid the big crowds.
Chele, that's a long time with no sun. We've had a lot of gray days this winter too, but the sun was out today. That's great that the doc could help with Iggy's back and good news that it's not a kidney problem. I was rooting for the Lions too and couldn't believe how badly they collapsed in the second half. I'd forgotten that they'd never been in a Super Bowl.
Linda, sounds like a great meal. Hammering and music at 6am would wake me up too!

Never heard it…it was Minni wanting a bathroom break! Our house has a lot of insulation and double windows.
When I went out again to work on flower garden, Minni bounced out and retreated really fast as the roofers started using a nail gun. Nope, not liking that at all!
Garage was 80 when Minni got a very short pm walk from an exhausted me. I had already walked her half a mile, been up at six, pruned, paid bills, gone to store, then worked hard on the soil and grass to put in the alyssum border. Came in so tired and achy and realized I still had supper and another dog walk. Some days I do not know how I do it. Got dinner set up and took a long soaking hot bath and Tylenol. Bed early.
